  • This was a quick trip out to the Buffalo National River (Centerpoint Trailhead) to do a quick overnight and explore the "Goat Trail" and Hemmed in Hollow (Falls). Well, there wasn't enough water flowing at the falls to make any "stunning" video; but it is still impressive. Total trip distance was ~12 miles round trip (all downhill then all uphill) and really is a good central location to see some of the Buffalo's scenic wonder!

Thanks for the video Pete. In my younger days I used to canoe the Buffalo and fell in love with the country. I am 63 now and do not have the strength to explore this beloved treasure anymore and your video brought back many fond memories of mine when I explored the river first hand. Thank you again I subscribed to your channel so I can feel young again God Bless you.

Nice work Pete. I camped near your first crossing in September. That's a tough hike back up but it is worth it. What a treasure we have here in Arkansas.

Good...like it....Pete, don't you ever hurt your feet crossing creeks barefoot? You're making me want to get out there...and it's Thursday. Thanks for sharing. I see your wife got a break from shuttling.

My feet absolutely hurt after barefoot crossings...more so from the cold than from the rocks...but it's all uncomfortable anyway you look at it LOL. I won't do "wet shoe hiking" in the colder winter temps, so I just find it easier to take 'em off and keep 'em dry and just tough it out. Temps above 50*?...I just crash right on through the water and walk it off...no worries :) My wife kids with me all the time that she should open up a shuttle service for hikers and such, cuz she knows all the great trailhead locations and the fastest way to get there. Take care and thanks for watching!

Would you happen to know the trail names if I wanted to look this up on Alltrails? And could you recommend some means of doing a loop? I backpack and much prefer loops. :)

Which trail is the cabin off of? I would like to check that out?

Kick2Crash The cabin is located just off the "Centerpoint Trailhead" which can be found off the side of Hwy. 43, just North of Ponca. The trail Is about 3.5 miles down to the Buffalo River with the Henderson Cabin about a 1/4 mile from the bottom.(THer is a sign and short spur, easy to see) Also , you can access Hemmed in Hollow from this trail if the river levels are low enough. Thanks for watching & take care!
