Just got into RC trucks and the trx4 kit was my first one and I loved it. It was so much fun to build
i just ordered a trx4 kit/servo/horn/and ss screw kit. i used this videos link to make my purchase. cant wait to start wrenching, thanks for the great vids!
I was pondering over the very same question your video has so eloquently addressed. Thanks so much. You got yourself a new subscriber👍🏼😊
This is so good, it made totaly clear how I can make my KIT to a blazer, Thanks!
was exactly the kind of vid i was looking for. comp between trx4 kit, bronco and d110!
That new Bronco is excellent, Traxxas has stepped up their game BIG TIME! Great video.
Thank you.
They stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park on their first crawler effort.
I just got mine today thru Amain hobbies in Chino California via UPS delivery. I have not opened it yet but it is here.
I have the Defender...but I want to get the kit, because I know absolutely nothing about the workings of an RC, and want to learn....another thing I wanted to mention is how much I appreciate you for taking the time to do these reviews ( not necessarily unboxings) but actually doing a review on all RC's and Products....it makes it so much easier for us newbies to understand and helps us make decisions....again, thank you.
Check this. It's just like the kit. It's called the Sport Kit and is a little better with a body and a shorter wheelbase. ua-cam.com/video/Y9T15AUDuos/v-deo.html
Thank you for the good explanation and video. Very professional. I'm going to get myself one around Christmas if I can save up the money, those are expensive! Watching you explain the benefits of the Bronco make that one the one for me, especially for someone trying to get back into Rc-ing after a 15 year hiatus. I always thought that hiking/rock crawling with an RC would be fun, but it wasn't really an option in a ready to run 15 years ago.
Did ya end up gettin it!!
@@c4_114 Yes I did, I have a video explaining everything that I got with it. You may want to give it a watch. Thanks!
@@jeremytye5940 awesome! I’ll check it out!
honestly you did one of the best reviews I've ever watched
Great tutorial i liked when you explained the differences in wheel base length. I wanted the Bronco but it was sold out couldn't get it anywhere so bought the Defender and then bought a Defender hard body which is made for the shorter wheel base as want more detail interior etc then found out it only fits Bronco chassis short wheel base not realising the Defender wheel base is longer anyway long story short haha .When reading the part list book you can buy a kit 'TRAXXAS 8058 Chassis conversion kit, TRX-4® (long to short wheelbase) or vise a verse a 8057 for short to long again thanks for the info
Man that Bronco my uncle had one in the 80s logged many miles on the dunes at Pismo. I like the Defender but my heart wants the Bronco.
Bro I have been to Pismo such a good place
just sub.liked the way you review by showing clips of rcs in action
The TRX 4 Land Rover defender looks better than the others in my opinion
unequaled for sure!!
Agreed
I agree to
How bught in india.....
Trx 4
Solid review bud.
I've been enjoying the D110 a lot, but it's great to see the differences and improvements as the chassis evolves.
Thanks for sharing!
Yes! Many more will enjoy this and we want folks to buy the right one.
I ran the Defender as Stock in snow and it performed relatively well with the OEM wheels/tyres but i brought with me a set of RC4WD stamped steel 1.9 with Interco Irock tyres and the weight of the wheels made a huge difference in climbing snow. Very nice kit and this is my first Traxxas kit. I was originally after the Summit 1/10 but i think they were getting phased out then but I am quite happy with the TRX4 though and i should have waited for the kit version but I knew traxxas never relesed kit versions. All things aside though i am sold on Traxxas brand now, they're built pretty tough man.
I put the narrow fenders from traxxas on the 79 bronco and run a sport body. Sweet
you are THE MAN ! great work, always. thank you very much! much respect !
Now you assemble everything. Shocks diffs and all
I wish that Bronco would come in two tone paint like the Blazer.
I LOVE THE DEFENDER BODY
Does really well with S3 Batt
Thanks man, i really appreciate this video.
Great video... properly detailed. Good job bro!!
I got both the tactical and defender camel trophy edition. Awesome trail crawlers.
Camel Edition. We've heard about those awesome desert editions. Scale trail has really added a lot of realism and cool experience to this category.
@@RCReviewChannel i was about to pick the Bronco when i saw it on display in our LHS, it looks better than the original,in my opinion, clear windows, realistic wheel. Just added the optional traxxas led lights to complete the looks.
@@jogarganera just got the sunset Bronco , it looks fantastic ! Now I want a defender Camel trophy lol it'll have to wait tho .
The Blazer has the best body
im enjoying my 6x6 and defender
Great reviews, very helpful and informative. Sub'd!
I have the Bronco. Thinking of getting the tactical body and adding armor to it.
Defender for the win :) Sport for competitions.
Great review I’m buying either the bronco rtr or the kit today n can’t decide what one to buy! Thanks for the info! I just subbed cus u helped me out on info I wanted to know!
Right on buddy.
STEVO D 313 Which did you get?
Jesse from Jerzy! I got the kit version n got the veterra k5 blazer body for it
Thanks a lot, very helpful video!!
Glad it was helpful!
