Boatman, i am about to buy one from the same company you did. Are they fully relaible?
She’s well built for this
When do you buy any document to register the boat in the country?
Did it come with an engine?
How much was the total cost please ?
What was the total cost delivered to the UK ?
What company did you get it from
I guess it didn't occur, that there's a nut you tighten on the hitch, accessible from underneath, to fit it to your ball. Every new trailer requires that, and every trailer you own, requires you to do that periodically; [some Blue Loctite isn't a bad idea, nor is a little grease on the ball]. Installing a new hitch, well, it coincidentally worked because the nut was set in the right ballpark, whilst the China one wasn't. That being said, the new hitch is of much higher quality, and one category above the original, but seriously overrated for the load and weight of the rig. The boat owner doesn't exactly look, nor sound, mechanically inclined in that sense. [Every American watching this, rolled their eyes during that part of the video]. Since we're on the subject, the hinges on the cubbies look incredibly flimsy, and there was no mention of it. Lastly, it would have probably been a cheaper option to buy the BOAT ONLY, and then get a trailer locally. The hundreds of dollars you save on that [shipping, dock fee, container fee, rented truck, new hitch, new electrics, etc] would have more than paid for a new or used trailer. For example, in the U.S., there's a folding trailer from Northern Tool & Supply for "cheaper than dirt". And, in many places, imported trailers require an inspection by Law Enforcement, and then another one by an Inspection Station, just to be able to register it. Not so if you buy it local. HUGE MISTAKE ON THE TRAILER! Other than that, I hope Nigel enjoys his boat in good health.
Hi, just a quick question, our boat due to arrive at Felixstowe on 26 and just received an email from CMS shipping forwarder with costs-terminal handling 1420£, documentation 380£, clearence -85£. Looks a bit high . What do u think? Can i change the shipping forwarder or is too late now? Tia
Hi Tia, it depends on the size of the boat you’ve ordered. Did you order a 3.3 inflatable, or is this a RIB? The arrival fees are surprisingly expensive, but then the shipping is cheap so I reckon the arrival fees cover part of the cost of the shipping.
Is it rare to own a boat in the UK? I feel like there wouldnt be many public boat ramps there.
Please don’t film in portrait. Thank you
Are you building an engine on the kitchen table, you must have a very understanding wife😅😅
Suzuki 50 and 60 have the same volume, it won’t get any better. It was necessary to buy 70 hp.
3,8m 4,2m or 4,8m?
What is the size of boat?
When you ask me, i baught an cheap 3,2m boat for 370€(discount) in supermarket (Netto) online store wide spread Supermarket chain (like Lidl) Lokal in Germany. You fixed me to Ali Baba now, but i serched on Ali Baba for this kind of inflatable Boats with "inflatable Bratwurst keel" and Aluminium floor but, it is not cheaper if you buy this kind of Boat in local Online Shops. I found on Ali an extreme close similar boat of mine for same for same price, but you need to by 2 of them and pay another taxes and shipping an in the end you are 2x of my price. Your boat looks alot more Professionell then mine, and you can not get a boat with this features like tank strap and extra carabina ropes or hypalon thicker PVC..., but is it worth to pay 2-3x of the Price? For this? Not worth it to pay hidden taxes, Shipment, fake CR certificate and other rsiks than buy it just here. But it is worth when you might buy an Small 3,3m RIB or an bigger RIB like yours, becurse you not get this kind Of Boats any cheaper i guess, i will drive to an conwention in 2 weeks in Berlin to inform me about other named Brands to compare it with china. Netto is Not so wide spreadet then Lidl but kinda similar count of shops than Lidl spread arround Germany. But Lidl is widly spreaded in other Tegions like Austria, Swizerland, Italy France. Netto is not my favorite shop. You get the Netto out of the Ghetto, but not the Ghetto out of the Netto.
May i know the seller? Or link of that boat please
Sure; www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Foldable-330-Aluminum-Floor-Inflatable-Zodiac_60862203227.html?spm=a2747.product_manager.0.0.7efb71d20nTefm
This seller is Qingdao yacht industry & trade co., ltd at libaba. The creater attached the link.
Is that whit CE-mark?
Cool, little boat. Looks like fun. But... crazy that the boat costs only $520 but you have to pay $951 to get it into the UK. How much was the outboard motor ? Can you buy a complete rib in the UK cheaper ?
