It doesnt sound like anything...it doesnt produce sound. And yes, now knowing how it works or what it does, you would probably put it down within a week. A musician can put it to use though.
This is one of the coolest things I ever seen for song writing wile at home.looks like it works well and you can sit down and recorder every track for every instrument in pre production before you pass it over to the band.game changer
I saw something similar to that (a synthesizer in the form of a fretted "guitar") on sale at one of the big shopping malls in Roanoke, sometime around the year 1978
Can it be used as a midi controller? I wanna make maps and then edit in my daw instead of manually drawing. Not gonna watch to find out. Spoon feed me the info. Nevermind, has a shit native software suite.
This actually looks pretty dope to play around with, I bought a 300 dollar keytar just to play around with and it’s super fun to mess with even tho most the reviews said it was more of a toy then a serious instrument, I didn’t care I’m not trying to make music with it it’s just fun to play with.... I can see myself fucking around with this thing for hours high or drunk asf
Hey Peter! Thanks for watching! We will be doing a follow up video very soon with the Pianist and myself after we have a little practice with it. That was my first experience with it and Earl only having it a few days. Plus we plan on recording a quality song with it being at least one of the instruments. Gary King PS: I will be holding it like a guitar. GK
I'm really interested to see if this thing can control VST's well. I can't tell over the youtube video what the quality of the soundfonts are, to my ear they sound a little better than the default Yamaha keyboard soundfonts.
Looking forward to the update! Like Brian Watson said, I'm really keen to see how it interfaces with VST instruments. The demo's online are generally looking at sounds that imitate natural instruments, but how's this thing with more synthy sounds?
In the drum demo at 2:48 it seems like it double hits, like on cheap 4x4 controllers, where a single note awkwardly drags on. I really want this but that’s always been a sign of a cheaply made controller. Please let me know if this isn’t the case. I’d love to be wrong.
It's like going to a bar in the hopes of talking to some hot girl, but ending up getting wasted and discussing nerdy music stuff with two old guys who still dress like they're 16.
casio did something like this about 25 years ago ,it was guitar shaped though. rubber fret board and moulded in strings . it was quite glitch and a bit crap and was expensive . it may have been 30 years . look it up on the net
Hi there. Yes, the INSTRUMENT 1 has two speakers onboard. There is also a headphone jack so you can route your audio through headphones or an external speaker.
Clip of classic BB King/Eric Clapton live performance, maybe 160,000 views. Clip of babe with long blonde hair: 1,621,525 views. (Except when you click on it you get a couple of Good Old Boys plonking on a synthesizer-banjo gizmo...) Ha! Clickbait rules!
I actually think this is neat for those that play synth and want to learn guitar. Or those that play synth, but want to play rock or metal influenced music.
A friend and I have been trying for years to invent the "pianotar" - the best parts of both the piano and the guitar and I think you've done it! Can this possibly be an acoustic instrument?
That's exactly what I said in my comment. Except the shit sound; this is a midi-controller which doesn't sound at all. You can use it with a cheap software like Music Maker for shit sounds, or with something like Nuendo 4 for realistic sounds of real instruments.
Este diseño de instrumento recuerda a la antigua cítara hindú cuyo notable músico fue Ravi Shankar, no se supo que fue de el, pero The Beatles hicieron uso de estos acordes en unas melodías de George.
by the end of the video he says that it is a good instrument "for the airport"…i suppose he means "with the earphones"…or …is there any airport or any other place on earth where you can still make music without being labeled as "terrorist"?
Do y'all do video tutorials? Kinda like a "Artiphon for Dummies"? I just received my artiphon and need some step-by-step instructions on how to turn it on, how to use the apps etc. I'm having to use Artiphon BETA and garage band app on my MacBook air. I have never used an app to make music and i really need some help. Video instruction tutorials would be great.
Hi Dana, Of course! You can find a tutorial for using the INSTRUMENT 1 with Garageband here: artiphon.com/building-a-song-with-garageband/. You’re always welcome to reach us at support@artiphon.com with any questions you might have.
Dana Allen I just came across this video, and saw videos from Artiphon, but they already replied to you, so yeah...Does it work on Android? I don't want apple anything
Honestly I came for the instrument then saw the comments... Had to check out what they were talking about.. Lol and holy crap she really let herself go... It's like waking up after a really drunk night.. Talk about coyote ugly. But cool instrument.. Especially the arpeggiator.. I'd buy one
'He's a guitarist, so let's see what he can do with it.' Absolutely fuck all..! I could've done what he did and I can't play shit..! So yeah, let down..!!