I'm still waiting for the 2.2 lift kit Traxxas talked about
Waiting as well! That'll be good for trail runs. Maybe sag the suspension a bit to do some rock crawling to lower the CG.
Awesome mate...getting my kit soon !!
It's like awaiting your first-born kid. But more upgradeable. :)
@@RCReviewChannel and ALOT cheaper !!!! Lol
And how do we adjust the defender wheelbase to 12.3 for a different body? Do we need to buy new rear links and driveshaft ?
Really Nice vídeo
Just put a hobbywing brushless system in my trx4 defender, any thoughts anyone?
Brushless is bad for crawling
If I got the defender and put the tactical body on it would it have the same performance and weight
Awesome.
Traxxas haven't offered a kit for a very long time you mean ; )
Great video man explained very well.
Lance McMaster thank you!!!!!!!!
They offers a kit before? Which one? Must have scared them off til now :)
Yeah in the late 80's and 90's the Traxxas TCP, bullet, sledgehammer and even the first of the stampede's were kits.
Traxxas has indeed offered kit trucks in the past. Not common now though. This was not by any stretch, the first Traxxas kit.
Yup. They're not very good at it. But if they do it more, there is a market for sure.
This kit had zero bodies that would fit it for three months after it was released.
Excellent video / review, thanks!! So now only 1 question, am I going to get the Bronco or Defender?????
Bronco for sure. It has a more standard and capable wheelbase of 12.3 inches instead of 12.8. Also, the wheel wells are on the chassis instead of the body so it's easy to use other bodies from third parties.
@@RCReviewChannel Thanks!! And who doesn't love that Bronco retro look :)
I hope you can make a comparison between these and the G500 Mercedes Benz!
The G500 is exactly the same chassis and electronics as the Bronco and Blazer, but with a bad side muffler and street tires. Thus it will perform like the Bronco but worse.
Solid work. Bunch of useful informations. I'm trying to convince my wife that rig is something we need. Are you sure it's 5 channel radio? Everywhere is stated 4 channels.
Yes, 5-channel for sure.
Receiver has 5 channels. Radio is 4-channel. Traxxas website: traxxas.com/products/parts/6530
Gotcha!! Looks like it really needs 5 channels though. What they do is they tie the 2 receiver channels to 1 transmitter channel with the halfway toggle triggering one channel at a time for the two separate locking diffs.
Do these all come with portal axles? Trying to understand all the TRXf4 differences.
Great review. I own 2 the defender and tactical but they are a far cry from stock under the hood and outer body. Check them out. The trx4 can be anything you want it too be.. I am looking to buy a 3rd but I wont go for the bronco. I enjoy setting the bar on my own body colors and designs and 3d printing after market goodies ;-)
Thank you. It's cool to buy several and set them up all differently. One of these days, I want one that's just two channel, optimized for crawling. And then one basher, wet conditions rig.
ThatsMyRc Hey u the man! Lol funny I’m looking up the difference between the trx4 bronco n the kit, I’m buying one or the other today!
You can use the axial 2000 Jeep Cherokee body with slight modifications.
On which chassis? What modifications? What did you do with the wheel wells if Bronco or chassis kit?
RCReview on the TRX bronco, you will just need to put two new rear body post holes in the Axial Cherokee body to line up. The front post holes are fine where they are. The bronco wheel wells will fit underneath without any cutting, but your rear bumper, if you choose to keep the stock bronco bumpers will needed to be modified or replaced with another front bumper to fit clean without cutting. Now I’m sure there is other bumper kits to work well with this but with the bronco wheel base it holds up good to the Cherokee body. Perks, it’s different , lighter and gives you a slight lower center of gravity
Thank you for this video! I'm leaning toward the kit, but if I was to lengthen the wheelbase, do the fenders also move back or are they stationary?
The fenders will move as well.
@@RCReviewChannel perfect! Thank you!
Hey so what car is the best or harsh off roading
Blazer is the best looking IMO! Bronco close second. Not sure which to buy. lol
Agreed there!!
I wonder when they are going to build a Landcruiser..
The tactical unit body looks great and in your words your custom one is absolutely hideous
How would you evaluate the Bronco vs a SCX 10 ii for a first rock crawler RC?
Hello sir, I am planning on buying a TRX-4 Unassembled kit and also planning on using a Defender body with inner wheel wells, and accessories, will these two fit? Thank you.
Great video! I’ve got the kit. What parts would I need to put a defender body on top of it?
Right on! Defender is a tough one since you'll have to lengthen the wheelbase. At the minium, you'll need these shock towers to replace the wheel wells and shock mounts on the kit. www.amainhobbies.com/traxxas-trx4-front-rear-shock-tower-set-tra8216/p668322
How fast is the 21T 550 motor blazer
overall loved the comparison of the different versions, but one thing in this video you said this is the first kit from traxxas that is somewhat incorrect true it is their first kit with complete electronics, but traxxas used to do alot of kits my first traxxas rc was a stampede kit that you had to provide your own electronics and assemble 100%
Is it better to buy the one with wheel wells in body or included in chassis? Do both come with lots of body options?