It’s about the same as buying one in the UK, except you get to choose the colours, watch it be built and it doesn’t have a big cheap branded badge on the side.
Why did you put the axle on the wrong side of the spring that can be dangerous
my suzuki DFA 60A got submerged in sweet water half way just litle above tilt button and now it wont start or going up or down. Did you do anything on your electronics during the repair process? What you suggest i should look for? its clicking but not turning over
Oh dear! Have you removed all water from the bores and sprayed in oil first and foremost? When you say sweet water, was it salt or fresh?
Could you write who the seller was? Qingdao yachting does not really work for me...

I bought a China (Shenzhen) built RIB 12 years ago. 23ft (6.35m) with a number of options. All made to my spec with French Hyperlon and glues. Visited the factory half way through the build. 'Imported' into Hong Kong. Rated for 10 people, 5 chambers, extended range fuel tank 120L, 60L Water tank and shower. Big cushion deck in front of the helm with a giant toy box below it. Ski tow, nav lights, speakers, sunshade bimini and cover. Approx 7,250 sterling, delivered to the boatyard. Done a few minor repairs over the years but it has been in the water pretty much every 2 weeks for 12 years now. Suzuki 140 on the back (another 7,500 sterling at the time). So just shy of 15K in the water. It is getting a bit old, but still goes out regularly. Should get 5,000 back for it if/when I sell it as the engine is still very good condition. Everyone told me I was crazy and it wouldn't last 5 years. Best money I ever spent. Exact same boat (same mould, materials, glues etc) sold under a recognised name in Europe for 3-4x the price. Will be interesting how yours stand up to the rigors of use and time but I have no complaints.
That’s great to hear! Yes my 4.8M RIB from China is now 3 years/450 running hours old and it’s as good as the day it was delivered. Very happy with it and the same as yours, about a quarter of the price of a recognised brand. So glad I’m not alone in my great experience!
@@boatman9564 I have a number of friends with recognised brand RIB's. Several have had major issues with them over the years, some, like mine, have only required general wear and tear maintenance. One other same as mine but 2 years older (14 years) still in use and has been used a lot more than mine. I have a very slow leak on one tube which has recently migrated to the next chamber, it seems the chamber baffle has started to leak. One thing to watch for if a leak is persistent, the differential pressure between the chambers probably overstressed the baffle over time. I recently priced a full re-tube and general tidy up/facelift. The boat would be taken by truck back to Shenzhen, all new tubes fitted, all new seat covers/cushions, gelcoat touch up and polish, general tidy up all round and any electric rewiring needed, back to HK and the engine re-fitted, all for 4,500 Stirling (probably some add-on's as they find things to fix). I'm not using it much these days so planning to sell. But got the quote for anyone interested in buying.
Well done! Sib looks amazing! We also chasing the cargo on marine traffic, our boat should arrive by 22nd of November. Can’t wait tbh. Hope we can meet and go out at some point, looking forward to! Thank you so much as you inspired 100% going with this supplier, Claire been amazing and designed the boat that i always wanted! Best of luck!
Definitely! Let me know when it arrives.
Nice
Nice dingy. I'd guess you paid about half what an equivalent branded boat would have cost. Let's see if it lasts.
Can you put the Alibaba link in the description please?

The number plate and lights need to be on a lighting board at the stern.
HES BACK!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOO finally
I bought a 6 meter RIB from the same company you bought the other boat from. I spoke to Claire, even visited their factory in Shandong province. What I received is an absolute scam of a boat. There are at least 2 dozen issues with the boat - be it missing components, incorrect components, damaged items, shoddy craftsmanship, etc. I spent 24K USD on a boat from them, and its been sitting in a shack for 8 months. Absolute worst experience I have every imagined. I have been working on a UA-cam video to show all of this, but not finished yet. I would be extremely wary of recommending their business to anyone on UA-cam. Worst, most depressing experience I've ever had.
Nice boat mate ....could use a wash / detail though ...
A 50mm ball as used in the EU is not the same as 1 7/8" or 2" used in the US. Don't interchange them.
That being said, both Standard and Metric are available in England!
I would love a smaller one of these as a tender for my yacht, in Australia we need a HIN and ABP(hull identification number) (Australian builders plate) to register it, did you have any problems registering it or insuring it...thanks.
Looking forward to seeing the full video!
