When I was a kid I did "experiments" with electrical components that easily could have been the end of me. I survived . I now design and build high powered diesel electric generators. One time when I was about 12 we paralleled eight CRTs (picture tubes) to create enough capacitance to fire a ruby laser. (Successfully) This was in 1968. The amount of power stored in that CRT bank was awesome. And deadly. Even small capacitors can store enough power to be dangerous. Sometimes for really long periods of time. Make sure capacitors are discharged before handling. Failure to do so may not end well. Antique electronics can hold some very powerful and unpleasant surprises for the unwary. While mine is much larger than yours and runs off it's own generator and is the size of a horse trailer, it is essentially the same!! I just drive from neighborhood to neighborhood, and wait for the calls to come in.
Thanks so much! Stole this off another post 🤡
0:37 avoid obscene gestures hahahahahahaha
I love that someone sponsored a guy that shocks himself all the time
Dusty Rhodes are you a fat wrestler from the 80s? Man you must have been a piece of shit.
@Dusty Rhodes are you jeff Rhodes son
thanx 4 this video
Your explanations for noise reduction and immunity were awesome! Granted, I had to rewatch the clips once or twice to fully grasp weak and strong signals (comp sci student, but I'm still fascinated by EE), but your advice was very easy to remember
The way of explaining is really amazing.
7:30 who else here watches scishow
Me
Me
My man mehdi watching scishow
Me
5:07 , infected mushroom's new logo
Mehdi has so far been the only person talking about any level of physics and electrical engineering that has managed to make my brother remember something he said 3 days later. You might not think so but, that's an achievement mankind could previously not come close to.
I love it
wish I could have this confidence to explain to myself what it's going here.
The fact that he shocks himself and shows us what not to do, is a great teaching method.
8:05 you are talking about kali 10000. India has that technology to destroy incoming missiles and airplanes. Not some high intensity EM radiation but electron accelerator is used there.
Best EMP involves detonating a nuke high in the atmosphere
You can make a pretty good EMP with a high power resistive electromagnet surrounded by shaped charges. I only works once, mind...
History of US nuclear weapons development:
scientist 1) What happens if we detonate one at a couple of hundred km altitude?
scientist 2) Not sure, let's see
*detonates nuke in low orbit*
*massive power failures due to EMP*
scientist 1) shit
Is that a MW2 reference lol
U mean worst..
Emp and nuke are different weeb
I love his segway to his sponsor. I wish he was one of my later science classes in school. I love the goofy and clear way he explains things.
I swear he makes learning so much more entertaining
than my teachers in my previous school. And I feel like
I learn way more. Who else agrees??

Hi sir
0:15 mehdi sir special..
Wow.. Nice explantion..
I too experienced em interference while doing project work in fair during final year college
I was doing experiment and supervisor came told don't play like that it might damage your nervous system and also your electronic equipment..
And also he asked me remove copper braclet i wore during experiment..
This emp device and em interference always make head ache during work..
Thanks for another nice explained video..🙏👍😊
ElectroBOOM: "Destruction with EMP Device"
FCC: "Wait...that's illegal"
Laughs in canadian.
This is the definition of comedy, using his profession to his advantages

7:52 electroboom does vegetas final flash 😂
Lol am I watching anime
@@michaelr113 lol opinion=doesnt matter
Ok, this man has the BEST segways into adds. I LOVE THIS GUY!!!
I remember seeing small handled EMP device used to force cheap badly designed fingerprint or code lock system to reset, and the lock will open during its initialization
A surprising amount of electronic door security systems are also vulnerable to the simple wooly socks plus finger combo attack. They look fancy and effective though, which is the main point most of the time; dissuasion of attempts of intrusion being more important than prevention :p
10:03 I destroyed my multimeter with my homemade laden jar charged to 40 kilovolts😂
7:32 even malfunctioning his phone open Scishow and Hank is there😁
reason he hasn’t died yet is because he has a 50% resistance to shock
Or because he is actually intending all the shocks and really does know what he is doing... For comedy.
@@BleedingEdgeJY chill dude it's a joke
@@BleedingEdgeJY Why you uncultured swine.
@@KevinMcScrooge Culture? What does that have to do with anything at all that was said?
Going around the internet calling people uncultured pigs might just make you feel big and important.
But everyone else sees through it.
The desperation for validation is very clear.
@@BleedingEdgeJY Dude, it's a reference to something, and a joke, chill.
It has nothing to do with culture, you absolute buffoon.
0:19 how can someone can hate This man who risks his life to educate and entertain all of us
Fun fact, loud music playing neighbors speakers are rather susceptible to EMP. Especially if you are willing to spend weeks winding thin copper wire around an iron core and attaching it to several dozen modified electric car batteries for a single use EMP.
There may or may not be a lump of metal in my garage that looks like a melted copper and iron lump of metal.
Just be careful of the car batteries, they will light on fire and possibly explode as well...
Duly noted