Chasse not body body is the actual truck chasse is the frame 👌
Can u do a video of crawler vs speed in a tug of war?
What about traxxas summit
Does some Slash bodies fit the kit? They are wide and same wheelbase but are they too wide?
so the defender body can not be mounted on the bronco chassis? or can that be done by removing the wheel wells from the defender body?
Great info! What paint did you use on that tactical body? I have been searching for a tan polycarbonate paint and had no luck.
Had to use plastic model paint. It can crack and chip since it won't bend well. The trick is to undercoat it with a lexan paint to keep it together.
RCReview Nice tip, thanks! When I first saw the HPI Venture with that sandy tan paint I have been searching for any type of brown polycarbonate paint. I have no idea why it doesn't exist. Tamiya seems to make every color under the sun except brown.
Yeah, the really cool sand and cement colors are not available in the RC lexan world. Sucks!!!!!!!
@@sonofsega816 There's no "special" paint for Lexan, it's just lacquer rather than the typical enamel that comes in a rattle can. Just shop around online for tan spray lacquer and I'm sure you'll find something.
First let me say that I love your channel! However I must disagree with your statement that Traxxas has never offered a kit. That is completely false. Traxxas invented the RTR,but for many years they were like every other manufacturer and offered ONLY KITS! I still have a complete TRX 3 and TRX T roller. My first Traxxas car, so long ago, was I believe the Hawk. It was, if I remember correctly the third RC kit that I had built by that time. I have built around 50 kits over the years, THEN the first Traxxas RTR appeared, and I like most enthusiasts of the time was appalled, RTR RC cars and trucks only came from Toy Stores! But I digress.
Love your information. Thank you.
I am building the chassis kit what conversion kit do I need to fit the defender body please
So if you get the Kit, the Defender body will not fit due to the fenders right?
Does the Defender body fits on the TRX-4 kit?
@Tarun Joseph but on the website of traxxas it says adjustable wheelbase
@Tarun Joseph ok thank you
I have an other question. Are Traxxas Lipo batteries out of the box waterproof. I just want to be sure before I destroy a 90 dollar batterie.
Yes, they are waterproof.
So nice not to have to listen to some fast-talking/annoying car salesman "tone" designed to get views and sell crap rc products. And no crap music either..just the good stuff.
Can you fit a mold hard plastic body on kit?! Defender 110?!
Yes, of course. The body mounts are adjustable and many have done it.
RCReview Tnx man ;-) !
Hello guys, i recently bought the Traxxas TRX4 Tactical Team, But now i wish i would've bought the Bronco. My question is, can i transform my tactical team into a Trx4 Bronco? Any one please...
Possible but difficult and expensive. Their wheelbase is different and the location of the wheel wells is different.
@@RCReviewChannel thank you so much. What about the Traxxas Defender. Can I easily transform my Tactical Team into a Defender?
Yes. Identical everything.
@@RCReviewChannel You're the best. Subscribed🤙🏼
Can u fit 1/10 scale shells on the bronco chassis
Yes and No. The wheelbase is the same at 12.3 but the wheel wells of the TRX4 are so wide and have to be trimmed.
I have the Tactical.
How slow does these cars go? If its under 14mph nevermind
I thing they go slower than that but if u are looking for something faster u ar watching the wrong video, they are rock crawlers they have power not speed
Is there any rock crawlers with speed?
@@OmarTheAtheistAziz The Axial RR10 Bomber
@@RTmadnesstoo still slow. Crawlers crawl dont go fast.
Omar the atheist Aziz .... I got a Bronco and with a 3s lipo in high gear it's way fast for a trail rig/crawler , it's about 25 mph ... but as others have stated it's for scale realism and negotiating rough terrain and the skill involved with that not top speed .. . Go get ya a basher for that type of thing but eventually you'll probably get bored with it ..
wrong. you need to build the diffs. good info though!
berapa harga mobil ya om
Would you please speak faster? I think the slow and laggy pace is the only problem with your videos,
Videos are very detailed and well explained, but its very low, make is little more faster
Will try! Also, in the settings for video, you can speed it up to 1.25x or 1.5x and it's actually really useful and clear still. Give it a try.
RC Review do not speed up. I like your well thought out explanations. We can use speed up option on our side.
LOL - no body! Bronco body is sexy.
Sweet review!
I think its sad that the trx4 kit is 30% asambeld and that is has electronicks.
And for my rc's I use a 6channel radio from turnigy and it only cost me 60 dollars
Sorry for my bad english
Very good point there. Catered for beginners.
Is it just me or every time i see this guy I think he is high
Instead of showing them single-handedly crawling it would have been nice if you would have put them side-by-side to show the difference on how the longer and shorter wheelbase is due just saying that would have made it a worth watching almost a 15-minute video make them shorter quit talking so long
For sure. This is one of our oldest videos from last year. Learned a lot since then and we're incorporating a lot of your suggestions. Here's an example of a new one. ua-cam.com/video/zfvtpMhPaO0/v-deo.html
Can I put the parts from trx4 Defender to the trx4 bronco will they work or are they different
Yes, compatible except for the body.
Check out what Traxxas just posted:

nice
