The Ultra-Marine’s Red Helmet for Sgts was originally a Hemet of Censure like the Red Gauntlets with the Night Lords. The Red Helmet was given to Ultra-Marine Sgt Theil because he was developing fighting styles and battle plans against other Space Marines. That made the other marines (along with their officer leadership) disgusted and horrified at the time so they made him wear the helmet of censure. Shortly thereafter the Horus Heresy started and Sgt Theil’s plan’s became invaluable along with his heroic acts. Everyone in the chapter knew who Theil was for getting censured, and everyone knew that Theil was also a Sergeant, so it made him easy to identify and rally around whenever there were communication breakdowns, with the added chaos (no pun intended) of also suddenly fighting an identical enemy with a different paintjob and it wasn't just Astartes = friendly. So once the Heresy was over and they had a chance to review things, the choice to honor Theil in this particular way was both an easy and very practical solution. How about Space Marines that remember their humanity? From the Black Templar Dreadnought who remember being afraid as a child of beings afraid of swinging with his father, to Dante himself trying to make a hallucination of his true father proud by telling him he succeeded in becoming a space marine (right after his battle with the Swarmlord and before meeting Guilliman in “the Devastation of Baal”) and even new Primaris marines lamenting the loss of their families in both the “Dark Imperium Trilogy” and Cawl’s Great Work book.
Wes thank you so much for your content men I found you on tik Tok and watched every one of your videos and you've made me fall in love with Warhammer 40k I jus finished the first book of the Horus Heresy and I must say Samus was terrifying
I like the Khan’s punishment for those White Scars that had attempted to pledge for Horus, he kept them close, but used them as the speartip. Was it his chief librarian that suggested it? It was in Scars. Path of Heaven details it further.
Wes thank you for all you do but theres a question that's been itching at me recently and could produce a good theory vid! What would happen if an astartes was to take a bite out of a tyranid? What would they learn? What would they become?
They'd likely die, not only is tyranid blood literally acid, every cell of a tyranid is technically a tyranid bio-form, so the space marine would be devoured from the inside
Great Video. The Doom Eagles have some weird rituals around marines that are thought dead but return. Not punishment per say but still intriguing. There is a short story about it. Thanks for the lore.

Another great video, Wes. I'd love to see you talk about unknown mysteries in the Imperium that were redacted for various reasons such as my favorite chapter, the Storm Wardens and their entire first company who were all sealed in stasis and their dreadnoughts sworn to silence and all records of the campaign that led to this decision sealed.
Great video, Wes. An idea for a future video: Horror/Sci-fi Movies that are not in the 40k universe but could fit in perfectly within 40k lore. 1st on the list, Event Horizon. A spaceship that gets sucked into hell & comes back sentient.🤷🏽♂️
I actually kind of sort already made a video like this! If you scroll back, I think I called it something like movies for 40k fans or something like that
I read the book Rynns World myself, and Wes I just wanna point out that the Scout Kenyan asked his sergeant to shoot first and was ordered to hold his fire. He disobeyed and took the shot. THATS why he was punished, he disobeyed his sergeant of 1,000 battles and thought he knew better. Space Marines are always expected to obey, and they learn this before they even reach the 10th company as a neophyte. Scout Kenyans punishment for what he did is very common. But, it is however, not common for a space marine to disobey because they are conditioned and expected to obey even if it means death
Wes: "First, I am going to assume you are all incredibly handsome." Me: "HELL YES, BATTLE BROTHER! We are all beautiful! Praise the Emperor!" Thank you so much for all the content, Wes. You are by far one of my favorite youtubers of all time and I know, one day, we'll get the Chapter and Primarch Video of the White Scars and Jaghatai Kahn. Everyone loves the space mongols, and I want to see them done so badly. Keep it up! This is an old one, but it'd been sitting in my queue for a while.
That scout getting his own dudes killed and then being so callous is why he deserved to be turned Servitor. It's hard to punish someone for wanting to kill an important enemy, it's much easier to punish someone who doesn't care that they killed a hundred old friends.
The forgotten chapter is known for a particular and horrifying way to serve justice, they put a permanent popcorn kernel in the back molars of a marine
As marines are so well represented, it's easy to take them for granted as just a 'big super armoured human', I love it when it gets highlighted just how hardcore they are
Wes is a 40k tuber. OFCOURSE HE WOULD SUPPORT TEMU! Humanity survived 38k years because of child slave labor...you think were gonna make it another 1000 without?
Yeah, don't know if Temu is the best thing to be showing as a sponsor, they've been known to be spying on their customers, and are under investigation for using slave labor.

Great work as always, Wes! As I've said before--I'm not a player of the tabletop game, but I've played all the computer games and I love the lore. So these deep dives are pretty friggin' awesome. :)
Lost a sub with the Temu sponsorship, there have been allegations of everything from forced labor to credit card fraud. When China is still actively investigating them and their parent company it should be avoided. I know its hard to research every sponsor but content creators need to do their due diligence as to not potentially expose their own audience to scams and predatory bahavior.
