  • Do you believe that God still speaks to us through His Holy Spirit? In this episode, I talk about how we found our brand new homestead, and how intricately God was in it all. How He led us away from one home, to find this home. How He gave me a dream about our future daughter, and more. God still speaks to us, we just have to be willing to listen.

What a wonderful story Amy! It’s such a shame people believe that the Holy Spirit doesn’t speak to us. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit a couple of months ago and I’m desperately seeking His counsel and voice to guide me also in whether we should move or not, and where. I believe that He will answer me and I refuse to believe that Jesus gives us the Holy Spirit to leave us in the same position as before we got Him.

In my secret podcast I have in my head---I wanted to tackle this subject. The enemy WANTS us to live as surface and UNspiritually weak as possible.
Living in the flesh and with emotion as much as possible.
The two ways he does that the most efficient:
Make "the devil" taboo and make the Christian think anything "too supernatural" is too.
Our Farmstead story was the SAME. ABBA told me out of thin air... "Look for your house in the country."
I thought I was going to be a little bitty with gnarled, arthritis-filled hands...
    But alas.
He wanted our kids here. He wanted THIS kid here.
    So.
Second house I saw listed---the one that was just "too perfect and that couldn't possibly be within my reach" was ours---and the rest is now making Foreverstead history.
Keep speakin'! The battle is just getting started.

    Thank you.
This is the first time I’ve listened to your podcast. I feel God brought me here to hear Him.
I’m definitely on a detour right now. Last Thursday I had to call Hospice to help my 94 yr old Mother-reason being my 73 yr old brother, who is her primary care giver fell and broke his femur. My SIL and I can’t lift her…now she is failing quickly. My brother had to have surgery, consisting of plates and screws, and today went to a rehab facility. I’ve not been included in her finances; she has no Will, there is no Estate Executor; no POA and she is no longer of sound mind. It’s up to me to get her final arrangements made-also, she has a different religious belief than I am, and I’m having a very challenging time getting in touch with anyone that she would want to fulfill her religious requests… I have a sight issue and I cannot drive at night. I live 100 miles round trip from my brothers house. This situation has greatly taken it’s toll on me and I’m so very exhausted. However your podcast gave me hope that I’m “detoured” on this path of my journey for a reason. So instead of pushing through this and making myself keep going-I’m going to rest. I’m going to be still and listen.
    Thank you so very much.
    Gods Blessings to you.

(AKA Susie Ban Dana) Good Word Amy! I'm so happy you are where God wants you to be and are being blessed. If Mick and I didn't believe God was leading us and based our decisions on common sense and circumstances only, we would have divorced 2 years into marriage (now married 54 years), we wouldn't have gone to college (no way we could move a family out of state with no money), we wouldn't have chosen the correct college (they didn't have the major my husband wanted), and wouldn't have tithed our money (which came back many times over). I'm all for using common sense in every day situations, but when you pray about something and God leads you in a certain direction, even if it doesn't make perfect sense, TRUST AND OBEY. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge HIM and HE will direct your path!" Proverbs 3:5-6. Seek Him and act on faith, and remember faith and presumption are not the same thing. The Holy Spirit is the key, in both big and little things.

Hey, I'm glad you put this on YT. I dont have podcast but I listen to YT videos while doing chores. (So I don't even see the messy background. 😉)
Really appreciate the reminder to be listening for God's voice and direction.

The reformed movement is alive and well and in homeschooling/homesteading communities. It is very Pharacee like and doesn’t allow a spirit-led life. God ABSOLUTELY speaks to us in many ways today!!! We have a similar homestead story. I love that you’re a fellow Joseph sister. I love that you have a pure heart and haven’t fallen into the theology of the reformed. Too many pastors are Calvanists today. Soteriology 101 on You Tube is a wonderful channel by Leighton Flowers. Many are waking up to this lifeless, prideful theology and allowing the Holy Spirit full reign. ( The Hebrew Roots theology has also infiltrated the homesteading/homeschooling sector as well. Be careful.) What a great podcast!! Love to hear our ALIVE God working and moving in the body of Christ!! 🙌🏻❤️

This is so interesting to me. Our first home was a small log cabin that needed a lot of work we lived there for 4 years and did what we could with the money we had, we were able to sell and close on the sale in september of 2021 the person who bought our house gave us until november 1st to either find a home to buy or rent... we found our 2nd house and closed on it on October 29th- divine timing. Although, I knew when I saw our now 2nd house listed that we would live here it actually doesn't even feel like home to me and we have lived here a year now. I keep telling my husband that there is just ONE MORE home- I can feel it. He doesn't want to move again but I just know that this 2nd house is a stepping stone.

