*Works great **Fastly.Cool** compact and Easy to install*
By far the best portable AC install and first impressions video I've ever seen so detailed and in-depth. Thanks!
Thanks!!!!!!
Great video! You not only showed how to install it, you showed possible questions and solutions that an average person would have. Thank you very much.
Glad it was helpful! :)
I purchased this unit from Costco and saw your thorough review and installation. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and instructions.
How has your Costco unit holding up?. Would u purchase again?
@@zags619sandiego4 It stopped working after 1 year of use (3 - 4 months of summer use only) Reached out to their support and did some minor troubleshooting. I couldn't wait for them to give me run around and returned to Costco. No questions asked. Purchased the Delonghi Pinguino from Costco and have been happy with it. Less noise (single duct)
@@hsjossan80 thank you for ur reply. I just bought this unit from Costco waiting on delivery. I'm gonna give it a go, if it fails it's going back to Costco.
@@hsjossan80 Single-duct designs are far worse designs, because they create a vacuum inside the house and hot outside air comes in via door and window seams. So self-defeating when compared to dual-hose.
According to my instructions you started on step 3
For future reference you can't tip over appliances with compressors inside them like refrigerators and ac units, if you do you need to leave them upright for at least a few hours to 24 hours before turning them on. Oils from the compressor can leak into the refrigerant lines and cause damage to your unit
I have to believe refrigerant lines are sealed, so leaks would not be an issue.
@dantyler6907 What does that mean everything he said is true you can't tip them
@dantyler6907 it's not that anything would leak out of the refrigeration line, it's that the oil that's inside the compressor will travel into the refrigeration line. You don't want that
@@dantyler6907 oils in the condenser, evaporator coils and lines can cause the compressor to lock up from not having enough oil in it to lubecate the bearings or cause a line to rupture from oil logged coils.
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! this helped us make a buying decision. we really appreciate it. thank you friend.
The reason you can't hear the difference innfan speeds is because the sound of the compressor is louder than the fan. Thank you for the review!!!
Thank you! Very thorough, exactly what I needed to see. Especially how the ducts fit into your window. I'm in an apt and it's hard for me to guage how the ducts will fit with my window type and this helped me out a lot.
Great detailed vid! It gave me confidence to pull the trigger on getting a similar one.
Went to Costco online and a rare sale brought us the latest (Hisense) DC inverter a/c-only version, and I installed into a sliding patio door.
Piece of cake -- just ripped and painted some 1/2" plywood to the opening of 6", screwed the supplied single 2-port adapter plate onto it, mated and cut out the 2 ports in the plywood, added some foam gaskets and voila! a nice tight fit.
6" exhaust hose doesn't get that hot (pushing 110 F) but we still added a quilted cover sleeve that my wife whipped up.
Also a large diy bug screen for the intake.
So far, I could only get this [newer] unit to draw a max 800 watts or under 7 amps.
The temp drops relatively fast and is way quieter in our 300 sq ft bedroom than the ancient-model single-duct roll-around a/c. It's also programmable through a ConnectLife app.
However, it still ain't no mini-split a/c when it comes to quiet and efficiency.
Now let's see how long it lasts 😁
You should have the hot hose on the top. Hot air rises. With the hot hose on the bottom, the intake hose that you have on the top will suck in hot air decreasing the efficiency of the air conditioner. It would work much better if you switched the hoses around.
Absolutely I always have to remind my friends that install the dual hose to put the hot on top and the cold on the bottom
Are they both not supposed to blow hot air out then? I just purchased This portable AC, but refurbished and one hose like in the video was blowing out hot air and the other one wasn’t blowing anything out. But I also did have the hot air hose on the bottom and the other on the top.
@@FamousSASkater Put the one that exhausts the hot air on top the other one pulls air from outside into the unit to cool the condenser
A few points, the window mount for the exhaust hoses is supposed to be installed with the "short edge" that is before the first hose cut out at the bottom, so it sits at the bottom of the window frame edge, and the longer section after the second hose cut out at the top, so it's directed up and connected to, the next piece that will go up to rest at top part of the window fame edge. Doing so allows for the holes to line up correctly for the rivet(s) placement on both sides of the mounting frame track. While the hoses do have clips to keep them in place to the mounting frame, the hoses should still be further secured to the mounting frame with screws through the predrilled holes on both the couplings and the mounting frame. Other than that, you did a great job of showing the installation.
Hi! I love your movie Goonies. It was my😊 favorite as a kid.
