A belated massive heartfelt thank you Chris, you're wonderful kind gesture really moved me. Cheers for everything you do, hope you and yours stay well.
Your crops always look magnificant, just like those leeks. You must be very dedicated to care so well for so many growing spaces, my small garden patch keeps me busy.
Thanks, Brenda; they sure keep me busy and can be slightly overwhelming at autumn harvest time. Having said that, I'm looking forward to the warm summer months and being outside more often. Happy gardening 😊
That was a rather magnificent harvest Chris! I'm quite envious of your rhubarb. It's one of my favourite harvests, but I divided mine last autumn, so they are out of bounds this year while they get re-established.
Oh everything is inside here as morning this week have been minus 1c 🥶🥶. But mid day it’s all seedling shuffle, except the toms and peppers they are hiding in the house. Have a super weekend Chris, Ali 🥶🌞🇨🇦
Cheers Ali, it's dropped down to 3 degrees here this weeks so I'm doing the seedling shuffle too, the trouble is I keep forgetting until it's dark 🫣 and cold and wet! Have a great weekend too 👍
Wonderful harvest. Great video- so many topics covered - so interesting. Thank you for sharing. My aubergines, black beauty & dragon, are quite large now, they have suddenly got infested with aphids and besides rubbing them off, I am not sure how else to deal with them, (organically). They have really blistered the leaves. My tomato plants are quite small as I only sowed them about 10 days ago. I have pricked them out into individual pots. I think I have about 50 plants, this includes my hanging basket variety and some for other people. Can't wait for my first tomato and ,my first potato. Two crops whose flavour can not beaten or matched by a supermarket! Also looking forward to my first strawberries and runner beans. I love the Summer harvest. Still cropping purple sprouting, cabbage and leeks. Lot of salad growing in containers too. Making a rhubarb crumble for dessert tonight. Happy gardening 🙂
I heard it somewhere and it made sense at the time. I think it’s because they are last year’s baby onions and so if they go through a cold spell they think they’ve been through winter and so need to get on and flower.
That looks a decent crop of Rhubarbs sadly nearly all my Rhubarbs have rotted away after vine weevil. I use forks for removing seedlings as I find two each side helps keep the compost from falling away from the seedlings. Great video🫡👍l
I split the crowns about 2/3 years ago and they seem to have taken well. I haven't heard of vine weevil doing that but it must be annoying and frustrating too, will you get new crowns at some popint? There are so many ways to loose crops in the garden that it's a miracle anything grows sometimes.
@@veggieplot I grew 50 plants from seeds last year and still have a dozen of those left but I've planted some in 60 litre tubs with the tubs sitting in a small plastic kids paddeling pool, this acts as a water barrier to stop the vine beetle getting to them and also stops slugs.
Hello. Do you feed your purple sprouting broccoli ? I grow them every year but they re never great… this year I m building a sturdier netting for them because the wood pigeons ate the leaves … growing Romanesco Cauliflower too. 😊
I believe I fed them when I was preparing the ground but other than that it's only what remains of the cow manure and seaweed that's below the green waste compost. They grew so tall I expect I didn't think to during the year. I tried Romanesco once, quite amazing looking but I think cauliflowers are something I need to work on 🫤. Do you do anything special to them?
@@veggieplot I have grown them before , reached the size of my hand , lack of water I think . So I’m trying again. They taste better than normal cauliflower I find.
🐝Thanks for the great video🌻Some nice looking rhub's
Can't beat some homegrown fresh rhubarb, especially with a sprinkling of ground ginger 😋

You are more than welcome Debs and I hope they do better than the last lot. Happy gardening 🌱

Hey Chris.
Lovely harvest. Looking forward to more soon 👏🏽☺️🌱
Thank you and me too, it's going to be a bumper year I think. Happy gardening 🌱
Great harvest, Chris, and a lovely video 😊 💚🌿
Ah, thank you, it made a change from sowing seeds 🙂
Lovely harvests there! 🌱🌱
Thanks Joe 👍🏻
Brilliant harvest Chris, the leeks and celiac looked amazing 😊
Thank Tracy, celiac in tubs is the way to go for me now. They never worked on the allotment.
Lovely healthy harvest Chris .Might try Celeriac in tubs 🙂
Lovely abundance in the hungry gap. Jo Devon 🙂
I think I keep things in the ground too long sometimes, almost like a extra larder 😅.
Great video and wonderful harvest, also thank you for the tip using a fork for the seedlings 🌱 😊
Thank you and the fork is such a useful tool in the potting shed, I can't remember who I heard it from, a few years ago though now. Happy gardening 🌱

Great harvest! Those rhubarb are gorgeous. I'm a few weeks away from harvest....but I can taste the rhubarb and cherry crumble.
Sounds delicious, I haven’t tried rhubarb with cherries, I must make a note of it 😋

Oh your garden sounds wonderful, and summer will be bountiful with all those tomatoes. Are you growing inside and out?
@@veggieplot growing inside and outside. beefsteak tomatoes inside, some salds in and some out and the basket cherry tomato outside.
👍
Thanks Locke 👍
I didn't know about that about sets!
