Back in the mid 2000’s when they designed the R35.. the designers didn’t want it to look like anything the Europeans or American car companies had. The designers tried to make a car that looked like a Gundam Warrior or robotech robot and dedicated the car to the emperor of Japan. When you look at any car that was out in 2007-2008 none of them had the futuristic robotic motif the GTR had. The edges were sharp, contrasting most of its competition consisting of smooth/curvy body lines
After years of thinking about a bunch of different cars I would buy, (if I ever won the Powerball or Mega Millions jackpot), this is the one right here. Not too flashy that it brings me unwanted attention it's, not a super exotic car, and it has respect in the streets and turns head. This is something that I can drive and not get followed home or carjacked
It truly was (is?) an incredible car. Especially for the money. Some things that drop it down a couple pegs in my mind: 1. When it first came out, you would void the warranty if you drove it on track 2. The trans could only handle a handful of launches before it would void the warranty (and often shatter). There’s a video (Top Gear? Motor Trend?) of a 911 Turbo doing literally dozens of launches with zero ill effects. Considering when the GTR came out, its party piece was launch control, Nissan looked a bit silly. 3. It was not a pretty car originally. Race car variants are/were super mean looking but the stock version was pretty meh (my opinion).
Look as someone who fell in love with the R35 and bought one….worth it 🔥 lol. Even though my favorite out of the line up is a R33 🤤 a lot of people complain that the look hasn’t changed but would be the first ones to complain when the look changes.
The reason I first started getting into gtrs is because I watched the Cboys vid and I loved the r 35 it is now one of my dream cars and I also love the r34 and r 32
Fun fact, the yellow Nissan GTR that was shown drifting on the dirt belongs to BrendanMcmartin, and I’ve actually seen it in person while on a bike ride as we both live on the north shore

Would be nice if they would actually update the car. No idea what’s going on in Japan, but they have throttled their sports car market like crazy across the board
They are finally legal to import the rhd jdm 35’s into Canada the 08’s and 09’s can be had anywhere from 45k and up depending on the kilometres but what you need to watch out for when buying a used R35 is if they need a trans rebuild it can cost you up to 32k for a trans rebuild on top of the 45-135k that you will pay for one on the used market.
I’m either early or this channel got cancelled for something horrendous. Either way the R35 GTR is the go-to prank UA-camr car for a reason. I mean… sub 3 second 0-60 is insane. It’s a great thing and a shame it’s been in production for so long.

And still is wicked fast. When it came out it was like when the fast Tesla's came out. UA-cam videos of this just racing everything and winning

They wouldnt even let me sit in one because i was a smoker. Each engine was hand crafted, balanced, and built by one individual. This car with double its costin mods is the fastest, quickest, and most powerful at the price point of $250,000. They will smoke anything that lines up against them, even $10M "super" cars. You can push the limits...and the limits are yet to be found in most cases.

The nickname "Godzilla" was not the R35. The R32 was the godzilla. The original at least. The 33 also went by godzilla, the 34 deserved the name to an extent, but ut was marketing after the 33. I would take a 32 or 33 (or 4) any day of the week over the 35. The 32, 3 & 4 looked better imo. Sounded better to me, and objectively better racing history on top.
They did screw up. On the transmission that is. The auto trans has a bad habit of over heating and if you need a replacement good luck each trans is hand fitted to vehicle. Something I never understood was if your going to have a 6 speed auto trans why not offer it with a clutch which is what everyone really wanted.
I’d have a R35 GTR over any other super car. Driven one on a track day and they are comfortable, practical, luxurious and brutally fast. What more could you ever ask for?

The graphics for the dash and the screens in the GTR came from Gran Turismo. That alone makes it one of the greats.
Funny enough, Polyphony Digital (producer of Gran Turismo) was hired by Nissan to make the instrument cluster.

The coolest part imo is the transmission in the rear for weight distribution