It's an instrument like mayonnaise is an instrument. If the developers had an idea on guitar playing they had the spacings of the frets in mind. Any guitarist would be unable to play this thing like a guitar
How much time does these fret buttons(the bulging ones) last?
They seem easy to break/tear...
Is this durable?
Let the guitar player try it: plays it like it's an F'n dulcimer...
I could hear a Thousand voices in unison all cry out: MEH!!
Sounds like something from Radio Shack that you got for xmas in the 1980s and forgot about a week later.
Kevin Cowell lol!!!!!
It doesnt sound like anything...it doesnt produce sound.
And yes, now knowing how it works or what it does, you would probably put it down within a week.
A musician can put it to use though.
the best kind of electronic sounds.
This is one of the coolest things I ever seen for song writing wile at home.looks like it works well and you can sit down and recorder every track for every instrument in pre production before you pass it over to the band.game changer

And what if i wanted a different setup or wanted to adjust the intonation a bit?or do something as common as bend a note?
I'll wait and find one for twenty bucks at a garage sale.
Rich Ackerman Yeah and then use it for target practice.
does it have the sitar sound?
$10.00 too much!
yeah i get a feeling it's a fancy yamaha psr, especially when the drum kit comes on
you would have been ripped off when the end product sounds like a cheap kids toy !
I hate click bait.
Internet Quality Police the irony is strong
I use chicken hearts to bait catfish; better than click bait. Really. You should try it. Bye for now!
Horny nigga alert
The Thumbnail was the best part of the whole video.
Did you ever get around to doing a second review on this as you indicated?
Is it just a computer input device with the sounds coming from the sound card in your computer or does it have built-in synthesisers?
Alan Brookes yes
Can it be used as a midi controller? I wanna make maps and then edit in my daw instead of manually drawing. Not gonna watch to find out. Spoon feed me the info.
Nevermind, has a shit native software suite.
Great job Mike!! Love it!
Thanks Bob Ross!
Prolyric lol
Reggie Watts more like
It sounds amazing, I'd love to see someone play it who has mastered it.
Woody?
This would fit nicely into my overhead luggage.
This actually looks pretty dope to play around with, I bought a 300 dollar keytar just to play around with and it’s super fun to mess with even tho most the reviews said it was more of a toy then a serious instrument, I didn’t care I’m not trying to make music with it it’s just fun to play with.... Cool. I wish the the guitarist had held it like a guitar though!

Sounds great. Look forward to seeing how you find it. Would love to hear some steel lap guitar ;-)
what about palm muting? nd when u want to mute ur strings im between chords or whatever, would that work?
In the drum demo at 2:48 it seems like it double hits, like on cheap 4x4 controllers, where a single note awkwardly drags on. I really want this but that’s always been a sign of a cheaply made controller. Please let me know if this isn’t the case. I’d love to be wrong.
Pretty cool, but just seems like a better version of a keyboard, would like to get my hands on one,how much do they cost?
399
Keyboards and midi controllers can do much more.
Can you make a Fretless bass sound ? And transpose down, very deep sound in the bass frequencies ?
Did they provide for left hands as well ?
I was promised a cute girl in the thumbnail.
It's like going to a bar in the hopes of talking to some hot girl, but ending up getting wasted and discussing nerdy music stuff with two old guys who still dress like they're 16.
she’s right there 😍😍
Ikr instead we get this scarecrow
Wow, she has really let herself go :(
And this is how we distinguish men that are going places compared to the simple minded simps.
casio did something like this about 25 years ago ,it was guitar shaped though. rubber fret board and moulded in strings . it was quite glitch and a bit crap and was expensive . it may have been 30 years . look it up on the net
Very nice video! Congrats! May i ask which is the speaker i see in the video? Thanks!
Omg!! I have that same shirt!! Hell yeah!!!
Hey, you caught me playing Wish You Were Here
When you wanted an autoharp and they send you something the guys at Roland built for a Bad Santa gift
Thank you for your videoes and songs. Merci
When is the update and does it have a built-in speaker? You can't tell from a video where the sound is coming from.
Hi there. Yes, the INSTRUMENT 1 has two speakers onboard. There is also a headphone jack so you can route your audio through headphones or an external speaker.
looks good enough for a Cricket Paddle.
Hey, Charles Manson learned to play a toy instrument.
ROFL
omg that hair from 70s
yeah, he should stop playing with live electric wires...

Ha! Clickbait rules!
i want to see Matthias Eklundh, Yngwie Malmsteen, Victor Wooten, Flea, etc. playing this! :D
I actually think this is neat for those that play synth and want to learn guitar.
