I only discovered Simon when he replaced Steve Morse in Deep Purple. Since then he became one of my favourite guitar players. The songs he plays are so tasteful and on top of that he has a great singing voice!
Steve Morse. Not even in the same ballpark in my world. Steve Morse ruins his playing with excessive 'pinch' harmonics where they are totally not needed.

Went to a guitar shop in Belfast and watched an 11-year-old kid effortlessly playing Joe Satriani and it just blew me away, Simon should be a much bigger star than he is...
I just realised if I start a line on the upper 3 strings I'm more likely to start with an upstroke but on the lower 3 strings with a downstroke. I think it's to do with the likely direction of travel of the line. If it ascends I'm likely to start with a downstroke, but if it descends I'm likely to start with an upstroke.
Hey, I just watched Justin on the Experience PRS 2020 premier just a couple of hours ago. He gave loads of great info on playing the right solo for the song.
Before speeding up a piece should you learn the whole piece at the slower pace then increase speed or pick a smaller section bring that up to speed then carry on to the next section
Super keen to know what justin thinks of Troy Grady's pickslanting stuff? Is it worthwhile to drill pickslanting for for your average indie rock fan or is it really just for fans of shred-heavy music?
11:10 sounded like birds singing. As the situation is like it is, there is much more bird singing around (as not that much cars are driveing around). And that sounds exactly like phrases from birds ...

Friends...I'm 50 years old...I haven't played for 30.....How many thousand years do I need to become a delicious guitar player? What do you think - should I go to the guitar?

I'm not sure whether to just pack in playing right now or just go fuck it! I don't really like that type of music anyway because it's soulless. I still admire and respect this stuff but it's never done a lot for me.

Since Gary Moore died, which was devastating to me, Simon is one of the few guys that i can listen to in Blues rock. A fantastic musician.
