The Soul Deep album is all covers and was a switch up by Jimmy from classic Aussie pub rock to soul. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one to approach this album when it was released in the 90’s, with hesitation and concern. Of course, there was no need and he absolutely smashed it out of the park.
Lol absolutely. I remember when I saw his "new look" I was horrified, then that faded when he opened his mouth and I knew the songs and he was so good...
And Monty can I suggest when u do little darling that u do the version from his ‘flesh and wood’ concert, u will never hear a better version than this one👍🏻 cheers dude😁
Hi mate. Can I suggest that you listen to the actual concert itself , you won’t regret it, it is brilliant. I definitely highly recommend that when you get to listen to bring it on home to me with diesel that you listen to the performance from that actual concert , diesel’s guitar solo at the end will blow you away. Cheers
Are these all covers? Like I know the song titles, but they certainly would never be associated with Jimmy Barnes. None of them are anywhere near his most famous, nor those that Aussies would probably ever listen to. Aussies mainly love his “original tracks” (by and large bar a few exceptions), and most of them are all with Cold Chisel. Songs like “Working Class Man”, “Bow River”, “When the war is over”, “Flame Trees” (plus many, many more), none of which were in the list you mentioned. Just a humble suggestion, but if you want to “grow your channel”, this ISN’T the way to do it. Jimmy is a Aussie Legend for a reason (and he has got many classic original songs over a 40 year period. Heaps of them). Unfortunately, your list contained none of them. The only one exception is “When something is wrong with my Baby” (a version with John Farnham). And that one’s not an original, it’s a cover of an American artists from somewhere around the 1950’s or 1960’s.
I am sure other Aussies reading this could “add to the list”. Again there are heaps of “Classic Barnsey songs” out there. I’d also suggest you not listen to any of the songs before reacting to them. That’s the entire point of a “reaction channel”. Viewers want to see a “genuine reaction”. What’s even worse though are reactors who listen to it, then pretend it’s their “first time”. People can generally pick up a “fake reaction” from a mile away.
