    I played duos last night for fun in >125 got absolutely clapped by a double warlock team and a double cleric team. If you're not playing those 2 classes right now you're playing this game wrong. We were Ranger Barbarian. Always look forward to this podcast! Thanks Soma ❤

    Great Podcast, Soda had some good takes for sure. One thing I will say.. I do hate warlocks on fighter, however, that clip is a 1 vs 3. People suggesting ranger can turn into the team are wrong. Also, bard buffs would have been juicing the guys MS... so it isn't really a 1vs1 balance example. The Warlock had no fear cause he knew the ranger was solo and he had a team behind him, buffs included. Not saying warlock isn't crazy strong but IMO it would/could go down very differently in Solos. Warlocks are brave in solo, but a quickshot can turn them away with nice gear on Ranger.

    Btw brainstorming on new classes, subclassing, skill trees, quality of life changes, gamemodes, etc. from the new personalities you bring on every week is sick, allowing for many great points to be heard from all their communities

    Artificer sounds awesome idk what the problem would be, as long as it wasn’t super high damage, give it trap/evasion focused gameplay and a clockwork summon of some kind, perks could give you access to a glider of some kind that allows gliding from elevation by pressing double space bar, gliding at 340 move speed with limited control over direction. A skill could be to create a spring board that can be used by multiple team members, and is destructible, you can combo it to glide and it would have a very long cooldown. A new unique weapon could be a clockwork repeating crossbow, with 3 shots and armour pen but lower damage. It may need a lot of balancing for multiple aspects but it sounds like it could be a fun class to add to the game

    I think arena should have pre made class kits and you choose from them, you could make a community poll like each week where people can decide what kits come next week and have never the same kit two times in a row.

    I think this is the longest podcast to date. Another good one with a fantastic guest! Feeling great about the meditate buff last night which is a good temporary band-aid fix for wizard and gives great quality of life.

    here is my very professional opinion on warlock :) i have a few idea on how to nerf it.
    -make it so they cant life-steal off their own hydra, that shit is dumb.
    -make it so they can only life steal off of 1 enemy at a time. they can curse multiple enemies at once for the damage, but only 1 will heal them. that way you can’t just curse 10 enemies and out heal all damage you take.
    -make hydra an ability. it would have a decently long cooldown so you can’t spam 4 of them in a single fight. it would also make people have to choose between hydra or phantomize. plus it would free up spell memory for more versatility.
    obviously don’t do all 3 of these, just 1 or maybe 2 and see how it affects warlock.

    How to fix Bard: Remove their proficiency in short bow. I'm less in favor of nerfing their baseline vs removing some of the toolkit that makes them too good at everything. I'd like to see their songs be more than just buffs. Off the top of my head ideas. Give song of peace a stacking movement and action speed debuff. Make accelerando a channel with high movespeed. Give them a song that charms mobs to act like your pet. That with having a strong melee component and crossbows makes me feel like they'd be more interesting and less prone to just buff spamming and bow kiting.

      Tbf I haven’t played it but all the animals seems cheap/cringe. I could see one animal done really well but it seems there are 5 that look/function weird. Makes not even want to learn it tbh. But I’m just a fighter weekend warrior.

      @@MADDcartman Bear is useful but limited, panther is strong with like 40 agility, chicken is hilariously useless except for extending panthers leap if you have the instant morph perk also selected. Rat is garbage the second anyone sees you. Full legendary gear druid has never been the issue people need to try playing >25 or>125 lobbies as druid, its rough. I play other classes and only wizard felt worse to play in solos, but wizard just got a nice buff with meditation.

    I would love an Elemental Plains map, each quadrant associated with a different element. In the center module you have a boss room where you face mini elemental bosses until you kill one of each element, and that summons a big chaotic elemental boss

    I think one of the biggest problems from warlock stems from no one building any of the magic resist gear, so maybe that gear needs buffed to incentivize running it or we need more MDR gear options.

    How to fix Wizard: Give them a knockback skill. Give them the following spells: Arcane spell: Teleport- 4xCast: 2s Teleports you to targeted location. Frost Spell: Cone of Cold- 3xCast: 1s Does 25 dmg to all targets in front of you and slows their movement by 40%. Add perk: Mana Siphon- Killing an enemy with a melee weapon gives you 40 SP. Add Perk: Crystal Resonance- When you cast a damaging spell while wielding a crystal sword your next strike will do additional magic damage based on the type of spell cast.

