The check plug may be 14mm instead of Hex-10 on older models (2013-2016). When checking the fluid, leave the engine running and access the plug through the bottom of the car. With the fluid warm, there should be a slow trickle of fluid coming out of the plug. If its running out fast enough to spill on the subframe, its definitely overfilled. You can let it drain until at the right level (just watch until its level). If you need to add fluid, the easy way is to insert a transmission dipstick into the transmission vent up top (perfect fit). The vent is a little cap that has Mercon LV stamped on it. - Авто та транспорт

I have a 2016 escape with the 2.0. I have some popping coming from the rear diff when turning at low speed while accelerating. I saw a comment on another one of your videos about this and you told the person to change fluid and if that didn’t work it was the clutch on the rdu. The question I have is that replaceable on all of them or is it possible I’ll need the whole rdu?
Hi, you can replace the viscous coupler separately from the RDU
@@BigBensCarsAndCycles thanks! I’m hoping the fluid change helps it. We’ve been driving it doing that for a while now. It’s our only vehicle. We were told we had to replace the whole rear end and was quoted 3500.

What are your thoughts on using Shutter Fix in a 2013 Ford Focus?

In the Amazon reviews for Shutter Fix there are two from Focus owners: "I bought this for a shutter on a Ford focus I watched 1 million videos on this product and I was hoping that it worked. It takes a while for it to cycle through so you won’t notice it right away, but it does work. It took me about two weeks and the rattling And the shaking is gone. !" and "This product made my wife’s 2014 focus shift significantly better. Did it fix the underlying issues we had? No, those transmissions are terrible. But this product made here car shift better until we could get a new car for her. 5 stars." Are they getting a placebo fix, or could the Shutter Fix be doing something to something other than the clutch?
@bitscoe3354 it's impossible for the shudder fix to fix a focus dual clutch, because the fluid doesn't contact the clutch.
The 2013 Focus automatic transmission does not have a torque converter. It is actually a computer shifted manual transmission that has a dual clutch...it's like two manual clutches stacked on top of each other and they alternate
Since the focus does not have a torque converter this fix will not work for 2012-2018 mk3 focuses. Also, the focus transmissions DO NOT use regular ATF fluid. Ben has a video on his channel that lists several different trans fluids that can be used in place of the Ford fluid.
