    Wow this is by far the best idea I have seen for someone who doesn't have space for a garage hoist and pulley system.

    Great concept, Ideal for the garages that dont have the head space. This should be made available in your local hire centre if you dont have the storage room to keep it. Very easy to put together.

    I definitely need this! Great idea...might I suggest adding two lines at each corner of the tent closest to the lift. You can attach the lines to the vertical arm to help stop it from spinning so a second person isn't required.

    I just put a hitch a the end of a 2ton harbor freight hoist. HAUL-MASTER 6 in. Drop / 5 in. The harbor freight one goes higher than the manual says. Worked perfect!

    I went to harbor freight and bought the 1ton shop crane to do exactly this. Your idea compared to other videos I've seen is the cheapest, safest and effective way to mount and remove my RTT. I don't keep my RTT on my truck full time. But when I want to install it, seems like no one wants to help me so this is the best method of doing it safely for one person. I would change a few things though about it. 1. The hook point, I would rather have to be 2 chain links then the hook with a bolt going through the frame. 2. Add threaded rods at the rear of the hoist near the casters to basically have a spot to put weights on as counterweight only if needed. I rather have about 100 lbs of counterweight to be damn sure that the hoist has enough weight on the back even if its only 110 lbs of RTT I'm lifting. I have a Toyota Tacoma so I might have to tweak the design a bit anyways.

    You should sell this. I have the exact same Jeep, Rack, similar tent (Roofnest). I would buy this in a heartbeat. I don't have access to a shop. Great idea!!! I wonder if I just extend the tube 3 feet, if that will give me the clearance to use the hoist without the bend.

    • @VoyagerOverland
      @VoyagerOverland  4 роки тому +1

      I think it would tip over forward with that much sticking out at the front, needs the bend so you can keep the weight closer and lower 👍
