When you guys were talking about reasons to loot common mobs, it reminded me of when we had event tokens like hearts and gingerbreads. During this time I always checked each mob kill to get those tokens, because they had serious value, and was more or less a global loot drop for all mobs. I don't really remember the economy at the time, so maybe all those extra tokens put out a lot of leggos or named items and it wouldn't be sustainable for normal gameplay. This was something we have already seen them do, and it is an interesting idea for making baseline mobs more useful to loot.
Would be cool if the loot that the visiting vendor had was completely unique and only available as long as the vendor was there. Would make the items a rare commodity. Might lead to alot of work for devs though so maybe its not viable.
Here is an idea of a perfect POI: There is a spot in Goblin Caves that I came across recently that has some soup over a fire and a Goblin Mage and swordsman guarding it. It looks so convincing that you could sit there to regain spells, I actually tried and I would not have been surprised if you could. A POI idea would be to make a "Goblin Kitchen" area with a permanent campfire there. Anyone can sit there any time and get the campfire effect. You don't really need to make a new mod called "Goblin kitchen" The point is, a permanent neutral campfire that anyone can sit at. Ideally it would be in a dark room, so if you are at the campfire you cannot see your surroundings while the surroundings can see you at the lit campfire.
I agree that nightmare mobs are annoying, because they dont drop good enough. At somepoint shortly after playtests they buffed crates like crazy and later on buffed chests, the mobs have been left behind. Seing a thanos should make you both exited for the reward and scared to get killed.
Because of SoBadStrange I now queue primarily goblin caves and I learned the Cyclops by dying like 50-60 times. Here's why I'm telling this story. Last night I was playing and I killed the Cyclops with my buddy. My buddy got killed by the Cyclops right. So I'm looting the room by myself and as I'm looting the room, I left the door open and I thought to myself I better close that door. By the way, me and my buddies are Duo and we're in a trios so now I'm solo taking on trios. So I walked up and closed the door and went back down and started looting again. I pretty much finished the gold pile besides like one pull. Then I hear people going into the boss room so I had an invis pot that I got from the loot pile. I walked up by the door when I heard him starting to open the door to the loot room I drank the invis pot and they all walk past me down into the loot room and I closed the door and ran away and ran to a blue and got away and it was like the most clutch thing I ever did and my whole gaming experience. This was probably the most exhilarating moment of my life so I thought I would share it with you guys. Great podcast! Y'all are my heroes!
Had to bring a buddy there to finish his quest yesterday. We got in PvP everytime for 5 straight runs. Losing to Warlocks or getting 3rd partied. Great times! ❤
I would like to see some kind of Boss Arena Mode for the bosses to learn , just the group, no other people. Cost alot of server capacity i get that. But there must be some way to bring more people to actual bossing and prepare them without risking everything they have. Killing the boss could reward a token for everyone and you could spent those tokens like 3-5 for a purple and nothing else. They could implement this in some time of a limited event for the weekends or so. Same goes to solo bosses btw cyclops and troll
Gotta say. Fighter is the most unrewarding boring class in the game outside longsword. I think the class is literally w key dps or ranged dps with a penalty lol. The class is horribly boring and the play styles are boring variants of w key dps or sit there and shoot at people but with less damage. I also think victory strike is genuinely dreadful still. The heal is irrelevant with how easy it is to heal. +20% physical power as an active skill is pathetic lol. Trying to make use of the other skills while sprint was over nerfed really made it prominent how bad fighter skills are still in relation to the viable play styles the class has. Literally 20ms sprint was still better than almost everything else outside taunt second wind full tank for trios simple cuz 20ms is so impactful in the game still Also calling the timmies in ice caves sea turtles was hilarious lol Good ass podcast. Enjoying listening while packing this whole ass house for my parents >.>
I love D2 but your idea of norm/nm/hell only works I think if your power is more tied to your characters level rather than the gear. The skills unlocked and the points put into skills is what allows you to progress to hell and the gear are just nice perks that help of course generally speaking.
What about adding perks on races? Give lizards slightly better vision in darkness. Give elves ability to hear steps slightly further etc. Just subtle perks though so they are not necessarilly mandatory, but to make them more unique besides just different stats.
40:57 wow classic's system was the opposite. If you got grand marshal and stopped queueing AV 18 hours a day, you would lose the rank in literally 8 hours tops.
I've been thinking about a 3rd button for a while, but I thought that a good one for fighter would be to have a different way to swing a weapon. Like some weapons, have 2 different swings with left and right clicks. Fighter is a duelist and can use every weapon.
Great episode. Would the highway express man be free? Would however you change your perks/abilities/skills be free? It would be cool to maybe use a soul heart as an alternative currency like now you can store x items or if it’s a fee maybe the soul heart reduces the fee.