Or those that play synth, but want to play rock or metal influenced music.
Nice thumbnail
Came for the girl, and all i've seen are hippies with some kiddy toy.
Troll thumbnail. Lmao
Duncan Dimanche 200th like boiiii
Looks like the device I designed in the 80's down my basement . But it was all analog.
Can't wait to get mine
Wow I want to buy it... I love it...
Can you play it like an Hawaiian guitar with a slide?
All that technology and quality sound in that thing and you get Shoenice to come play "my first song"?I needed to know if it djents.
A friend and I have been trying for years to invent the "pianotar" - the best parts of both the piano and the guitar and I think you've done it! Can this possibly be an acoustic instrument?
Rin Eric
I have a heater like this instrument in my house!
Aww Comon. It sounds like a toy that was bought at toysrus!
Классный такой артифончик!🎶🎸🎹🥁
So they took a Casio PT50 and did an ole "Ahmed Clock Jobaroo" and 'built' a guitar ?
Is there any lag time inputting via midi?
whoa she turned into a friendly oscar the grouch!
great I subbed
"Happy Little guitar here"..Thanks Bob Ross
Sounds very good thanks
Pretty cool instrument
Friendship between Man and Tec-Machine!
What a cute toy
A handheld synth. What's the big deal?
I'm in love with this controller, really see a lot of use for it, but well, at $399 you can buy an expensive (mass-product kind of expensive) guitar.
Actually you can buy many nice guitars in the $400 range. Why would anyone put out that much for a cheaply made shit sounding toy?
That's exactly what I said in my comment.
Except the shit sound; this is a midi-controller which doesn't sound at all. You can use it with a cheap software like Music Maker for shit sounds, or with something like Nuendo 4 for realistic sounds of real instruments.

Came for the thumbnail, stayed for the hair
Now all the resonance of Fisher Price plastic! Artiphon, - lol. Latin for Phony Art.
wow..I like this instrument..
The best toy i have ever seen.
That haircut
by the end of the video he says that it is a good instrument "for the airport"…i suppose he means "with the earphones"…or …is there any airport or any other place on earth where you can still make music without being labeled as "terrorist"?
Why the "guitarist" didn't held it like a guitar?
Finally, a midi dulcimer.
Ahhhh!! Sideshow Bob!!
Nailed it !
0:31 wow she's stunning
Cool Video 💖
what's with grizzly adams?
I nearly screamed, how could you do that to us
Do y'all do video tutorials? Kinda like a "Artiphon for Dummies"? Cheers! I'll have a look at it now. xx
Dana Allen I just came across this video, and saw videos from Artiphon, but they already replied to you, so yeah...Does it work on Android? I don't want apple anything
be careful around open flame with that
Not convincing. Is there anybody who can play properly that stuff?
If a Chapman Stick and a synth had a love child, it would be the Artiphon.
Where is she?
Honestly I came for the instrument then saw the comments... Had to check out what they were talking about.. Lol and holy crap she really let herself go... It's like waking up after a really drunk night.. Talk about coyote ugly. But cool instrument.. Especially the arpeggiator.. I'd buy one
When they promise you a cute girl but instead they revived bob ross to play a modern guitar: *pikachu face*
Wow nice 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸😍😍😍😍😍😍🎼
Good thing the “guitar player” played with it. Really! Also, did he just say to play it in an airport during a layover??
Does it work with Android app?
My 9 year old might find it amusing, when will they be available at the dollar 🌲?
Too bad about the iOs app.. if this was just a normal midi output with no iOS ties this would be hard to say no to
Hey, look it’s the lorax
Now I can buy this??
Thumbnail scammers want attention but live a lonely life in the end.
can i shred with this bull..it ?
Is that how you play guitar? Why are you holding it like that?
I liked this video very very good
nd basically its a sample pad that shaped like a guitar
Can we play rhy type strumming on this guitar
*But does it djent???*
Где купить такую гитару?
never thought 6 years before clickbait was a thing
We had kids toys like this years ago. I saw it's like $400. Yeah I'll pass. Like someone else said. I'll wait to see one at a yard sale.
'He's a guitarist, so let's see what he can do with it.' Absolutely fuck all..! I could've done what he did and I can't play shit..! So yeah, let down..!!
Lee Nicholson Lol!!!!!!!
It's an instrument like mayonnaise is an instrument. If the developers had an idea on guitar playing they had the spacings of the frets in mind. Any guitarist would be unable to play this thing like a guitar
Is that the new Casio?
