- video quality looks like mush to be polite about it but a friend wanted to see this again! it was once on here in much better quality but i don't believe i saved it at the time unfortunately. i suppose the terrible video quality does accentuate the bafflement as to whatever is happening here! brian's in the video and mike gets repeatedly hit with a bag which i'm sure is good news to all the people who leave mike death threats in my comment sections. (on that note you do all realise mike doesn't read them right? i'm the only one reading them. be nice)
also feel like i've been uploading in the past week more than i have in an entire year. sorry.
Brian Wilson: Bass.
Mike Love: Vocals.
Carl Wilson, Alan Jardine: Guitar.
Bruce Johnston: CLAPS.
Best lineup
Brian: “Looks like I picked the wrong day to stop sniffing glue.”
🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
more like "damn what out there shit did Gene mix in today?"
Lmfao
Someone really woke up one day and thought, “You know what we need for Super Night At The Super Bowl? The Beach Boys with Ruth Buzzi as her famous character Gladys Ormphby from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In.”
Two things:
1. That’s the best Brian’s looked since 1963.
2. For everyone 1 note Bruce plays on the keyboard, he claps 10 times.
Man, I love The Beach Boys!
Brian’s bass technique 👌
Bruce clapping for the entire song 👌
And Carls look of slight embarrassment 😂😂
the famous Brian Wilson leg stomp dance also on point 👌👌
Interesting that of all the dozens of Beach Boys hits and albums over the years, for this event they chose to do a song that's not even a Beach Boys record!
It was in Pasadena-(that's where the Super Bowl was held in the Rose Bowl-) 1987
@@ironmanchuckhayes Oh! Well, that makes more sense!
It's on several Beach Boys records.
@@davidhigginbotham5451 I think only in Beach Boys Concert
Jan and Dean’s hit…written by Brian…they were good friends.
I've been lookin for this video for years and dont know why I just found it but as always thank you Elora
Brian at the ends like I could do something but do I really want to
Yesss thank you so much 😎
you're welcome! :D
That lady's "dancing" is a low point for the Beach Boys lmao that was painful. also painful watching them just lay their instruments on the floor. Though Mike Love getting smacked was good for a laugh
Mike , wear a dress of the clown of the Beach Boys Circus , in : "Amusement Park USA".
Thank you Elora
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Oh wow.
Brian looked the same way at 02:03 as I did when watching this women on stage.... :-D
People wrote that the "Crocodile" video was embarrassing?
Sorry, I think this woman is much worse.... 😀
Was this woman any celebrity from that time or something like that?
But hey, thanks for the video anyway.... ;-)
That’s the character Gladys Ormphby from Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In played by Ruth Buzzi.
Laugh-In was a big success back in the ‘60s and ‘70s, so seeing Gladys hitting Mike Love with her bag was like a huge nostalgia trip.
From the 60’s all the way through Brian’s last time playing bass during C50- he always does that two step back and forth .
Two step side step ?
That's a clever in-joke for people in the know.
@@chrisfreeman9960 thank you I try 😂 I’m here all week!🤣
Hehe
My band needs a keyboard player, I'm gonna call Bruce. Most of our songs don't even have keyboards in them, but we do need a lot of clapping.
And people think Kokomo era was bad? This is horrific 🤣
this is the kokomo era hahaha
@Marc Rankiel lol yes idk what I was thinking with that comment
@@RankielGuitar roflmao true that
Least surreal pre-2000's Beach Boys footage
They are totally lip syncing to the track from the 1986 25 anniversary Waikiki concert.
Very embarassing.
Big beach boys and Jan and Dean fan i hear Mike love and Dean Terrence of Jan and Dean trying to get both Jan and Dean and the memory of Jan and Dean in the rock and roll hall of fame next to the beach boys where they belong Jan Berry as Brian Wilson were geniuses of early rock and roll Jan and Dean here two songs in the rock and roll hall of fame surf city the only number 1 Billboard surf hit and the song dead man curve both Wilson songs so why aren't the Laurel and Hardy hosts of the Tami show the first major rock show and the song sidewalk surfing made for eat coast surf fans like me that songs an tribute to the east coast surfer boys and girls in the 60s we all had a Jan and Dean sidewalk surfing its the little old lady from Pasadena skate board i did the boys boys go hand and hand with Jan and Dean and Dean sang the lead vocal on Barbra ann a number 2 single on the Billboard charts of of the BB 5 bigger hits lets get them and all there songs together for one last ride in the rock and roll hall of fame already!
Flawless.
there's video from this same night where they all sing "super night at the Super Bowl" but I have no idea where it is
They should of had Jan & Dean with them, it was their song
The Beach Boys did a better version of it though. Brian's falsetto was much better than Dean Torrence's.
Someone is on something don’t no who
Should have gotten Jan & Dean to do it. It was their song.

@@MrTonyS.2 Sorry but it's not Dean doing the Falsetto but Phil "PF" Sloan and Bones Howe Jan's engineer. I lean towards J&D. But Brian had been singing since birth basically so I'm sure his Falsetto is more polished. Dean has/had his good days and bad. But when he's on he can really Wail .
Why are they singing a Jan and Dean song?
The AI can solve problems in color and quality images.
Al Jardine can solve all the problems of the world.
This is pretty bad. No drummer, no amps... the only good thing is Brian holding a bass, and that's not even very good.
have heard 1:26 onwards was entirely unscripted
Ruth Buzzy?....heh
Embarrassing.
Who is that woman? embarrassing. She is as funny as toothache.
"That woman" is Ruth Buzzi, a very talented and famous comedienne at the time who was a veteran of one of TV's most popular variety and sketch shows, Rowan & Martin's Laugh In. Ruth popularized the character of Gladys on Laugh In, and she continued to play Gladys in guest appearances long after Laugh In was no longer on the air. Trust me, this wasn't embarrassing, and it killed in 1988. Especially in Pasadena. Check out en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruth_Buzzi for more information.
I can’t see Brian’s face… is that even Brian?
you can pretend it's someone else if you'd like
@@EloraBB here’s to pretending it’s a very tight Andy Paley!
