The wheelie bin carrots method might be a brilliant idea as they can be pushed into the Polytunnel as the weather gets cold and wet and keep them growing through the winter.
I’ve bought a little solar watering system but I need a water butt which I hope to pick up this weekend. Veg hospital you should put red food colour in it 😂😂. Have a marvellous weekend Chris, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦
@@veggieplot I'd add, don't rely on the "calibrated" drip scale, judge it per plant as they are in no way accurate, especially if they are not cleaned often (algae etc)
I had a similar system 2yrs ago but it didn't work that well with me you have it set up better, I have some of my tomatoes using a wick system and see hkw it goes but the waather is still rather cool and not warming up that much.
@@veggieplot It's a simple DIY pot with 2 wicks running through the 20 litre bucket, I have a washing up pan where I put the homemade feed and I've not touched it for 2 weeks and the plants are growing well so far.
As a kitchen gardener I am especially appreciative, that you are developing a kitchen garden Chris 🤗🌱💚 I learn something new from every episode 🌱💚
Ah, thank you Lynda, I am looking forward to developing the kitchen garden at home, I am sure it'll take some time but the journey will be fun.

I hadn't thought about bringing them in but I think it's a great idea. Thank you.
I've been really enjoying your videos Chris! Full of food ideas, and your plot is one for us amateurs to aim for! Keep it up!
Thank you so much Richard, I appreciate the feedback 👍
The Polytunnel looks more like an ICU unit😁.
😂 😂 it does, doesn't it
clever idea chris, i expect nothing less from you and your gadgets!!! Those carrots look awesome!!!! Danny 🌱
Cheers Danny, we love our gadgets don't we? 😂 😂 Perhaps you could grab some from work.
HAHA! another reminder of work lol @veggieplot wait until you see my latest gadget!!! Haha!
Great update 💚🌿... and as sunny as ever in your garden again 😀 ☀️
😂 😂 it's always sunny in Cornwall

😂 😂 it does resemble an ICU unit in the polytunnel at the moment, happy gardening to you too Ali, I hope the pump worked out.
I used the medical drip-feed idea last year on my giant swedes - it worked! Well, it saved me worrying for sure.
That's great to hear Steve, fingers crossed they're working for me too.

I put in some peas to day .Great vid
Thanks Con, I have to sow some more in the next few days.
Would be interesting to see what difference to watering if one of your baskets was mulched. Im using dried grass clippings.
Thank you for this comment as it gave me a great idea, although not using grass clippings. I'm going to feature it in a future video.
Have you tried an inversion table for the back as I find it great for stretching the back gently.
I haven't and although it's much better, it still twinges when beding down. I'll look it up.
@@veggieplot I use it in tandem with a pull ups bar do straight arm hangs between each set on the inversion table this stretches more muscles.

Oh, I'd love to know how the wicking system works. Did you purchase it or is it home made?

Have you grown Greek Gigantes beans.
No I haven't, are they any good?