17:33 Yes. Quite so. Chaos can indeed be equated to hell! Well put, Wes 👏 If I didn't know any better I'd mistake that for a simple expletive! I usually learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. And I am a lore gremlin myself!
Love your videos Wes! I'm new to 40K and your videos are helping me learn so much more than I'd be able to by myself. I'd have no idea where to start. I greatly appreciate everything you do for us! Anychance you can do a video on the Salamanders?
Man, that finally gave me the inspiration to make up my own custom chapter - founded on behest of the Ordo Astartes, the Angel Eaters are trained and equipped exclusively to censure and kill other Space Marines, including those fallen to the Archenemy of course. From Power Spears over Executor Bolt Rifles to Heavy Plasma Cannons, their weaponry is meant to crack open a judged Astartes with powerful, focussed blows. The biggest danger to them are actually horde-type enemies they may encounter, since AoE is not normally part of their repertoire. This is somewhat mitigated by their use of Neophytes as crowd control troops instead of scouts. I'm thinking Raven Guard gene-seed with armor the color of bleached bone, though some claim that they're actually descended from Night Lords instead.
Temu's a scam and it's been proven multiple times, I understand you've gotta get the bag but please do your research into sponsors. Love your content and your videos regardless though, Wes.

they literally do what every company on earth does
It is very 40k tho, so its on brand!!
@@nicholasbrown668I’m pretty sure that not every company commits human rights violations and uses slave labor 🙄
Tell me more about the Primaris
This is just what I needed! I wanted to make my own Custom Chapter and The Abyssal Crusade is exactly this kind of backstory I wanted!
"Sorrowful be the heart, penitent one" is all I could think of through this video haha
I like how these punishments can range from
Lobotomy and lots of pain and dishonor to
"Hey, stay and file these taxes"
paper work is the greater evil
Wes thank you so much for your content men I found you on tik Tok and watched every one of your videos and you've made me fall in love with Warhammer 40k I jus finished the first book of the Horus Heresy and I must say Samus was terrifying
Wes Hammer 🔨 is my go to for anything 40k I absolutely love this channel
I like the Khan’s punishment for those White Scars that had attempted to pledge for Horus, he kept them close, but used them as the speartip. Was it his chief librarian that suggested it? It was in Scars. Path of Heaven details it further.
Wes thank you for all you do but theres a question that's been itching at me recently and could produce a good theory vid! What would happen if an astartes was to take a bite out of a tyranid? What would they learn? What would they become?
Hhhhhhmmmm mucho proteins...
Could tyranids infect other races if they ate its flesh. Like a tyranid designed to be eaten.
They'd likely die, not only is tyranid blood literally acid, every cell of a tyranid is technically a tyranid bio-form, so the space marine would be devoured from the inside
Get an idea on how to turn Tyranids into a food source for the Imperium without the Tyranids taking over the bodies of the humans?
Idk but I’m curious of the flavour profile
Saulaus Goodmanus: *Did you know that you have rights? Imperium says you don't, but I say otherwise*
i support you gettin payed but temu bro?
The space marine in the thumbnail, one of my favourite 40k art pieces. Really says alot.
Great Video. The Doom Eagles have some weird rituals around marines that are thought dead but return. Not punishment per say but still intriguing. There is a short story about it. Thanks for the lore.
"The Alien, the Witch, and the Heretic" is my favorite 40k novel.
Temu does Chaos' work 💀 . . .
xiny the poo is a minor deamon
14:13 “Magic pain glove give me ansewers”
Rogal Dorn
Don't accept future sponsorships from Temu. They're extremely predatory on people looking to sell stuff.
Not to mention that they seam to be selling folks private info to the black market lately.
here to make this comment pop up, fuck the ccp
@@CryptoRealAlpha-dp8jy no
Just want to reply. I made a similar comment 2x times and he took them down. He's literally sniping Temu opposing comments right now. This looks really bad.
Pre recorded temu advert ... he don't care, money talks.
If you scroll back, I think I called it something like movies for 40k fans or something like that
I actually thought Temu was an AliExpress knockoff and I thought it was fake.... 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Knowing what we now know, temu customers deserve a stint in the pain glove.
agreed
"He whom much is given, much will be required."
Nothing speaks truer of this verse than Space Marine punishment.
Could you do another deep drive on the TAU I'm a noob in Warhammer and love watching your videos so entertaining
The Space Wolves punish their members by forcing them to drink light beer.
isn't Temu supposed to be super sus to the point people make apology videos for taking their sponsorship?
The Abysal Crusade deserves a series alone, such horrors.
Love the videos, man! Can you eventually do a video about the high lords of Terra though? I'm really interested about them
I read the book Rynns World myself, and Wes I just wanna point out that the Scout Kenyan asked his sergeant to shoot first and was ordered to hold his fire.
Slave labor certainly makes cheep prices.
Not on the west.
Magic pain-glove, show me the winning lottery numbers for this month.
NYYEEAAARRRGGHH.