      @@robsasmrcade It's entirely dependent on its range. In my mind it would be similar to the range of Holy Strike. Its number of casts and cast time could be tweaked with its range to find where its balance should land. However, I do feel there is room to fit the spell and make its interaction with Intense Focus and Arcane Mastery a fun utilization of it. If it has the range of Call Lightning, then perhaps 3 casts and a 2.5s cast time would be more appropriate. A Druid would still have far more mobility, but I do really think the Wizard needs it, far more than any of my other suggestions. Wizards as a class are a combination of damage, control and trickiness. In some ways the wizard shares a lot of its role concepts with a rogue. They that relies on tricks for their defense over mitigation or health with the capability for high damage. Where a Rogue focuses more on speed and single target melee damage, the wizard brings control and area affect. Unless you're going to give the Wizard as much speed as the Rogue or much stronger control, both of which I don't really recommend, they need a reliable trick to create space.

    Desert map would be cool, where u don’t freeze to death when the game is over, u would die from hear. Tick burn dmg and visual distortion from heat start at 4 mins left, like in movies, can’t really describe. The mobs could be cool scorpions snakes and desert versions of the skeletons. So many possibility’s 🤩 there could be quick sand. The bosses could be like pharaos, u get the idea

    Everyone had great points about "DaD arena". Comparissons to ARAM and WoW and FPS games. I imagined DaD arena similar to New World 3v3s. Like Spud said about bringing in gear from dungeons, per the Devs mentioned initially. That's how New World worked and I think it was probably one of my favorite aspects of NW. I think it was best of 3 rounds. When you would die, you could sit up in the stands and watch the action / your teammates and enemies duke it out. Loved the pod! Best so far!

    I'm new to the game and have only played a wizard so far and it has been pretty rough ! I'm going to have to try warlock or cleric by the sound of it . I'm tempted by rogue and druid though, they just look fun really

      if you are already solo wizard id recommend warlock. get a falshion and lifesteal perks. cleric is a lil bit harder because you have no range and slow af

    I think another way to look at "Guilds" could be tailored questlines that unlock abilities, items, perks, spells, etc.
    For example, imagine if we had an Alchemists guild that you can progress through by collecting certain ingredients and crafting certain potions for example. Or a Hunters guild where you hunt monsters and get paid for monster drops. Just spitballing.
    Maybe progressing through that guild could give you access to special crafts, or perks that influence potions for example.
    I think we definitely need "player guilds" but I think the idea I've suggested (very briefly) could really bring out some avenues for progression in the game and even more character customization.
    This concept could easily be heavily expanded on, and could probably use a lot of systems already in the game.
    It could also potentially offer avenues for build diversity and diversity of player experiences based on what guilds they choose to join and how far they've progressed in them. It'd potentially make each character feel very different and unique, if for example you could only choose to join 2 guilds on a character. (NPC guilds)
    I think we definitely need player guilds and some sort of separate progression system for them, or at least a gameplay loop of some sorts.

    2 wizard perk ideas, cantrip replaces 1/5 spells in memory, guts its base damage and scaling, but it's infinite, obviously lock out stuff like strike, chain, and maybe fireball. The other is your first 5 rests/sits, or the first ~10 min of the match are empowered for spell recovery by like +300%

    i was a wiz main for the longest time, 2000 plus hours.(way more honestly, not going to admit) after enough neglect you head to the dark side.(warlock) maybe when the wiz gets some love and doesnt have to take a nappy nap for half the dungeon(meditate). i would go back, but the devs show warlock way more love. Yea soma, on the higher end of things barb is dead in comparison to cleric. The cleric is a problem when it smites harder than a barb and provides heals for the whole group. People are running ooga booga cleric with smite and getting buffed by a bard. its kinda unbeatable by any other comp. cleric bard comp is something my barb/warlock/ anything comp looses to everytime. we dont really high roller anymore even tho were 1-2 playtest vets. we wont change are comp to meta. #screw conformity

    Speaking of rangers I wish they would have other playstyles - my favourite ranger from D&D was a melee ranger, you pick your fighting style whether it'd be two-weapon fighting or two-handed weapon fighting. I'd love dual-wielding ranger in the game as a possible playstyle like a double scimitar wielding monster or even a longsword/war maul ranger. I hope IM at some point will think of a map that is more like a plane-shifting map. Imagine a map that would be something like an astral plane in D&D with a very particular objective and a roaming boss similar to Astral Dreadnought.

    When Soma talked about hitting the dummy for 300, he didn’t account for the fact that dummies have 0 AR and are being put into the negatives, which incurs nearly 5x the PDR penalty compared to losing a positive amount of armor

    i think wizard should have infinite spells but with a recharge timer like skills for each charge, obv not super fast nor super slow that you will be powerless if you've had a long fight

    I want to put it out there that I think the slowness and MMO-esque systems (marketplace, looting, out of game management etc) are a net positive for the game, not a detriment like soda said. I don’t think injecting pure action into people’s veins will be good for the long term of the game. I hope they maintain some of the slowness; it’s half the charm and makes the intense moments that much more intense. Very curious about the arena implementation…. Definitely hope there’s some ties to main game with it.

