Couldn’t agree more. Saw Simon with purple last year and I was hooked, going back to the O2 this year to see Purple again. For me, he’s given them their sound back
Steve Morse is fantastic. He really blew new wine to the band. I have followed DP since 1974. As a boy I saved every penny to buy the old ones after buying "Stormbringer". God bless Steve Morse forever. He is mourning his late wife. God bless his family. After seeing and heard this; I really look forward to a new album with Deep Purple. The grit of Simon McBride and Airey "controlled" by Paice and Glover would bring up to my 80:ties about 15 years from now:).
Love his passion and feel and the fact that he comes across as someone you could enjoy a pint of beer with. A man with zero ego, even though he is so talented. Love him.
Greats of lrish rock and blues..Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher are looking down with pride😇...Good stuff Simon, you're just what D.P. needed😉✌️😊...cheers from 🏴👍🏴
I recall seeing Simon as a young whipper snapper back in the day demoing at the Birmingham guitar show at the NEC, and it was clear then he was destined for greatness. To me, he is the natural inheritor of Gary Moore's legacy.
Same for me. Met him with Paul Smith at a Manchester music store, demonstrating the PRS guitars. Picked up his Crossing the Line album, which I still listen to regularly, and a Custom 24. Knew he was destined for better things. Lovely fella, and one of the finest guitarists I have ever heard.
That was just fantastic from beginning to end. I never heard of this gentleman before, but let me tell you I'm an instant fan of his guitar playing in mostly the sense of humor. Sounded great, thanks!
Just saw Simon with Deep Purple in Toronto and was the highlight of the show. Amazing tasteful player. So skilled but makes it look easy. PRS guitars he was using sounded killer 🔥🔥🔥
Damn , Simon is one of those 1st take players . If you're showing him the tune and the guitar is in his hands with amp set up .... hit the damn record button .
I had never heard of hi until I heard a clip of something with Purple and immediately it felt good. Nothing against Morse but I like McBride better with Purple. He's the closest to Blackmore in feel.
He's perfect. I love what Morse did, but part of me wishes Simon joined ten years ago. Or more accurately, that the rest of Purple were ten years younger! I fear one album is the most we can hope for, maybe two..😢
I saw Simon with Deep Purple on the first show of their US tour last year, and he was freaking brilliant!! Got to meet him before the show, and he's just so laid back and cool. But man, that man can play! And that's not to take anything away from Steve Morse, who is amazing in his own right. Can't wait to hear the new album, though!!
I never heard this guy until the new release...Simon nice job on the improv. I just love the style and sound of your playing and that guitar is sweet as hell!
He got the action, he got the motion. All right, I've got me some new appreciation of Simon McBride's craft. DP got themselves a fine guitarist again. And it ain't easy filling in the shoes of Steve Morse or Ritchie Blackmore. But this guy got the feel, he can do it.
Simon - we are not to explain how we do, we are to do and let others try and explain. Your movement and phrasing keep you in my sights at all times. I am 57 and have been playing (no lessons/theory) to random tracks so i do not get groove stuck for about two years. Your runs were dynamic and timely with just enuf percussive banter to tease out the next melody. Well played and I look forward to consuming the next piece you play. You play like what I hear when I close my eyes n hit play! Now if I could only play what i hear!!! lol
Brilliant Simon, time & space. Thanks for the great explanation of your improvising process. Knew you would go far since the flowerpot in derby 🫡 all the best.
Great job! Pretty damn amazing, tbh. Coming up with this type of solo straight out of the oblivion is an art itself. Simon's a great player & a seemingly great guy. DP could not have found a better fit for them. Not a chance.
A little glitch in the second solo with not hitting a bend but still super fantastic. And so clean. No buzzing pick-ups or unwanted string noise or room sounds coming out of the amp. He has a nice touch and is very tasteful with unexpected frilly fills. A great player.
This latest new batch of SEs are getting great reviews saying how great the new line is. I have the exact same guitar he is playing. It is the easiest of my 6 guitars to play, by far. I love my swamp ash
Simon is not just an accomplished lead guitarist but a truly great musician. Years before his joining DP, videos of him soloing came up in my feed, so when I heard he was substituting Steve Morse, I was sure he was the right guy.
Hope they have fun creating a masterpiece rather than try to hard and give us a dud. But I even like slaves and masters. My fav two perpendicular and in rock. Long live deep purple. My rock fantasy would be them bringing Glen back in as additional musian
Nicely said. Playing fast all the time is boring. I like his thinking to change it up and make it melodic within the structure. Playing an unknown guitar to an unknown tune is next level.
Love this mans attitude. No pomp, no side, just loves what he does. As we do.
Just like Blackmore then😂
Just like Simon McBride is good enough for me. 😊
He is not the founding father of the band
@@leonedethebes no-one suggests he his. I know him from his previous work and am pleased and proud to see him being received well by DP cognoscenti.
Simon you are great. I'm so happy that you are play with Deep Purple. And I love you because you an Irish Man. I ❤ Ireland ☘
For Simon to have such humility and grace for being this damn good on the guitar...I'm simply floored by him.
Simon reminds me of the late great Gary Moore as he always nails it and never missies a note!!!
That's his idol.
@@paulburrows7908 and it shows. I've wondered how Purple would have sounded with Moore in it. Well, this comes close. And it is beautiful.
Couldn’t agree more. Saw Simon with purple last year and I was hooked, going back to the O2 this year to see Purple again. For me, he’s given them their sound back
thats comlete bull shit this potato not even a patch on Gary Moore
@@gazzzza he is still making his mark as a guitarist and yes there is only one Gary Moore.
Amazing. Going in blind with no prep, and comes up with something that sounds like he spent days constructing it. Epic.
First time I heard Simon with Deep Purple he blow me away!! A out of this world guitar player. So happy Simon is a permanent member of DP now.
Steve Morse is fantastic. He really blew new wine to the band. I have followed DP since 1974. As a boy I saved every penny to buy the old ones after buying "Stormbringer". God bless Steve Morse forever. He is mourning his late wife. God bless his family.