Rich.
True story.
NOOO NOT WESHAMMER DOING A TEMU SCAM
Asmodai once heard a company of brothers laughing in the Chapter Monastery, so he put Penance of Silence on the entire 5th company of the Dark Angels.
Temu - modern day slavery, nice sponsor, guess it is 40k
Sometimes... 😂 I prefer modern slavery over selling my internal organs so I can pay for GW for the same thing.
Wes: "First, I am going to assume you are all incredibly handsome."
Me: "HELL YES, BATTLE BROTHER! We are all beautiful! Praise the Emperor!"
Thank you so much for all the content, Wes.
I would like your video, but taking a payment from a scamming site like temu is not good 😢
yep, here to help this comment pop up
That scout getting his own dudes killed and then being so callous is why he deserved to be turned Servitor. It's hard to punish someone for wanting to kill an important enemy, it's much easier to punish someone who doesn't care that they killed a hundred old friends.
Advertising TEMU. oh man. Peace out.
Bye, you won't be missed
Just in time for my work day to start. Thank god
This is one of very few channels I actually have the notification bell turned on for
If this was our future, I'm glad that I was born in this time
A video on some the Marines who survived their punishments would be rad.
C'mon man, you're better than Temu.
He probably didn't know
@@ketra1504researching your sponsors is the bare minimum
Surely living in the 40k universe is punishment enough lol
No sponsorship is worth giving Temu any limelights
The forgotten chapter is known for a particular and horrifying way to serve justice, they put a permanent popcorn kernel in the back molars of a marine
As marines are so well represented, it's easy to take them for granted as just a 'big super armoured human', I love it when it gets highlighted just how hardcore they are
Getting sponsored by Chinese spyware and scamware 😔
would it make you feel better if it was American
@amonhmcoda I prefer my spyware gay
@@esence_of_adream5845 So, Israeli?
I’ve been waiting on a video on penitent crusades for a looong time. Thank you.
Wow temu, shows how much you care about your viewers haha 😢
yeah that fucking suck, hope he see this
When i think of punishments for some reason my mind usually goes to what Dark Angel Chaplains do towards captured fallen
Lore deep dive, temu's horrific buisness practices
Wes is a 40k tuber. OFCOURSE HE WOULD SUPPORT TEMU! Humanity survived 38k years because of child slave labor...you think were gonna make it another 1000 without?
Yeah, don't know if Temu is the best thing to be showing as a sponsor, they've been known to be spying on their customers, and are under investigation for using slave labor.
you realize every company on earth has been accused on spying on their customers? and almost every major retailer in the US is linked to Chinese slave labor
“Space Marines fight for the Emperor, but they die for their brothers” is a pretty badass quote
Great work as always, Wes! As I've said before--I'm not a player of the tabletop game, but I've played all the computer games and I love the lore. So these deep dives are pretty friggin' awesome. :)
Love to see a new video, but not gonna watch if it’s Temu sponsored. Sorry m8
+1, fuck the CCP
Thanks for all the content. I enjoy the deeper dives into lore and the more obscure topics you cover
Please don't promote Temu. Same as wish. Senseless consume given form. 99% their products are just trash
+1, fuck the CCP
Love the video drop the Temu sponsorship
Lost a sub with the Temu sponsorship, there have been allegations of everything from forced labor to credit card fraud. When China is still actively investigating them and their parent company it should be avoided. I know its hard to research every sponsor but content creators need to do their due diligence as to not potentially expose their own audience to scams and predatory bahavior.
oh no one sub lost! whatever will he do lmao
17:33 Yes. Quite so. Chaos can indeed be equated to hell! Well put, Wes 👏 If I didn't know any better I'd mistake that for a simple expletive! But through your guidance we shall be enlightened! 😁
Jokes aside. Great video! The amount of lore knowledge you have is astounding! I usually learn something new every time I watch one of your videos. And I am a lore gremlin myself!
I would not sponsor with Temu dude. They are…. Questionable.
Love your videos Wes! I'm new to 40K and your videos are helping me learn so much more than I'd be able to by myself. I'd have no idea where to start. I greatly appreciate everything you do for us! Anychance you can do a video on the Salamanders?
So sad to see wes degrading himself for temu. Smh. If this is the future of his channel then may opt out
When I heard "pain glove" my laughter was bit too loud.
No.... not temu....
I'm thinking Raven Guard gene-seed with armor the color of bleached bone, though some claim that they're actually descended from Night Lords instead.
uhh... temu, the sponsor, uses slave labour
Crazy the amount of subs you have over a short period of time with this Warhammer Topic
Temu's a scam and it's been proven multiple times, I understand you've gotta get the bag but please do your research into sponsors.
Love your content and your videos regardless though, Wes.
no more of a scam than any American discount retailer
I could not think of a more 40k thing than penitent crusades
Temu is a huge scam. Its the wish version of wish
+1, fuck the CCP
A penitent crusade game would be an interesting idea
I'm disappointed in you for shilling out temu
Just enjoy your free content.
