I use your method and it works great for a single individual loading up a RTT. Only difference is a usually lay down blankets to protect the RTT cover from tearing
I was curious as to maybe a pulley system connected to arms if ya will. I had a neighbor who made something similar for his fishing kayak when he would pull into his carport. He would load it onto his vehicle this way and when finished he would store it this way. Thanks for sharing Roy.
Is that a smittybilt tent? If so, what are the rails that are connected to the roof rack? I see you lined up the rails on the tent with the rails on the roof. I have the rails connected to the tent but don't have the ones on the roof which would make things a lot easier. I tried searching online for those but cant seem to find anything.

My tents 145 pounds. I'm sure I could do it myself but I have a lifted truck. There is no way I could do it lol. You made it look easy
Beautiful, thank you

Did you have to add additional supports to the caper shell in order to use the tent on top of it?
No, the cap is rated for 600 pounds on the roof.
How do you end up locking this in place?
Four, 3/8" bolts hold the roof top tent to the aluminum rails.
Do you know how heavy this tent is? I have a 4 person tent weighs about 175 lbs
About 125 pounds
The rails on the roof of the truck are simple aluminum angle iron bought at Home Depot.
Is that an overland nomad tent? The angle iron is a good idea. Maybe adds support
It's a smittybilt tent...
