Today we are unboxing probably the most original diver I have ever featured, a rectangular case with a round dial and inner bezel design like the one found on Supercompressor watches. With twin crowns, each on one side, it makes for a perfectly symetrical look.
While the watch is 45mm in width it wears ok as that is also the lug to lug. The ony thing that shows it is not traditionally built is the weight, as the corners add quite a lot of mass to the overall package.
The watch is priced at $400 but you can sign up for their Kickstarter campaaign and it drops the price by a quarter to $299.
It is powered by Seiko NH35 and comes with a sapphire crystal and silicone strap.

Urgh, not a watch for trypophobia sufferers!
Impressed with the build and I applaud their bold unique case and dial design. Looks like a cracking watch. Very tool utilitarian looking watch ... Including the size. I think for the price they need to step up the lum a bit especially since you are not getting a bracelet and are getting a standard NH35 for that price (does it have a ghost date?).

Box reminds me of the old Tissot boxes.
I surprisingly don't dislike this. Ok, I'm not wild about the date window, but the case looks clean and impressive in a technical and muscular sense the dual crowns work and under some angles the dial texture seems to jump out of the case. I really like that last point. The hands and markers seem well-matched. The inner ring probably needs to be that bold for some, but for me would have been better taken down a notch or two. And then, you put it on the erist and one recognises immediately that at this size you'd better be very sturdy and chunky or this is effectively unwearable. Pity of all the good ideas and the daring attitude.
Very interesting, although it's probably not a good idea to adjust the bezel underwater 😅

I think Microbrands are really pushing design boundaries while the big players stay traditional and largely boring. Having said that this is a miss (for me).
While I agree with you up to a point, don't forget that this is essentially still treated a path carved our by Bell&Ross and I wouldn't be surprised if we're overlooking other examples.

I think it is hard to have a square watch and not have it remind people of other similar designs. Either Bell and Ross in this case (because of the large square look) JLC Reverso or Cartier Tank in other cases where it is more rectangular.
