    I’m planning to do this trail in the spring. So I’ve watched a lot of UA-cam videos on the trail. Yours is by far the best at showing the beauty of the trip. Thanks for sharing!

      I appreciate that, Dan! I’m definitely a show the trail kinda guy. Ha, Spring will be a perfect time for the BRT - hopefully all those waterfalls will be rolling for ya!

    I live in Garfield and am prepping for this trip next year. May most likely. I plan to linger and fish a lot.

      The Buffalo River is a perfect place to linger! Ha, check out the Old River Trail if water levels aren’t too high.

    Very nice video! We did the BRT in 2016 and loved it!! We are hoping to get back to the area soon to do some of the other trails in the area! Thanks so much for sharing your adventure!

    Wow...great job on all the extra efforts showing your subs the views. I lost count on how many water crossings you did 3 times for those great shots. I heard about your channel on Get - out, he gave you a great shout out. Great video. 👍

    Truly great video! Those color changes are just breath-taking. My brother and I kayaked about 35 miles down the Buffalo from Ponca in May 2019 but I was wanting to do this hike as well, hopefully before the end of this year. Were the ticks still an issue when you went? And did you have the BOC shuttle your vehicle to Pruitt?

    • @DixonHikes
      @DixonHikes  4 роки тому +1

      I appreciate that, C Norman, & thanks for watching. This hike was done late October 2019, & I don’t remember ticks being an issue. BOC did shuttle my car to Pruitt for around $60. Highly recommended the BRT! Most people skip the section from Boxley to Ponca & I’m not sure why. I loved that stretch.

    Love that BRT man! Hope to do some of it later this winter. Job promotion has me in OKC a good bit.

      Good to hear from you, Timothy. Congrats on that promotion!
      I almost called it off, given the forecast. So glad I went - every drainage was gettin’ it, waterfalls around every corner! More elk on trail than people. Pretty awesome.

      Chris Dixon I know! Weather can make or break some trips! I’ve done this trail numerous times but love the “leaf off” time best.
      I made two great trips to CO this year. Plan to finish the OT this winter and am scheming for 2020. The WInds are calling again and I want to do some PNW on the PCT too.

    Nice video! One thing about hiking when the rain comes is that you tend to get a lot of solitude, which I really like. Did you encounter any other backpackers?

    • @DixonHikes
      @DixonHikes  4 роки тому +2

      You & I both, James! I had this 37 mile trail all to myself. 👌🏼

    Nice video, thanks for sharing! Do you recall how frequent the camping opportunities were? I'm thinking of taking someone who doesn't like to do more than 5 or 6 miles in one day. Also, any idea if the water crossings become problematic in the spring?

    • @DixonHikes
      @DixonHikes  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching! Highly recommend downloading the Guthook app, & purchasing the BRT map ($4.99 I think). It will show you most, but not all, campsites along the BRT. This hike was done after several days & inches of rain - the only water crossing I think that could be sketchy would be Indian Creek @ mile 20.4, if I recall it was just over knee deep, but moving pretty good.