Your videos/podcasts are a respite from the world and confirmation that God is always present, always speaking and guiding us. God bless you, your husband and your beautiful children. May He abundantly bless your new property as well. Keep sharing the Word. You're in my prayers...Ellen

Without going into a long back story I had an experience very much as you did. I have shared it with multiple family and friends. The words I chose were " God Driven." It came when I was in the last phase of becoming a Christian after being lost wandering for many , many years. I am still amazed now beginning my fourth year in my sweet cabin . Thank you for sharing.

Amen! Thank you for sharing your testimony! As you said, always test everything against what the Bible says...God's voice will not go against the Bible. The devil will give us half truths to get us astray, so important to know what the Bible says. Always remember Jesus Christ is the same yesterday today and forever (Hebrews 13 8)

Thank you for sharing the way God speaks to you. It gives me courage and patience that perhaps my life is simply meant to be better than I envisioned it. I keep hoping to live close to my daughter on the ground I inherited but must get out of the house that I bought which flooded right after I bought it. It has taken a year and a half to find a construction worker to work on this 120 yr old house so I can get it fixed and put it back on the market I look forward to not paying utilities and expenses on two properties. I need to recover the investment back from the property I bought and consolidate investment money to afford building where I would want to. I am the third generation living on this family farm and it was a childhood dream to one day be here. It is incredible how God works in ways you least expect him to. I am so happy for you, congratulations on the new blessings of child and home.

Wow yes I had 5 miscarriages and found out I had luteal (I may be spelling it wrong) phase defect, which means I didn't produce enough of progesterone! I had an herbal Yam cream from Mexico that I used and it turned out to be 60% derivative of progesterone, long enough for me to get 100% and maintain my pregnancy. I prayed 🙏 soo hard for a baby. She is now less than a month away from turning 18.💗

Listening now 😊 So lovely to hear from you!
Seems to me these individuals are modern day Sadducees. I believe my God is actively working in my life. He cares about all things big and little.
Sadly, too many people believe they shouldn't bother him with the minutia. He has told us to cast all of our cares on Him. We and our minutia matter😊.
Loving your story of how God has worked His will in your lives!

Amen, and Amen, Amy!!! I am reading through the Bible for the first time, this year. As I read, I am seeing God’s intimate relationship with those who love Him. Walking with God is a daily commitment to being willing to conform our will to His will. The governing principles are that God is sovereign over everything, and scripture is complete, and the inspired word of God. It is all that we need for life and godliness-sola scriptura. If we humbly walk in these principles, He will walk with us through this life. Scripture tells us to listen to Him, read our Bible, listen for the Holy Spirit, be humble, and seek wise counselors. The goal is a daily relationship of walking with Almighty God, which is holiness. Above all God requires obedience to Him. Be wise, listen to God, and give Him first place in your life. He is trustworthy!!!

I'm sorry to comment again but I'm still upset that we're not supposed to speak to God? To me that's the opposite of what our relationship with Him should be. Yes, crazy ministers have used this but He speaks to us all and listening to Him is exactly what we need to do in these trying times.
God bless you! You're doing God's work. Thank you!

Can you still love me ■ God places and keeps me where I wish not; it limits me to continually be in communication with him, at nearly sixty if eternity is a long time for delayed reward, then he has really projected his increase to others in this time. The life of Jesus was not what today's standards of abundance, and the life of Paul is not what the testimonies I hear today.

HE most certainly does. Did you know our Creator, our Heavenly Father has a Name? It is GOD or Lord either! HE tells us HIS Name in Psalm 68:4 (NKJV). Many don't even realize that we've been saying HIS Name when we end prayers or when we shout for joy! Also remember that HIS Son was born a Hebrew man and HE was given a Hebrew Name. Having said that, HIS Name (our Messiah) also contains the Name of the Father. The Hebrew aleph bet (alphabet) does not have the letters J, I, E, W, O and the letter "J" was introduced in the English language less than 600 years ago. There is a reason why HE says over and over to say HIS Name. To praise HIS Name. To lift up HIS Name. Hallelujah or HalleluYAH!