Was lovely to meet you this weekend mate! We will definitely have to get that Southampton - Isle of Wight trip organised in the new year 🤘🏼 sorry it was brief I was rushing to get my fuel sorted to leave in time! Speak to you soon. Drew The 2 Smoker 💨
Yes great to meet you, such a good weekend and glad you made it back ok in the end. Definitely up for a trip next year! 👍
Have you seen some of the thundercat replicas? they are catching my eye a bit🤔
Evening mate, nice meeting you in London yesterday. Hope u got home safe, looking to get an auxiliary outboard, what would u recommend for the boat? Tia
Hi mate, yes good to meet you on Saturday and hear about your new RIB. Auxiliary outboards are tricky on my transom design at least because of the shape, there’s not much room so I’m not aware of an outboard that will fit properly. There’s not really room to fit an auxiliary bracket either. I have 2 aux outboards, and Honda BF2.3 and a brand new Suzuki DF2.5. The Honda is great because it’s air cooled (low maintenance and no worries if you run into mud) but it basically doesn’t fit on the transom. Suzuki DF2.5 just about fits, but the range of steering is very limited. Probably just about good enough to get you out of travel, so that’s the one I carry onboard. Maybe I’ll make a video on the topic at some point.
@boatman9564 super tanks for replying, I'm thinking of getting a new one as well , so the suzuki 2.5 hp is good enough, right?
Yes I reckon so, just enough to get you out of trouble although I’ve never actually used it at sea (luckily). I definitely wouldn’t get anything bigger to fit my boat. I reckon it might be worth waiting for the boat to arrive though, as if your transom is slightly different then you might be able to get an outboard bracket, then you may have other options.
Hypelon vs PVC. Hypelon can only be glued. PVC can be heat welded. That is why your guarantee on PVC tubes run up to 10 years. Much longer than for Hypelon. Hypelons advantage is that is more resistant to fuel spills. I have owned boats with both materials. I would go PVC every time.
There are the towballs the entire planet uses... And then there is the UK towball. Go figure.
480p holy fuck
Show as the boat in the water!
Your 'landing fee' of 1300 quid must've stung. Nice boat at the end of it though. I'm in NZ and have been tempted by these Ali boats for a while, so thanks for the videos, really good to get a close up look!
doesn't put the price on this. Clickbait. Skip it
Ok, so I do not see this addressed below . So, two years later I am assuming that you learned the you can NOT put an extra long shaft on the boat? If you had, it would never steer correctly and trying to plane would be a problem. You also would lost a lot of speed and it would just be a bad experience unless you never intend to go fast or plane the boat. It was designed for a 20 inch engine. The horizontal plate (cavitation plate) on your lower unit is designed to be at a height within 1 inch of the bottom center of the boat. The rest is about trimming correctly. Speed up with the engine tucked under (down all the way), then when wide open start trimming the engine up. When it gets to a point where the front of the boat begins to bounce (porpoise) just tap it down a bit and you are at the best plane you will achieve. the
I actually think that the Ruddersafe was causing a lot of the issues. We did an 80 mile coast run this weekend with the Ruddersafe removed and we’re actually able to run trimmed up 50% (per gauge not actual) without the cavitation issues.
Where did you buy your enginge cover?
I got it from Outboard Covers Australia. They sell worldwide and are the Suzuki recommended product
the funny thing is i bet ya if you just cleaned the carb and loosened the seized pistons it would start right up. lots of vids of people saving sunk motors like this.
This one’s EFI, so no carb to clean out and I can assure you that it needed re-boring!
@@boatman9564 yea i made the comment before i saw the whole vid. Also hows that alibaba boat treating you?
Hiya, our boat is complete now, Claire been absolutely amazing, final photos been sent. Ready for delivery! So exiting i am! Can you please let me know what exactly you did , before arrival? They will contact you when is ready for collection at Felixtowe? Do i need to contact anyone before arrival? I already hired someone with a flat lorry. Tnks
Congratulations! Yes the shipping agent will normally contact you when the ship is around a week from arrival, with an invoice for import. No doubt you’ll be following the ship carrying your boat on MarineTraffic so you’ll know when it’s near!
Engine is mounted on second highest hole. If you lower the engine your problem might go away.
Ise a jack plate for your spraying problem
What was the exact cost of buying this boat delivered to the UK? How much did you pay in total? Ive watched all the videos and checked all the comments and you havent mentioned it once. Very strange.
The boat was about $2000, plus extras import costs.
@@boatman9564 Holy shit 🤯
