GHPC will blend game and simulation in just the right amounts, providing awesome fire control and ballistics simulation behind deceptively simple controls. This core feature set serves as the foundation for a rich single player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and (eventually) cooperative multiplayer modes: a satisfying option for every taste. And let's not forget about infantry and support units - tanks weren't built to fight alone. AI-controlled combined arms forces will round out the tactical environment and let armored units shine the way they were meant to.

So excited for this game to get infantry, combined arms is such an important factor that very few games even attempt to depict
This game needs multiplayer so badly, what a great game!
If you're keeping up they're working on completing the game first.
It's on the roadmap but obviously they need time to make the game. Impatience leads only to dissatisfaction.

@@creatorsfreedom6734 this isn't Hodd Toward. They haven't promised 32X more detailed maps or whatever. It's a small dev team who are not making insane promises. I'm working to give them a lot more benefit of the doubt than Cyberpunk 2077 or FO76 or NMS.
9:08 I've learned not to get too close to burning tanks in Steel Beasts, having been damaged by ammo cooking off well after they were killed.
I'd love it if this had missions with characters, story and length/complexity and scale of the old operation flashpoint / arma missions involving armour and combined arms.
Fun instant action scenario. Enemy is well placed and can hurt you if you are in a hurry. I prefer to attack from Blue right flank after clearing the BMP screen.
I've had 9k111 units tear me up in this mission
Another great vid! Arty barrages in this game are truly frightening, can feel the close impacts down to your virtual bones. At 1:54, you captured a new feature of the CRT screen flicker caused by main gun shooting. At 11:30, your AAR showed how lucky you were to have HEAT loaded, because an AP round might of just put the 9K111's focus on you which is less than optimal. Happy 4th!

need to start playing this again. brings back memories at a Marine TOW gunner on Jeeps and early slant backs and then when I went Army in M1IP's good game
This game has sat in my wishlist ever since “Dollarplays” made a vid showcasing the game. Gotta say the amount of improvement in less than a year makes me really wanna just buy it.
You could just buy it and support the further development. I've already gotten more than 30 hours of play for my less-than 30 dollar purchase price (bought it right after they launched on steam with a discount).
If you don't have a pc that can run DCS on medium then don't even bother trying to play the game, the game is so horribly optimized it looks worse that a goldsource game and you still get crashes and low fps
I bought it and think it's good fun. I haven't touched it for about 4 months though so I can see how much they developed it. I get updates for it about once a month.

Dev here. Don't buy til you're ready brother. We develop very lean and aren't hurting for cash. We prefer satisfied customers to money "right now."

1. Lay down smoke on the hamlet to your left flank to blind the ATGM teams and then across the enemy positions. This will leave the enemy blind to your movements and moving through the smoke to take each enemy AFV under fire. The Soviets/WP do not have thermal vision. Take advantage of that fact.

Your mission intro is an example of small details that currently are missing which would add so much more feel to this game which while is an excellent simulation lacks the completeness of a full game.
The takes me back to the days of Microprose M1 Tank Platoon II
When no need of multiplayer since the game was awesome with singleplayer and campaigns. This is like a spiritual successor. I hope they keep singleplayer as far as possible. Better add more content for singleplayer. Later later later...maybe multiplayer xD
Just over the weekend I was fooling around with Arma 3 CSLA DLC and was like yeah that is a bit similar to Gunner Heat.
Until a Hind decided to crash the party (and my platoon of 3 Abramses).
They just refined the Brad's fire control system on the 19th. The thing is even more lethal now

Firing after a "Cease Fire" command triggered me a little
Real life the Bradley’s would have supported(with TOW) an Abrams attack(cause Armor). Played this mission and flanked to the right with the Bradley Platoon. Encountered a lot more enemy fire lol

First video I've watched of this game. The enemy AI seems to be very much a work in progress. Also quite strange there was no infantry. I assume the game is at alpha stage?
Yes I've heard it's a small dev team working on the game and it's still in it's early days.
However they keep working on it and updating it which is great.
There is infantry albeit they are only in static weapons. But they do have a dev stream once in a while(tittle of the game is there channel name.)

Quick question, how realistic is it that the west is fielding enough abrams to be a main line tank at the point and time of the game? And what tanks and variants are available to the east germans at this point?
For the east germans, they used various early T-72 Models (T-72M, T-72M1) and T-55A, the most numerous being the T-55s. They received modernized T-55AM tanks sometime around 1987, and prior to that the basic T-55A was by far their most numerous tank. Poorly equipped to face off with Abrams by any standard.
For the united states, I dont remember the exact figures but there were just under 1000 Abrams tanks in Europe, some of them upgraded to the M1IP standard by 1985 (the time the game takes place). Their most numerous tank would still be the M60A3 TTS and M60A1 Rise passive.
During this time, American depleted uranium rounds M774 and M833 were well on their way to replace the old tungsten M735 rounds, which would be fallen back on in the event of shortages of the newer penetrators.
Once west Germany is added they will have leopard 2 and variants of the leopard 1 (Leopard 2A3 is the newest variant possible in 1985) and they would be using 120mm DM23 and 105mm DM23 as their primary AP rounds.
The soviets will have T-64A obr 1982, T-62, T-80B, and T-64B. Kontact 1 ERA would be very unlikely to appear, as there is only evidence of it being equipped in the later months of 1985 in small numbers.
The devs have not confirmed the top AP round for the soviet 125mm guns, but it is known they will be more effective than the currently depicted 3bm15 the east Germans are currently stuck with against the frontal hull armor of the Abrams.

The addition of multilayer would convince me to buy it.
It's in their roadmap, but of course it won't be instant. It's a team of like 4 dudes. You could just look up the game site or whatever before making comments like this.

I'm merely stating a fact or making an observation, which is that if it's multiplayer/co-op and I could play it with my best mate, then I would be more inclined to make a purchase. I'm not having a go at the makers of the game. You're obviously the type who feels the need to defend their honour. Not that I was attacking anyone's honour. But if it makes you feel more a part of the GHPC community, have fun with that.

Quite frankly, the most unrealistic aspect of this game is the weather- I'm from Hannover and the amounts of blue-skies this game has is totally unrealistic. Grey skies and drizzle should be default. Perhaps snow sometimes :D

The irony of what we’re observing in Ukraine now shows that what happened in Iraq was neither a fluke nor due to another country using Russian equipment, but being completely swept off the map by US forces (or anyone’s forces, really) is par for the failure course that is the Russian army. The real reason Russian never invaded West Germany wasn’t out of fear of being nuked, but from knowing of their own poor structure, equipment, tactics, and non-existent logistics… the only one to either not get the memo or not care at all is Putin.

Wolfpack makes it look easy, with a lot of skill and a little bit of movie magic. it's actually pretty difficult, especially if you don't reposition yourself against orders or do a mission for the first time.
