I am an avid Buffalo Hiker. I uploaded a video of taking my nephews out for their first ever hike - anywhere. Love your video. Love hiking anywhere between Boxley and the White River. Favorite trip was a two week hike around elephant head and bear cave. Loved the area around Hemmed In Hollow. Prefer my hikes in the winter, less bugs, snakes and people. This is one of the greatest areas in the USA. Keep on hiking and posting videos Bro!
oh yeah, we're gonna hit the trail alright....dunno about finding that knife but who knows, stranger things have happened. But yeah take a good look cuz we're going to be out there as soon as the weather gets better.....it's gonna be saaaaawwweeeeeet!
Ya I was totally kidding about the knife. Equipment is made to use. I'm getting geared up, although I will need you to help fine tune stuff. Remember I am a pack mule. I am used to carrying everything I need plus a 10% contingent supply just in case. We'll get it sorted and learning is half the fun.
Wish I could get out there but work beckons...bummer! Have a great trip though....I recommend checking out Hemmed in Hollow and the Goat Trail if you get the chance...neat stuff! Happy Trails!
The tarp in that video was the stock rain fly that comes w/ the HH. It is fine for what it does , but I have since upgraded to a 8'x10' silnylon flat tarp from Ettowah Outfitters that offers way more coverage, pitch options, and versatility IMHO. I can also use it on a stand alone basis if I'm using my tent or by itself for the occasional cowboy camps
I was dropped off at Boxley on a Fri. and picked up at Pruitt on Sun. I think the canoe service @ Ponca will shuttle you back to your car (for a fee of course) if you can plan it that way.
Pete! Neighbor showed me a video last night of this "cool guy" hiking the Buffalo, and it was you! I hiked at least 15 miles out there yesterday. Awesome footage! How does one get in touch with you? Zippy
what would you say is the best part of the buffalo to hike I want to hike it in the spring but I don't know what part to hike. I don't plan on hiking more than 15 miles
LOL! Howdy stranger! To be honest with you Zippy, this is the first time someone I know has seen/commented on my videos (other than people I tell) so that's great to know "cool guys" are gettin some hits on YT! Glad you enjoyed! If I remember right, you've spent some time down at the Buffalo, so you know just how great it is there. give me a shout sometime....we could do some miles! bitterbuffalo76@gmail.com
Good video. I have not yet hiked the Boxley to Ponca part of the trail but I hope too soon. I enjoy your videos. Thanks for posting them.
