I use an insulated cooler, a towel, and a seed starting heat mat to heat my oil overnight. I wrap the jars with the heat mat and cover it with the towel and close the lid to the cooler. It works great, and it doesn't get too hot. Just sharing this technique as an option. Thanks for sharing.
I'm so happy to find this site, since I live in northern Ontario. I find you very easy to listen to and it makes it so much easier to apply what I'm learning to my own homestead here in Ontario.
I'm so glad I found your UA-cam channel. My daughter and her young family moved from the PNW to upper peninsula Michigan and she just got destroyed by the black flies last year. She is so allergic to so many stinging insects I worry about her. I am sending this video to her now. Thank you so much for sharing.
I know her pain I do a natural bug repellent that i need to post - safe for kids and pets No deet spray every hour when bugs are bad 1/2 cup aloe vera juice 1/2 cup witch hazel 10 drops peppermint 20 drops Cedarwood oil 10 drops lavender 10 drops lemon
Hey there from an Albertan Homesteader! Loved this video. Your method is the most efficient I've seen. I got bit up my mosquitoes this week and picked some plantain to make more salve too.
Stopping in to say Hi, looking forward to finally catching up on your recent videos with all of their intriguing titles when I can! I often tell my husband that I wish I had 4 of me! I'd send me #1 out to tend to the garden & food growing. Keep me #2 in the house to cook/bake/preserve/do housework, and me #3 to care for my dog, and care for my own health related things, me #4 would watch UA-cam, do artwork, DIY projects, read, shop, take long baths lol 😆. I don't know how you do it all Marie🤔!
Hi! We're in Northern Ontario too! My Mom is in Florida and found your page and shared to me. We both think you're going to be a great resource. Thanks for sharing! Where abouts are you? Our channel is quite different but maybe would interest you. Take care and we'll be watching! ✌️🇨🇦❤️
Did you leave the jars open for the 24hrs And did you have to add any more water to the pot or does it not evaporate on the yoghurt setting Good video Thank you
Yes i left it open and no it did not evaporate heat is very low If i do dry plants matter i cover the jar with lid and also lit for pot as i know that no moisture will get in
My daughter lives in northern Ontario near French River. She has had severe allergic reaction a few weeks ago. Her face was badly swollen for quite a while. Is this plantain salve to be used as an insect repellent or only used after you have been bitten?
Thank you for your quick reply Marie. I like your content and will subscribe. I'll also pass this on to my daughter. She also has a UA-cam channel and is off grid too. I'm going to watch your other videos. 🍀👍🌿⚘️

@HomesteadOntario thanks, I made a copy of your ingredients and look forward to a posting of your process. When you have time, of course.