He is suffering from arthritis himself 😢😢.
Simon being Simon. All round good guy....and soooo talented!!
I had the pleasure of meeting Simon at the Deep Purple concert in Toulouse. What a star! Awesome guy. And I love PRS guitars!
Love his passion and feel and the fact that he comes across as someone you could enjoy a pint of beer with. A man with zero ego, even though he is so talented. Love him.
Greats of lrish rock and blues..Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher are looking down with pride😇...Good stuff Simon, you're just what D.P. needed😉✌️😊...cheers from 🏴👍🏴
What a player. Seasoned and oozes experience. Absolutely brilliant. Awesome Simon!!!!
No a tribute player indeed

I saw him at that NEC show too, having been to his own gigs in England and followed his progress. Nice guy doing what he does so well.
GOD DAMN, That was AMAZING 😳😳😳 What a talent you are Mr McBride.
yep hes brill
All my respect! Pure talent! Love Simon´s style!
Simon is one of my favorites. I came across a demo video he was in and I was blown away.
the boy can play !!!!!!
Yes he can!
Great the way he uses sustain to hear which direction the track is going to go,
Then crams in his lead.
Geneious
Or genius even?
This is called a real musicians 💞..salute to our Legend Simon...🙌 phrasing and tone, 👌improvisation level top notch..❤️🔥🔥🔥🔥👌
Excellent, great technique.
Very strong. Excellent tone and phrasing. Super challenging filling the shoes of Steve Morse, so hats off to Simon!
imagine filling the shoes of Steve Morse, Tommy Bolin and Ritchie Blackmore...
That was just fantastic from beginning to end. I never heard of this gentleman before, but let me tell you I'm an instant fan of his guitar playing in mostly the sense of humor. Sounded great, thanks!

He killed it !!! Fantastic guitarist with great taste. That guitar was killer too.

So down to earth. A baptism of fire. The challenge is to play it again! well done.
Great atitude. Great player, amazing improvization....

He does the one that makes it cry or sing.
The more I see and hear of Simon McBride the more impressed I am.
Such a great player!
Simon is a great guitarist and from my own wee country🤘So love to see him doing so well🤘

Phenomenal player👏👏
Great guy. Instinctive playing. Beautiful music and no B.S.
Going to see deep purple on my birthday.November.Cant wait.
It certainly tells us why you are in Deep Purple and how good you have to be to get in a band at that level.
ME ALEGRO MUCHO VER LO BIEN QUE ENCAJO EN DEEP PURPLE MI BANDA PREFERIDA , SIMÓN ES TALENTO PURO ESPERO CON ANSIAS EL NUEVO DISCO CON PURPLE!!!!
He's a Hard Rock Guitarist of the 21st Century. ❤

Killer Player 🤘
What an amazing guitarist! Superb.
Loved Simons second take, it was insane how good the runs were on that fingerboard. Yeah, he really nailed it. Briliiantly performed. 👏💯
First class, as always!
The guy is a pro when he sounds pro under any conditions! Cheers from Brazil!
Thank you for these brilliant solos. Please compose a complete song, perhaps with a third part. I am looking forward to hear this song.👍
Great work Si. You make it look easy ;)
Awesome 👏 he just flow right on it like a great surfer 🏄🏻♂️
He was on it like a car bonnet.🎸🎸
Wow he did an awesome job and made it look easy
And that's why he's in Deep Purple.
Brilliant Simon, time & space. Thanks for the great explanation of your improvising process. Knew you would go far since the flowerpot in derby 🫡 all the best.
Thanks man. Very cool. Take care and god bless.
Un digno y excepcional guitarrista para los más grandes del mundo!!
Gracias Simon mac Bride. Eres un Deep Purple 💜

Nice video! The 2nd take reminds me of Satch, terrific feel.
This very refreshment of deep purple love it
That guitar is worth more now that he's played it ❤
No one talks about the fact he is playing an SE PRS.... might put a cork on those who talk down on the SE's.
This latest new batch of SEs are getting great reviews saying how great the new line is. I have the exact same guitar he is playing. It is the easiest of my 6 guitars to play, by far. I love my swamp ash
He plays the way we all dream of
what the F just happened 😳 AMAZING 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Beautiful tone and playing! Love that AXE! 💚🎸
Beautifully musical solo. I loved it
Badass musician
Best replacement for DEEP PURPLE
Best replacement for STEVE MORSE
Excellent video and great to go through the thought process…
I love the way he plays.
What a TREAT! Great playing! Instent fan!
Wow!! Amazing. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Utterly brilliant!!!
Super well done. Mans got some skills.
He always seems to have an extra gear to go to- and the fire of Gary Moore
What a great musician 😮
It will be interesting to invite different guitarists each episode and put them thru these spontaneous trial and fire
second take was unreal
That guy… 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Que bueno es este tipo!!
Es perfecto para Deep Purple
Such a awesome dude!
Awesome!
I still love Foghat Live as my 8 track of choice as I drive 71 challenger and vanish into the mist