LOL, that wasn't me!!! :P
What an excellent video!!! Thanks!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for the kind words!!!
Got a great deal from Costco. Thanks!
Agree that the hot air vent should be insulated. I live in Texas and I noticed the hot air vent got so hot it was radiating back into the room. Despite running constantly, it could not bring the temp below 85 in a fairly well insulated 200 SQ ft room. I was disappointed. Today I insulated the exhaust vent with TO and it seems to be improving performance.
Thanks, after watching this I put an order in to Costco.
Congrats! Enjoy your new AC!!!
Thank you so much for this video! Very thorough and simple to follow! I subscribed immediately ❤️
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
Yay!!! Glad to hear summer was saved, for you! Woot!!!! 🎉
Alright after watching this I’m buying it

Thank you for your video. It helped me get mine set up and running
Excellent demonstration!!
The hot exhaust hose should should be the top hose. Hot air rises. If the hot hose is at the bottom, as the hot air blows out, some of that hot air will be drawn into the intake hose, reducing the efficiency.
This makes a lot of sense! I have now switched my hot hose to the top, thanks!
I bought and I am installing my new Hisense dual hose AC. This video was A+.
@@peregrine116 Thanks so much!!!!! congrats on your new AC! Enjoy it, my friend! Thanks again for your input!
Good video, I'll consider buying.
Put the exhaust hose to the top, if put to the bottom the hot air will go back into the other hose, remember hot air rises
thanks! I have went back and corrected it now. Thanks for taking the time to let me know. 👍
Do you need to drain this unit once a while? Did you have chance to use the upper drain hose?
Hot duct should probably go on top so the other duct doesn't suck in all that hot air as easily...
Yep, Agree! host air rises! 👍
Great video! Thanks for showing each step clearly. Can you lend me a hand by measuring the thickness of the vent panel?
You have to raise the unit so the exhaust has a proper flow
it's been fine this way for several years, we use it very often. It's been great for us. 👍
:) Just make sure everyone puts the exhaust hose on top of window so the fresh air hose is not sucking that hot air back in:) like you have it.
Great and clear review

I am about to purchase one of these units. 2 years later, what is your opinion of the unit?
Thanks
Enjoyed the video. I have one of the older Hisense Portables. I really have enjoyed it, but I wish i had the dual hose on it. I may go and buy a new one. . You can find some good insulators for the pipes online. Take care and thanks for going into detail about it.
Just ordered the same unit from Costco to replace my 10 yr old Sharp one (which had worked great). Will see how this does.
If you don't mind, can you let me know how loud the compressor is? I had a different unit, but had to return it because it's being used in a small space and the compressor is unbearable.
@@nhrunner i received it and it’s definitely quieter than my old Sharp AC. If you put it on auto high it gets pretty loud when the compressor and fan on high kick on together. But you can set the fan to low and around 78F and it stays relatively quiet overall. Anything with a compressor will generate noise though. Overall very solid unit and cools my room down even with my desktop PC pushing out heat.
@@OGSuperDirty What's the lowest temp it can go?
@@OGSuperDirty Hey thanks for sharing, same thing with gaming that's what I needed to know.
great practical information sharing,
Glad it was helpful! 🔥🔥🔥
Thank u boss. Great video. Thanks 4 ur help n time!!🙂
"You can't really hear the difference." Especially when you hold the microphone in front of the blower...LOL
Great job
Thanks for the installation guide was very hopeful even years later. I have a similar unit without heat, and I'm wondering if my unit is defective. In cool mode does yours go lower than the temperature you set or does it stop immediately after reaching the set temp. Thanks in advance.
But what about the swing mode !?!
It works, it's nice :)
“Roughly a 12 x 12 inch room” 😂
How well does the heat work on this? I'm especially curious about how it is when it's really cold out.
Mine rattles, his doesnt'. If you happen to get lucky , like this guy, its pretty good unit. Mine is so noisy its terrible
Mine Rattles TOO! when it does, try to move the hose and push the unit around a little bit. If everything "wedges" just right, it is quiet :)
Maybe I’m stupid . But my window is 35 inches wide and no combination of those panels will fit my window and still allow both holes to be open all the way for the hoses to fit
My window is 36" wide - and I have the exact problem. I think the panels were reused from the single hose model, with the dual hoses I cannot make it fit without cutting the panel.
