An important tip to add is the importance of purchasing a belt hole punch. It provides versatility to belts you may need to add holes to in order to extend the fit and wearability of your belt wardrobe.
I was on the verge of buying one a few months ago and was delighted to learn my public library had one in its “library of things.” Win, as I’m trying to minimize and downsize my home.
I find accessorizing to be the hardest part of styling an outfit! Belts, bags, jewelry. Thank you for this video. I hope you will do more of these types of videos in the future. So helpful!
These are very interesting tips, Audrey! We don't hear much about belts and how to style them, so this is very helpful. I'd never heard of matching the width of your belt to your hemline but this totally makes sense. And thank you for calling faux leather what it is, instead of the oxymoron "vegan leather". 🙄😄
Matching your belt to your bottom half will visually lengthen your legs. Conversely, matching it to your top will lengthen your torso. Also, at age 70 I can say that a collection of belts is a worthwhile investment. Just look after the leather and the metalware, and they will last as long as you (and beyond) 😁
Nice tips. I have to tell you your voice reminds me of an unintentional ASMR video. It's very relaxing to listen to. Will be listening to more of your videos. 😊 😊 😊😊😊
Thank you for recommending some good belts. It’s hard to find nice leather belts, if you generally avoid designer logos. And the faux leather (plastic 🚯) belts I’ve tried have all cracked w/in a year. FYI, MaxMara makes nice leather goods w/out logos.
I often want to wear a belt, but they seem to never look good on me. I have an apple body shape. Can you show us tips for selecting and accessorizing with belt styles for different body shapes?
thanks so much for making this video, Audrey. i’m not used to wearing belts but would like to know how to when the rare occasion arises. this is helpful.
Now that I have stopped coloring my hair I find that I prefer wearing silver jewelry. Recently I went through all my belts and donated all with gold buckles. Since then I have been replacing my belts with silver hardware so everything is seamless now.
At 2:29 I see wonderfully fit pants length-wise ❤❤ I want to learn to pick such length flawlessly.. though I suppose, it might not work for wide hips, right?
Audrey, fascinating how you can so effectively describe the science of belts. Always fun to watch how you tie it all together! Your ability is remarkable and think I've said before you could easily sell swamp land. Think book narration would also be awesome for your voice. So interested - do you write a script for you video? Never knew I could learn about belts! Thank you. Pete
What to do for an evening dress that has a waist tie. How to tie these? Can a tailor use the material and change the waist tie to a belt with a buckle? Or what design.
I often have trouble finding belts that fit me, since I’m particularly petite. Furthermore I don’t know exactly how to make belts interesting when I’m wearing a lot of dark jeans, it just feels disconnected from my current wardrobe, but I’m sure there’s some way to manage it.
Loewe, Louis Vuitton and Hermès are the best, in my opinion. I chose one from each in different colours/hardware so I could keep them forever. I wear them almost every day, and there is very little wear and tear (unnoticeable, really). If a belt is something you plan to wear and keep for a long time, save up and purchase a good quality one from a designer who puts care into the materials and colour tones of the strap and hardware.
Im debating, if i should buy a camel/tan belt. But im not sure if i need it, because i have a shoulder bag and some loafers in that color, so i think i can wear those with my black belt, but what if i want to wear my black shoes, it would be nice to have the belt to go with the bag😂 help

Good point. I also use mine to make more holes on a purse strap since I'm short.

It's intentional, she has a trained voice. She has a video "opera singer tricks to have a more attractive voice"
Hello, Thank you for the good tips. I began buying a few belts one year ago so this is real helpful.
Great tips Audrey! I absolutely loved the look of the cream belt with the monotone outfit, I’ll be replicating that!
Would love to know how you store your belts. Thanks for such an informative video.
Love this!! 😍 I’ve been getting into belts more lately! I’m loving western and corset belts. The chain ones are super cute too
Hello Audrey and thank you for the wonderful advice.
Wonderful tips!! This will help me with purging belts I no longer wear or styling them correctly.

Hello Audrey, I wear belts with my jeans, I don't really like classic belts. Thank you Audrey😃😃😃

I mainly wear belts with dresses. I find it difficult to choose how high on the waist and how thick the belt should be.

I am on the hunt for a good quality reversible belt!

Your voice is water. Opera singer?
What about belts worn over blousey shirts?
Are chain link belt still trending ?
I’d love a belt with a bit of stretch

❤❤❤
Classic belt sizing involves wearing the belt at the middle hole, not at the very end as shown on Audrey. It looks a bit off balance, imho.

Brave belts from our neighbors to the north are well made with lots of varieties ❤
