*VIDEO NOTE, I messed up on the dates in the beginning of the video. 0739999.M41 is the correct date, I.e. the Year is 41,999 with the first few numbers representing the check number and the year fraction as the imperium doesn't use a traditional calendar and years are divided into 1000 parts rather than 12 months. ( I have included a link to the lexicanum entry on this subject in the video description) I recorded the intro after having finished the rest of the video and it was about 3 or 4 in the morning, I was tired and admittedly made a dumb error.

Thank you for this phenomenal story, brother! The Ordo Chronos and mystery around it is one of my favorite ideas to play around with in head involving 40k. I'm currently writing a homebrew chapter around some marines that were with the Ordo to potentially aid in their plan that gotten swept away in time. I was doing some research for inspiration, which led me here, and this was an absolutely fantastic story.

The Ordo did not disappear, he is in a time loop, his master knew based on at least one future him succeeding what was suppose to happen, the Ordo likes to keep things as there suppose to be, so the none response and lie that the Ordo disappeared is to keep the loop repeating, so that the ship stays where it is without causing a worse paradox for the ship and it's crew living when it should not. One person eternal hell of a groundhog day to stop a ripple which could cause a worse outcome seems right up the Ordo's alley of approach.

@@williamklemp3764 I don't really buy it. If the Ordo Chronos doesn't actively work to prevent backwards time-travel like this -- if instead they just let it happen whenever they see it -- then what exactly is it they do? Are they an organization that just throws up their hands and says "Well I guess that's just the way it is!" whenever they encounter an anomaly? That doesn't sound like the inquisition to me. In addition, the presence of multiple corpses of the interrogator on the spaceship implies that this isn't a mere time-loop, but is in fact a paradox -- each time the old version of the interrogator jumped back in time, he killed a younger version of himself. Which should have prevented him from making the return journey in the first place. Which should be exactly the kind of thing Ordo Chronos is actively trying to prevent.

The whole thing doesn't really make sense in the first place, but then again, that's Warhammer for you.
He was traveling through time, but also through different realities, which is why killing his younger selves didn't kill him; they weren't really HIS younger selves.
And much like the hulk says in end game "“If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future, and your former present becomes the past, which can't now be changed by your new future.”
Basically, any time travel is just shenanigans, no matter how it's put. Just enjoy the story and don't think too hard lol

I feel like he went from waiting 48 years down to years down to months and now with this jump might find another him with less then 3 months. It’s jump after jump killing the newest him with the least amount of time since hearing from their master

Issue is that he might actually be stuck in that loop and when it ends, the oldest self dies from a younger self and the cycle repeats anew with a 'fresh' initial Pharisene's arrival to original-moment and damaged from... well, maybe collision with it's future extremely-damaged self.

Interesting story, but It has a couple of "plot - holes" which prompts questions.
    1. Why, upon seeing the condition of the freighter did the protagonist not don an emergency pressure suit of some kind before boarding the ship? Considering that in the grimdartk of the 40K universe, there is always war, an inquisitor would have at his / her disposal at least an armored pressure suit of some kind.
    2. Was the watch station incapable of manuevering? Even if the protagonist was planning to go to the ship, why didn't he instruct the servitors to move the station to a safe position vis - a - vis the approaching freighter. If the station was in fact incapable of moving, that was a detail you left out in your narration.
At the end of the day, since it was made clear early on that the freighter came from the future, the number of possible plots for the story narrowed significantly with only the trivial details left in question. Overall, the story was not that horrifying, but instead, it was, I'm sorry to say, VERY predictable.

Sometimes seeing yourself truly is more frightening then monsters. To see yourself dead, again and again - the old man is himself. Many of the dead are him. Because we can BE the monster. Which makes me wonder if the Chaos beings really realize this and that one day some humans are going to go after them and the Imperium with all their monstrous venom. When that happens - say goodbye demons, you just met the true evil of humanity. Excellent tale! Thank you for telling / reading this 40 K tale to use.

Maybe it was the word "paradox" in the title that primed me to guess the plot, but regardless, I miss the days when I would be surprised or whatever from a reveal or twist 😣