@@OkashiiKen yea they definitely messed that up. I ended up using a multi tool and cutting it . Used some waterproof tape for extra security and it’s been great
Ya I had to saw the extended piece. Wasn't perfect but it did the trick.
Good job!
Great bro
How is this unit operating thus far? Interested in one of these.
Wish the vents had more options to make it more appealing
What about the same unit, but the room is 20x20 ?
Will work well?
how ya liking it 2 yrs later?
Still works great! I use it several times a week. :)
Pretty good for a 12 inch by 13 inch room lol. Good video man just messing with you. I know you met 12 by 12 feet. Lol
Hello, how does draining the unit work? Does it need to be drained?
I have used it for 1 year, and never had to drain it! But it may be different for you in your weather conditions.
Looks Nice . Hows it holding up?
Dont run the exhaust vertically like that itll burn up the unit
It's been fine this way for several years, we use it very often. It's been great for us. 👍
Hisense "C"?
Hello. I thought I heard you mention a water line (??), if there is one, where would it be attached? Is the air directional? Does the unit serve as a heater for colder months? Does a higher btu (14,000) need a 240 prong? Thanx. I really enjoyed your presentation for installation, you made it seem simplified. Peace
Hi Cynthia, there is a water drain line, i haven't used it, and so far no water puddles in my room! It does have a heat pump functionality, but I have never used it. The model I have (10,000 BTU) has 110V, I don't know about the 14,000 BTU model. Sorry, I don't have all the answer. I wish you all the best! :)
This unit pretty much maxes out what you can get out of 110v. As for water, it is pulled out of the humid air in the room and in most cases the collected water is ejected in the hot air stream.
The geniuses at Hi-Sense used to have a one-hose model and then "upgraded" to a two-hose version. Oops! The second hose bracket in the main window panel prevents the slider panel attachments from sliding all the way in. So, while they claim that this will fit in any window 25-60" ... it is now a lie! It works for 25" exactly (using only the main panel) and 31" up (using slider panel inserts). But, between 25 and 31" you're SOL because the new second hose bracket won't allow even the shortest panel to retract all the way. Way to think things through! NOT!
Question: 'Condensed water will evaporate outside through the air exhaust hose' How is the water exhaust hose holding up?
thank you
how much did this unit cost you? you said you got it at cosco, was it at discount
Any experience or comment about heating abilities
Nope, I only use it for the AC feature.
Thank u for this video
what are your thoughts about the product now?
I'll try watching it again, after you edit it down.
Thank you sir great info.
What square room are you trying to cool off..also how long does it take to cool the room from when you start at what degree to 64 degrees?
Got mine this week. Though, when the compressor turns off, the whole unit slightly shakes to the side with a bang sound that startles me every time. Yet, when you turned yours off, no shake or loud sound. Has yours ever made a sound loud enough to startle you?
I wish the fan stayed on when the compressor
Cuts off
How turn the light on unit my don’t she temperature in the circle
Nice video. Where can one purchase this? On Hisense homepage says Costco, but there it says no product.
Lowe's
So it did come with all the foam strips to be used in the installation kit? Would you say this AC unit is relatively quiet on low? I did see that you compared it to a desk fan but I wonder if you have a different opinion on it this far down the road.
Yep, it came with all the foam strips I needed (and more). The AC is loud, but comparable to other portable/window units. You can hear the AC when I use it during my live Stream here, listen closely around the 2 minute mark: www.amazon.com/live/channel/3a8c8495-0fbc-4b15-a6c2-d5fe776e974a

So my window is similar to yours however the dimensions from top to bottom is 55 inch. Will that be a problem for me ?!
Hello! I'm thinking about buying this. Can you tell me how it works these days after most of a year?
I use mine daily now, since I have a very hot (fully enclosed studio). It is still hear the AC (it's not super quiet), but otherwise my studio is too hot. You can hear the unit running in the background on my AmazonLive Stream, like this one here: www.amazon.com/live/broadcast/f8fc01c1-5b63-45d2-9859-91e77c85de5f
@@UTECHPIA Hey thank you for the fast response!! I need a way to cool off a 1 room apartment that hits temps 10+ degrees warmer than it is outside in sun, and I think I'm gonna go with this one thanks to your help! Hopefully my headset can tune out the noise since I work remote call center. I'm buying it from Costco to get this dual hose model, so your Amazon link doesn't support you... Is there something else I can do as far as link clicking etc that helps you?