    I worked on Deducto 2, our Lobby has a fighting pit, parkour, editing office desks, changing clothing, drawing board. Might be a good place to look at references, people spend more time in the lobby than playing the among us style gameplay

    I was playing a Warlock the other day, fighting a Rogue. I had a shield and Falcion. He had a Rapier and a hand crossbow in different hands. We fought for about 5 minutes in the middle of Goblin Caves. He was faster than me and just ran away from me the whole time. I was being stubborn and not using spells, because I wanted to fight him. I had to run onto the extract that raises up out of the map to force a fight before he would enguage me. It was a boring as hell fight, and I felt that I had to use ranged to fight him, because he simply moved faster than I did. I feel like all classes should move the same speed NO MATTER WHAT. The only thing that should change your move speed is attacking, or casting a spell, and it should be more about playing footsies, and making or losing space. Commiting to a swing or a spellcast. You should have consiquinces for your actions, not be able to kite every class in the game the whole time.

      you just misplayed that heavily. You yourself admitted you didnt use spells, that has nothing to do with rogue lol. If you put a single DoT on him he would lose

      You missed my entire point. What would a Fighter do? Lose if he doesn't have the perk for using bows? What about Barb? Lose if he doesn't have enough Francescas? Rogues have the highes base movespeed, and can kite any class no mateer what you do. I intentionally didn't use spells to learn if there was anything else I could do. I lost, no question. However I forced him to come to me in the end. What does a melee class do in that situation to win? What if they can't force a fight with the elevator? You have to answer questions like these to improve at the game. And no, I do not automatically win that fight with one spell. He can easily swap weapons, charge me, and do just as much damage to me while I'm switching weapons and charging my spell. Write a better response.

      Yes. I'm playing with corrupting blow, bloodstained blade, and all the melee buffs to play a melee warlock. I don't like playing OP nonsense. I like to have fun and generally get better at the game. I don't care about the meta. I die more than I kill others, because I focus on having fun and making others have fun too. Losing pixels in a game is simply time, there is no real loss if I had some fun playing. I learned a TON from that fight. The Rogue played VERY well and did everything right. He got two stacks of Cobalt off me, I'm sure that was rewarding for him. I forced him into a melee fight and got the fight I wanted. I was a little miffed I had to force the fight through faking taking the extract, when he's playing a melee class, and can easily out footsie me. But he chose to kite me for 5 minutes shooting me with a crossbow, while I blocked his bolts with a shield. Felt bad man. Glad he wasn't too scared to fight me in the end and I had the chance to learn and improve from the fight. It was fun. Is it so strange to you that I play games to have fun? Is that a misplay? Do I have to play the way you want to make you happy? No. We all play differently, and I was hoping for more feedback than: "Ha ha you missplayed and lost a fight" Gimme something else man, gimme some real criticism.

    I think barbs should just have 2 franciscas per 10-20 seconds on a cooldown. We have the same problem as rangers with inventory clutter at the moment due to franciscas, which now suck, and having to take 100 health potions in due to them healing 15 health instead of a percentage health amount.

    Normals are full of skilled people, because HR is unplayable after they removed GS lobbies. It's unwinnable situation if you don't follow up with META (like 2 clerics with mage or bard), especially when all of them are full golden / around 500gs that literally 2-3 shots you in 1-2 sec.

    could add axe thrwoing in the tavern like at alot of brewerys, something interactable that evreyone can do while waiting. ( im aware not all classes can use thrwoing axes.)

    We need that card game yall talked about a few pods back. I want to go boss farming for a lich or gk card to destroy the timmys with 1-2 skelly cards in the tavern while im waiting for my match to start. ohh just spittin ideas out, the devs mentioned you could play as a mob eventually maybe but what if you could use the cards you get from the mobs in raid and deploy it in the card game and then the character controls the mob card played. like imagine how sick it would be to be a death skull just outplay someone that played a warlord card

      I would LOVE if they added a playing card game to DaD, basically like gwent or hearthstone but you have a chance to get cards as drops from mobs. (on top of normal loot and I don't think they should take up inv space) 3 versions of each mob, Normal, Elite and Nightmare, plus Boss and Mini boss cards with their own effects. You'd gain a card of a rogue or fighter if you get one to level 20 and cards of utilities like potions and traps from completing the normal in game quests. I might honestly play that more than the main game.

