Thank you guys so much for watching! Please leave us a like if you enjoyed the video. We truly do appreciate it! Also we love hearing your comments so feel free to tell us what you think of the video. We hope that after this lesson, you will have a good understanding of these two different thyroid hormone disorders. They are both very serious and potentially life threatening. And while they both deal with thyroid hormone imbalances, they are quite different from each other with very different presentations and treatments.

I have hypothyroidism & Im struggling to balance my thyroid. My Dr. doesn't listen to me, and I have episode's of shortness of breath, slowing down, not wanting to even speak or move, I'm so fatigued. Seems to last a full day. But I am on the lowest dose of thyroid possible, but when I take it daily, it feels like too much. I felt adrenaline every damn day, even while resting. So I started taking it every 3 days instead of daily for the last 2 months. Which felt fine, but now I can barely move and am wearing a sweater in summer, so Im thinking I need to move my doses closer. I'm glad I at least can watch this video to understand worse case scenarios myself to know whether or not I should be concerned and what to address with my Dr... When I look back to 2yrs ago, the only time I felt absolutely good with energy and clarity is when I was on steroids for an allergic reaction. I'm desperate now to learn more and feel normal again. I will definitely be digging into more videos from your channel. They are straight to the point and clear. 👍Thank you!

Thank you for this very simple and clear discussion. Just wondering why you didn’t mention the importance of a high TSH lab result when caring for a myxedema patient. Thank you for all of your hard work!

To be honest endocrine isn't one of my strongest areas as my background is Trauma and CVICU, but a friend of mine had requested an endocrine series and hence making this series. I'm sure I missed a few things, but hopefully hit the major stuff!

ICU Advantage You did a fantastic job! I am an emergency nurse and this is only the second myxedema case I’ve seen in 9 years, so even though it is not rare, it sure seems to be uncommon. So my hat is off to you! Keep up the great explanations 👍🏼

That's true, in the Thyroid hormone problem leading to Thyroid storm some diagnostic tests or combination of which leads to medical practioners to the diagnosis of Thyroid storm based on symptoms because there are things in the environment unconfirmed or undiagnosed yet but it's effects manifests like the existence of Dark matter, it's unobservable but it's effects are undeniable though studies have to be accelerated for other important details.

Getting checked for hypothyroid this week. -i was in ICU for kidney stone- sepsis and they never checked thyroid T3 or tch. I had 2 pregnancies both preeclampsia and several sick....they also never checked thyroid! Both babies born with severe developmental issues sadly. I gained 18lbs in 2 weeks, lost brow hair, have dry skin on face randomly, and sleep alot and so tired. Text book hypothyroidism signs. I'll give an update if I test positive for it. They should really have pregnant women test for this stuff as it CAN harm the baby and mother. I almost died giving birth!

There are other options other than what your endo doctor will give you. Research low dose naltrexone and see if it will help you.