@@KikiAelita , most noise cancelling headset will do fine with AC noise, it is easy to cancel out. I bought mine from Costco too, i recommend it since they have the dual hose model. Hey if anyone's reading this and was in a similar situation, while shipping took almost twice as long as Costco said, and one of the window mount pieces arrived with a crack, the unit itself works great. One advisement I'd have is making sure that either the room has good airflow around it or that you add your own. The unit has a tendency to cool the area around it, resulting in it shutting off because it thinks it's at the target temp long before areas just around a corner (but still in the same larger room) cool off. This can be 'fixed' by leaving the unit set for much colder than you actually want the room to be or by adding fans to keep the cold air being pulled away/hot air moved back towards it. Cord is short (6-7ft)! But good unit, would recommend.
@@KikiAelita Thanks for the info. I have one question. I know the window kit is good for up to 50 inches. But, I think my window is a bit over 50 inches (about 56 inches when I last checked). If you extend the kit all the way, will it be exactly 50 inches? I ordered one for my condo because the third floor gets really hot and there is a heat wave in the Pacific Northwest right now. I know I will get mine after the heat wave. But, I was wondering whether I should buy this alternative on Amazon for this AC (www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08KZSYKGZ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3O0W24XBCTNR6&psc=1).
How many actual wattage does this unit pull from the wall?
For the heating do u remove any of the dual hose for efficient heating ? The manual does say if the outside temp is colder we might have to remove one of the hose that way it can keep the house warm. Any input?
You leave it as-is. In heat mode the unit will draw in outside air and eject that air far colder. Inside the house, room air will enter at the back and come out warm in front. In other words, exactly the opposite of A/C. The heat pump won't work well if the outside air get pretty cold.
So why use a heat pump? Because it uses far less electricity than just running a resistance heater. But again, if the outside is very cold then a heat pump won't work well.
How all room cool?
this ac cant even cool my 150sqft room. i even fix the outgoing air away from the intake. and cover both of the host with the foils pipe. turn the cool on 16 but my room still get around 25 at a 32C day.
I need one in my garage and there is no window, what should I do
Is there any maintenance like draining with this one?
Hi Shelly, the manual said it uses a "Waterless Design and doesn't require routine draining in cooling mode due to internal evaporation of condensate water". However, this internal tank CAN get full, and if it does there will be an E5 error code on the display telling me to manually drain it. Also when moving the unit, they suggest draining the tank as well. So far I've been using it for over a week, no draining needed, yet.
Is it noisy?
It's "average" in terms of the noise department. It's not any louder than the other portable units I've used. But it is NOT quiet either.
Thanks
Is this unit wifi compatible to use with your phone?
How to drain it?
if you use AC only, you don't need to drain it (at least in my experience). if you use heater, you'll have to attach the drain hose.
How about the draining hose. Did you installed that ?
Hi Angel, nope. The manual said it uses a "Waterless Design and doesn't require routine draining in cooling mode due to internal evaporation of condensate water". However, this internal tank CAN get full, and if it does there will be an E5 error code on the display telling me to manually drain it. Also when moving the unit, they suggest draining the tank as well. So far I've been using it for over a week, no draining needed, yet.
UTECHPIA I wanted that same unit but how we can get it to our house, if I go upstairs that's not a problem
UTECHPIA surprise for me it has caster wheels
Did the unit come with a drain hose? I can't find one with mine.
yep, it did!
@@UTECHPIA Called and emailed Hisense, they sent me the hose and a clip.
I ordered the same unit from costco. Can you tell me how to use the unit as a heater during winter? Do I have to have the hoses hooked up to the window? Or do I just run the heater as it is like a regular space heater? Thanks
You still NEED the house in the same orientations on the window, when using it as a heater.
How much electric use
This is a GREAT UNIT. Just PULL out ALL the Electronics.
ALL OF THEM. And Maybe it might WORK. LOL. Had mine working for less then 2 hours and then it did not give ANY error codes. it just kept turning Off. What a JIP. Oh well. There is a Reason there are SO many Referbs of this. None of them work very long.
4 years later gap is still there
LOL, soooooo TRUE! 😅

You need to hook up the tubes to the window when using the HEAT too.
@@UTECHPIA Thanks a lot for the reply, your tutorial is amazing very helpful

It's a really good unit! I highly recommend it, Enjoy your AC! :)
Looks so cheap
It's "decent" quality. It works, and I have a feeling it'll last at least 4-5 years. If it can last that long, it's worth it to me. For the price of the unit, and it has dual hoses, I am willing to accept the "decent" quality. :)