    HR Arena should be Ranked
    Normal arena would have normal squire kits
    HR Arena should be ranked. Could maybe have squire kits as well with higher static stats
    I think with arena dropping the main game will lose a large portion of the player base, especially since some players don’t enjoy pve or don’t care to learn how to deal with it. With that even less people will be in HR, so I believe an incentive to grind HR will make an incentive for new players to also learn normals in order to get through HR.
    If they add two arenas, normal and HR, normal could be accessed by anyone, maybe make keys that drop from mobs in order to keep normal lobbies populated
    HR arena should also have keys, make a new resource only found in HR across all maps that can be crafted into keys to not make it extremely tedious for a team to play together.

    Bard Skill Idea if they couldn't take 10 song: Enhance the next song you play to be more potent. Ie Shriek shredding more armor, Rousing Rythmns giving +3 or +4 all instead of +2. Could be a pretty long cooldown for balance. But honestly, 10 song is crucial to the class so I'm not sure there's anything that could replace it unless they added a bunch of new perks for a completely different playstyle
    Also: My friends had this idea where there could be skins that were only visible in the upcoming Tavern/Social space/Guild area. "Tavern attire" so to speak. So they would have no impact on the actual gameplay, but people could still look cool and flex cosmetics to other players. Like the limitations for those cosmetics could be really loose because they wouldn't be in the dungeon, so fuck it, allow us to buy a reskin for our longsword that's the Warlord's sword. Or a cape reskin that are Harpy wings, etc...

    I'm a warlock main so I'm biased, but I think all the warlock hate is misplaced due to what you guys said being most of the other classes not being "fully finished" so if we just start nerfing the finished classes an not bringing the others up to par it could lead to alot of problems.

    Event idea. Uber bosses like D2. A portal you can open up that brings you into a large room with Ghost King, Lich and Warlord all in one area. If you kill them all you get a special unique drop.

      I think an uber boss that drops creating items for special skins/ emotes is a much better idea. Just a quick idea from dungeons and dragons could be a curse of strahd based map where if you kill strahd, youd get something that lets you craft a vampire skin, or craft a torch where the light emenates from a floating vampire heart or something

    A guy i gamed with used esp in a few games without telling any of us and when he eventually stopped using it and showed us what it really did it was an eye opener. I knew about the "cheater wiggle" long before that tarkov video, from randoms in tarkov to entire clans in rust, cheaters recognize other cheaters and just avoid eachother because they know its so much easier to fight the normal players. You can even see peoples entire inventories, where they are looking, whether they have been afk for a bit or are active, all sorts of shit

    We actually have more than 12 queues....
    solos, duos, trios,
    -24, 25-124, 125+
    highroller,
    and 3 maps. its like 15 queues when you really think about it. Its kind of a huge problem.

      No it’s not lol every single queue pops the second u hit ready or ur group hits ready and most lobbies are full nearly every game even at super late hours or random times of weekdays unless ur in a tiny minor region. I accidentally queued 3 gamrd at 4am yesterday on the Brazilian server and they were all completely full lol

    Cleric needs mostly dmg nerfs, i would just go -3dex -3str, base dmg of judgement and holy strike reduced by 5 or so and faithfullness has to be changed, no more extra slow. And it would still be super strong in duos & trios. Bard needs Shriek duration nerf and I really like Somas idea of just 5 songs but more abilities, or have the 2nd music memory have a negative effect like -20%interaction speed and please -3 base dex & agi for bard so that its more support and less nuke.

    I personally want to see warlock heals limited in some capacity. Unlimited is just way to powerful. like have a life steal bar that they need to recover over time. or even give them spell memory with a better way to recover like they need to do with wizard. I know people will hate that one.

    Here's an idea: Arena should have no loss of gear only rating. At 0 rating you have access to a vendor similar to that of the squire you only have up to common gear. As you get rating up that vendors rep increases, and you get access to Arena only gear (can't be brought into the dungeon), it has only static stats but more than the normal stats from the dungeon gear. So that way once you get to lets say legendary arena rank, you can start wearing full legendary gear no rng stats, but you get into lobbies of all epic rank or higher, and once you get to the unique rank, which does give you access to versions of named items, you can only fight people in unique lobbies.

    In regard of arena/dungeons being a separate game mode,what if you could enter arena from the dungeon?
    Like you have to get to the "arena portal" then u get matched with someone from another dungeon to fight,it would be dope and the dungeon wouldn't remain a separate game mode.

    I’m thinking warlocks need a heal cut during phantomize, getting a curse or 2 up and taking a hit, pressing phantomize is more than just a reset, it’s now 100% health vs 50% health, like atleast a 50% heal cut during the invincibility
