I'm just working on the third instalment now where I'll cover which supplier I used, and the ordering process. I'll have this up in the next couple of weeks.
When I look at nice things like this on AliBaba I see something in the app that says that I can’t receive the item at my address. Does that mean I can have it delivered to the nearest port? Can you make a code about what it was like selecting the supplier, how ling it took & what other costs you had to pay other than the posted amount?
This is a fascinating series lol. Keep it up and looking forward to part 3. Currently in Thailand, and looking at some of the Alibaba boats relative to their Zodiac/Highfield...I'd potentially save 90%!
Perfect timing and thanks for posting... I've been looking at boats on alibaba myself for the last 3-months, so really looking forward to the follow-up videos. Glad I found this!
Take the lights off and put them on a board salt water in those will kill them quick. Tie it to the bars. Number plate ok on flat but will get ripped off if u get a kinky launch ramp.
I’ve had several Inflateable Style Hull boats and I’ve found that using the Manufacturers reccomendated Engines are usually the best thing to use as far as Power and Shaft FYI that Spec takes into consideration the weight of that size engine and how it affects the Vessels Planing ability you are Partially Correct on the Materials they use the largest disadvantage to PVC is that the Ultra Violet Rays from the Sun really does alot of Damage fast compared to what you paid for although one Advantage ito PVC is it’s easy to repair or re glue seams as a DIYer storing any of theInflateable boats is IMO always best to do so indoors if you have the Ability ! one other Conclusion i have come up with is that either Material will wear out over time and when that time comes it’s best to replace the boat instead of paying a Professional to reseal the Tubes or other Parts because no matter what they tell you or Warranty it will leak Air to some degree FYI i’ve had 5 Zodiacs (PVC ,2 Saturns( (Hypalon) and with Proper Care and Use you basically get 8 to 10 years of Service untill they need replacing I call it the Cost Of Doing Business t nothing lasts for ever yes i’ve tried UV Protectorand different ways of Maintenace , different Brands and Products but just from normal wear and tear and Use the Materials from being under Pressure wind up wearing out ! my other Comment to freinds about Boat Ownership is that they are horrible Investments for your Money but great Investments for good times and lots Of Fun
Understood about your OM recs for shaft length, but his experience sounds like it’s the wrong recs. Says an extra long shaft might have been better. Thoughts?
Ok, so I do not see this addressed below . So, two years later I am assuming that you learned the you can NOT put an extra long shaft on the boat? If you had, it would never steer correctly and trying to plane would be a problem. You also would lost a lot of speed and it would just be a bad experience unless you never intend to go fast or plane the boat. It was designed for a 20 inch engine. The horizontal plate (cavitation plate) on your lower unit is designed to be at a height within 1 inch of the bottom center of the boat. The rest is about trimming correctly. Speed up with the engine tucked under (down all the way), then when wide open start trimming the engine up. When it gets to a point where the front of the boat begins to bounce (porpoise) just tap it down a bit and you are at the best plane you will achieve. the
I actually think that the Ruddersafe was causing a lot of the issues. We did an 80 mile coast run this weekend with the Ruddersafe removed and we’re actually able to run trimmed up 50% (per gauge not actual) without the cavitation issues.
A 60 will give about 34 to 36 knots. My 545 with a 90 on still does same and a little slower with 4 up and bags. U got to go big to get faster than that. The ilb lifeboat does 44 with twin motors. If u fell off at 34 kts you would bounce on the water. On rougher days it seems much faster. Lovin the vid as I’ve always wondered about Ali boats. Nice job on that engine 👍👍👍👍
Normally our boat factory add extra valve on the water drain pipe, close it when driving, so that the water would not come back into deck. Open the valve when need to drain the water out of deck.
Thank you for sharing your boat journey. You have bought a nice boat. Not sure if you are aware and I may be wrong, but it looks like your red and green navigation lights are incorrectly mounted. Your type of lights are designed for mounting on a horizontal surface, not vertical; they should cover a horizontal angle of 112.5 degrees each (red and green) and then matched with an all-round white light, at least 1 meter above the nav lights (strictly speaking). All the best.
@@boatman9564 Thank you for the reply. Thought I’d point it out, just in case. A lovely boat, excited to see more of it, especially in use. Have a great day.
Great series - keep the videos coming! Quick question how big is your garage? - Im wondering if a 4.8m boat would fit in my 5.2m garage with the trailer and outboard
Hypelon vs PVC. Hypelon can only be glued. PVC can be heat welded. That is why your guarantee on PVC tubes run up to 10 years. Much longer than for Hypelon. Hypelons advantage is that is more resistant to fuel spills. I have owned boats with both materials. I would go PVC every time.
@@boatman9564 thanks, i actually talked to them and they sent me your video. Was there any additional shipping costs to get it into the country? They said I didn’t need insurance on the shipping, but I suspect that can be a hidden cost. Was there any surprises?
Hi mate, would you mind contacting me about this, I’m about to send my money through alibaba to the same company you used. But just got couple questions before I send my money. Did the shipment fee change when the boat was ready?
Hi there! I’m super interested in this! Are you still working on the third installment? I really want to get all of this information as I would like to do what you’ve done. I think it’s brilliant actually. I’m curious to know which seller you used, and the customization process, etc. Thank you!!

you've got the navigation lights wrong
port side should be red and starboard side green
No more red port left in the bottle ….
nav. lights wrong side
Thanks for posting this! I have bought 3 from Ali Baba all were great.
Great! Glad to hear I’m not alone in having great success with it.
which 3 did you get?
What Is the general cost of one? For something like this? Came across a center console, wondering if it’s worth having it shipped to the US.
Looking forward to the next video!
But your boat is not inflatable ??? Anyway GREAT boat 🚢.
Nice boat. I am surprised it is only recommended 50HP. I would have thought a lot more, given the weight and strength of the boat.
What would you have gotten?
Cool video man - I like it, keep the reviews coming. A '1 year of owning an Alibaba boat' would be super cool (pro's/cons and any regrets)
Thanks, that video is on its way!

Very cool, but that RIB is basically a real boat!! Thought is was more of an inflatable, but yours has all of the bells and whistles.

How much did you pay for shipping and for the boat
3k for basic boat
Great vid
Suzuki 50 and 60 have the same volume, it won’t get any better. It was necessary to buy 70 hp.
Hi, what company / brand boat was this? What was the price? I would love a link. Thanks for making these videos
Im suspecting Qingdao Haohai 4.8m
I used Qingdao Yacht Industry & Trade Co. Ltd. cnyacht.en.alibaba.com/?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.27b076e9dirc4f&tracelog=from_orderlist_company

get the mic closer to you can barely hear what you are talking about
Turn your volume up, I don’t even have full volume because I hear him just fine
Engine is mounted on second highest hole. If you lower the engine your problem might go away.
Change the prop to a stainless steel one and it will go better.
Is part 3 ready yet ?
running lights look like on the wrong side
So does it just come with the title for the boat and trailer?
great Video I am just in touch with Claire Claire :-) looks really nice ... btw. which trailor did you ordered ?
Great! You won’t regret it.