The limited time raid game mode with a ticket system is genius. Run the ticket system like league does for those clash tournaments with two types of tickets. One is essentially free and beyond super easy to get and the other is a 'premium' ticket that would give you increased rewards for the run.
I think the fact that nightmares do more damage is fine to punish mistakes. What i dislike is that they are so tanky, that it takes so long to kill them
Literally for the abyss boss, if there are not enough people, the souls of the opposing players who have been killed can be put on the altars for unlocking, and that's how the boss is unlocked. More pvp and finally opponent souls would benefit
Unfortunately my email associated with my D&D acc was hacked and they changed the info for my login. I filed a ticket to support but I haven’t heard anything back. Can’t unlink account from steam either
Replacing windshields while I listen to yall yap, couldnt be a better day, and I don’t even play anymore (was actually detrimentally addicted and not enough of a gamer)
If we get that raid Queue we NEEED GUILDS. I really want to join a small community to gear up with, and if im the guild master i get a few gold per run from all of the members (membership fee/tax) MMORPG player but still would be so fun. Guild leaderboards? Cant wait to see any direction that DaD goes in.
As a Druid main I'm not a fan of Dreamwalk. Never use it, it has fucked me up more than it has helped. I'd much rather it give you some flat PDR, %movespeed, and to offset it it lowers your physical power
@_Soma For me, it just removes my agency a bit too much. Maybe if Druid heals scaled a bit so I can focus on supporting in the dreamwalk state, it'd feel a lot better. I've had multiple times where they just turned to my team and killed them while I couldn't do a thing to help.
Since you are all invested in the game so much...does anyone know how are the devs taking feedback in? There is no feedback channel on the discord. I know they are koreans so clearly a language barrier...plus this game is mostly a western success, it ain't big in Asia at all. Where do they look for feedback?
WAIT I HAVE AN IDEA. Make a trials of Osiris and it starts on Friday and you have to win 7 in a row and go to the "Lighthouse" or maybe earn currency for each win to cash in on gladiator cosmetics??
A druid ability 'flourish' that healed a flat amount if you or your teammate is nature touched or in the passive aoe maybe. Probably to op but oh it would be cool
If I am not mistaken - it's the nightmare skeleton with the axe. As for why that name? I'm not sure, probably because that thing rips through everything and hacks you to pieces if you don't know how to deal with it.
The best way they could create more content and retain players, in my opinion, without bloating the game would be to either randomize mob spawn locations or add more attack animations to the mobs. Clearing rooms/fighting mobs becomes stale after a little while because it's all very predictable.
Boo to stopping new classes at sorcerer, should stop when they have all 12 done. You NEED all 12 to make true class balance, true multiclassing, and for true map balance. What if they stop and do the character over hauls this blows ni suggesting, it will just make it so upn the next class release they have even more factors to deal with in terms of class balance. Also considering they look at play style to define map needs, if you stop at 10 and the last 2 classes break your levels designed for the 20 classes. This has alredy happened to DaD, all cases mentioned have been Dec mentioned issues. So I say make all 12 then balance, it's stupid otherwise.
I'm surprised they all agreed that ice caves feels empty. When you know all the spawns its very easy to find people. I have never had a problem with that.
i know yall dont talk about balance every episode but the landmine rogues are back and it feels so terrible. I wish they would remove invis. it never feels good in any game to die to. not sure why they gave them 20% more armor pen and still kept ambush the same. insane to me that a dagger can two shot me at 140 health and 35% pdr. i believe ambush and/or stealth should be removed. What do you think rogues should be given instead?
only problem with what u guys are suggesting is that it caters to the uber sweats and things like the 5 player raid isnt practicle considering most people wont want to go risk it with randoms when ur shit can just get jacked
He's 100% right, HR is harder just for the sake of being harder. It sucks to play, it's just artificial difficulty where everything just has its numbers juiced. It's not like they have wildly different attack patterns, there's not new mobs, the maps are the same, there's nothing exciting about HR. It's just hard for no good reason. Normals for life.
weird everyone said GC wsa great but it is still like a useless run to me the boss fights are so lame the corridors are real bad for pvp and the goblin movement and animation is all bad.

Abyss is a W to me, just hit demigod on solo rogue yesterday. I hope to see a goblin cave hell variant, ruins return, and more unique classes!

Here's an idea for dungeon recovery:
Otto is randomly placed in the dungeon.
Whoever finds him can interact and he will take items back for you.

I wish Druid could use Lightning ability’s with a Mace get that Enhancement shaman feeling
I like the "loot lock out" idea for the raid mechanic. So down for big raids.
Yo, don't you dare to touch shriek! Leave that only tool bards have for damage alone! You take that away and solo bard is dead.
