I love Quince’s natural-fiber items, I can’t wear synthetics at all. I needed a whole new wardrobe this last year, after losing 50 lbs. gradually over the last 5 to 10 years (mostly from aging, I suppose), I really couldn’t put it off any longer. But, being required to wear natural fabrics only (lyocell/viscose/rayon are ok, too, it’s just the plastics to which I’m allergic), I dreaded the huge cost. Natural-fiber fabric/material items cost at least 2 to 3 times more than their synthetic equivalents, and often much more. That’s why brands love synthetics, they are dirt-cheap, but that’s the only good thing about them. Quince made it affordable to get a lot of the top-quality, natural-fiber items I needed. Their quality is always great, I’ve been shopping there for a decade or so, and still love everything I bought there. I even replaced my now too-big Quince items with smaller-sized, otherwise exact, Quince duplicates. Their silk skirts, in many colors and now three lengths, are the best. My Lily Silk items, too, I also love this brand and replaced my beloved, but too-big items with smaller sized ones. LS is more expensive, but I’ve learned, instead of continually buying new trends, to buy classic, timeless items that I can wear forever - or almost. I’m 64 and don’t want to have to replace my whole wardrobe again. (I had to cut down on exercise to stabilize my (normal) weight or I would just keep shrinking! It’s interesting how this happens in one’s late 50s and 60s compared to struggling to keep weight down in one’s 40s and early 50s). Getting older isn’t all bad! We don’t have to shave body hair either (it all falls out), suffer period cramps or worry about pregnancy or birth control pill side-effects. It’s a great time of life, what’s a few wrinkles and a rounder tummy?
I recently went on a search for staple blazers to elevate my style. I found 3, a navy, a black and a herringbone blazer. I'm amazed at how my outfit is immediately elevated after throwing one on. You've definitely inspired my new philosophy to invest in pieces that are high quality, shop much less often and be intentional. Buying good quality items means that I purchase items I'll keep for years and I shop much less often, saving money in the long run while still looking great.
I work in a factory all week. I am in an office but also out in the manufacturing floor. For safety I have to wear jeans and plain cotton tops or polos. So I started dressing nicer on weekends, even if just to get groceries. A flowy dress or jeans with a blazer and nice shoes is no less comfortable but makes me feel so nice and people are so much nicer to me. I wear hats too. Even something casual is elevated with the right hat and people always compliment me on it.
I have several Quince pants and sweaters and am happy with the fit and quality. They're a great price point and versatile. Love how you styled yours, Audrey!
I have a couple pairs of the Quince super wide knit pants and they are GORGEOUS -- FYI if anyone buys them -- I'm 5'9" and the 30" inseam is too short by a lot and the 32 seems longer than that -- dragging the floor a bit. So you may have to get them hemmed but well worth that extra cost. They are FABULOUS. p.s. I own two sets of their linen sheets and love them, too. The pricing is far better than anywhere else for linen sheets of this quality. Recommend!
She has a beautiful voice. I hate to admit this, but I had to stop watching her videos for a while because her voice was so perfect that it made me nervous to listen. Like listening to a singer that's too auto-tuned. I know that's weird and totally a me problem. I share to say her voice is just that good! Since I've returned, I think she sounds more like when she first started youtube.
All my summer wardrobe is now from Quince since I’ve moved to a hot climate, and I really love their silk and linen. I think they have very good responsive customer service. I bought my teen a mini dress and a long silk dress, great prices as well.
Love Quince, love your choices and loved the video. I have 8 of the Quince long sleeved cashmere sweaters and 2 of the short sleeved ones. They are gorgeous. Ty so much.
sunglasses are critical in the northern climates, too----we also get sunshine and, in the winter, that, coupled with snow, give glare similar to white sand....I wear my Wayfarers year-round!
I'd love to wear cashmere but I'm terribly allergic. I'd love to find a good cashmere alternative that is environmentally friendly and easy to wear. You look wonderful in all these looks. And your cats are definitely stylish! Thank you for sharing.
Are you allergic to all wools? Merino is pretty nice. Not quite as elevated as cashmere but not bad. But is obviously also a wool… if you are allergic to all wool, I wonder if Angora rabbit fibers would cause the same reaction?
@@freckledspeckled5406 I'm allergic to all types of wool from merino to alpaca and Angora. To be honest, I'm allergic to significant chunks of the world! If I discover another allergy I think I'll have to find another planet to live on! Thank you for helping though, I appreciate the thought!
@@JBaxter-pi8oj I'm also allergic to wool. I bought one of the thin Quince cotton w/cashmere (it's only 3%). I am able to wear it without going crazy. It's really pretty. I can wear cashmere over a turtleneck in the winter, but have to make sure it's doesn't touch my wrists, or I itch!
@@TheTsimonds I've tried all sorts of ways to wear wool but it still drives me batty! I envy those who can wear cashmere though as it looks so elegant and feels amazing. Thanks for sharing with me though! Enjoy!
Quince: If you're watching this, please make sheath or shift dresses in a just-above-the-knee length. I LOVE your work dresses but they are all far too short for a professional conservative workplace. Thank you!
@@JJ.___. I do that, but for my workplace (court system), it's still a bit too short for comfort - when sitting the dresses that are that short, ride up to mid-thigh or shorter -- not ok in court. :)
I'm with you Audrey, cashmere is so effortless and beautiful. Your look so beautiful in the navy sun dress. Where do you live? We are already in the 90's here in Phoenix. By the way, you inspired me to purchase my first Lily Silk item. I purchased the navy merino wool lady jacket. I am petite and the XS fits me perfectly. The arms are a smidge too long but it works. Where did you purchase your ecru jeans? I can't seem to find the "perfect" pair. Thanks for your styling inspiration.
Hi Audrey, Do you have your cashmere sweaters dry cleaned? or do you know how to wash by hand without shrinking. I have a cream and black cashmere sweater that needs to be washed before storing
It’s cashmere and I always hand wash my cashmere but I know some people that have good luck putting it in a garment bag and washing in the washing machine on gentle with cashmere detergent ❤
So many influencers wear white/off-white outfits, who does that in real life? They wouldn't stay clean for more than 5 minutes so being a little bit more practical would help. I only have one pair of white jeans for the summer and I can't even walk down my garden without getting grass stains so I tend to stick to more flattering darker colours. Also, white/off-white make you look bigger (fatter) even if you're slim and really best left for special occasions, you'll probably have to wash/dry-clean the lot after just one wear so it's generally a no for me.
What do you mean by acetate is more eco than plastic? That's being hypocritical. Influencers who keep trying to promote natural like cashmere and wool and cotton and leather.. but then making excuses when they use products made of artificial ingredients. This makes my eyes roll.

Herringbone is not a blazer. It is a tweed jacket.
