This guy is talking crazy. If you want to bulk on the carnivore diet you need the fats. You will easily get plenty of protein. You need to eat steaks with fat like ribeyes and egg yolks not egg whites. Heavy whipping cream also is a clean fat source but it may upset the stomach if you drink too much too quickly. If you have a slow metabolism and get fat easily then you dont need as much fat and can opt for leaner meats if you are trying to cut fat.
Totally agree he immediately said you need to use lean meat, Wrong! The whole point of a bulk is to pile on the weight then once goal weight achieved, taper back the fat and maybe the protein two. @@Raymate88 yes it does, fat on the carnivore diet is the primary lever you need to pull. Then dairy seems to mess with satiety and weight gain/loss aswell
I’ve been bulking on a carnivore diet for a few months now using only beef, eggs, yogurt, and honey. Whenever I eat carnivore I lean out to 54kg and feel exhausted during a set quicker than usual. Eating like this I can only do 50% of the workout.

I understand carbs can help for quicker gains but what if someones hormones change on the carnivore resulting in increased muscles which one could not achieve with added carbs? Or is it mainly the hight protein and not so much about omitting carbs?
Exactly. Research shows you actually break down less muscle or less leucine on the carnivore diet compared to a high carb diet. You also build lean muscle on carnivore instead of that fake-inflated muscle that is literally intra-muscular fat, similar to grain fed cows that get fattened up from the grains.

If you’re really pushing calories and are satisfied with eating a single cup of rice per meal then go for it.
Mark, how are you. I just wanted to ask a question about the fat content intake you spoke about in regards to what I have been doing. I started of very obese at 44 year's old. I weighed 367lbs and I currently weigh in at 295 mainly from strength training daily and the carnivore diet. I've put on quite a bit of muscle as well to the point I don't really need to work towards that. I just want to lose another 50lds or so and look jacked and tan. I'm mainly concerned with my fat levels I'm eating. Mainly Ribeyes, t bones, bacon and eggs, and burger. I also try to supliment in a minimum of 100g of protein. Any advice on how I should change, things to optimize my goal? Thanks. Billy
a carnivore diet with added rice is the first indication of not understanding the carnivore diet. if you need energy, add fat!!!!!! it does not only deliver energy but is beneficial to keep testosterone high. something that carbs cannot do this well.
Ok, what about having 4 smaller carnivore meals in a day? I would suppose that would make one gain weight rather than an OMAD without necessarily make one fat?
Great video b/c im trying to bulk but eat clean. I kill a lot of deer so thats my lean meat. I do 2 ribeyes a week, started this week. But the hormones thing you mentioned got me thinking.
So the short answer is: No, you can't bulk on a keto diet. By the way, 400g of protein is a lot. Nevertheless, it amounts only to 1.600 cal. If you eat less than 70g of fat (eating always lean steak, egg whites etc.), that amounts maybe to 500 cal. By that calculation you live roughly on 2.300 cal per day??? How is that possible, unless you sit on your butt all day (what you obviously doesn't do)?
couldnt you do a hybrid carnivore diet with carbs where you only have carbs in the post workout meal or maybe 2 post workout meals then carnivore rest of days?
@@dlnoir5960 um yeah it does? Ketosis is when your body is in a state of using fat for energy rather than carbs. Thats the main reason carnivore is so great for overweight people to drop so much weight so fast

I want to say it was a podcast between Dr Paul Saladino and Dr Kevin Stock. Here is a start - www.kevinstock.io/health/high-protein-diets/
I say this with no disrespect but you have obviously never done carnivore if you believe cutting fat is how you gain muscle on carnivore. Fat it not only essentially but necessary to gain weight.
@mark bell Really needed this as I debate my approaches to getting back into lifting to gain strength while trying to lose fat. Have 30lb to lose. 😫 So I guess high-protein carnivore with at least 60g fat? Considering Mike Dolce's cut but hesitant to add more carbs after being low carb for years.
How do you feel? I'm about the same weight but I'm eating around 170-185g of protein and the rest fat. I was consuming like 220 but I bumped it down. What's your macros look like for protein and fat?
I eat carnivore but b4 my workout I eat a banana and that helps a lot,. I drank cranberry juice b4 my last workout and yes it had sugars but it wasn’t the same.
I don't think this guy understands what bulk means. First thing he tells you to do (after saying not to do carnivore) is to increase protein and lower fat. Bulking requires energy surplus, and the only way to get that on carnivore is through fat.

I didnt know that not having enough fats mess with the hormones? How is that? Makes me think of stuff I felt in the pass.
Great video b/c im trying to bulk but eat clean. I kill a lot of deer so thats my lean meat. I do 2 ribeyes a week, started this week. But the hormones thing you mentioned got me thinking.
Pounds of meat are expensive here in China
So the short answer is: No, you can't bulk on a keto diet.
By the way, 400g of protein is a lot. Nevertheless, it amounts only to 1.600 cal. If you eat less than 70g of fat (eating always lean steak, egg whites etc.), that amounts maybe to 500 cal. By that calculation you live roughly on 2.300 cal per day??? How is that possible, unless you sit on your butt all day (what you obviously doesn't do)?
Uh lol ya you can bulk on keto. Calories in/calories out.
He literaly snort some air
Good info Smell! Love it
couldnt you do a hybrid carnivore diet with carbs where you only have carbs in the post workout meal or maybe 2 post workout meals then carnivore rest of days?
and not mix those post workout high carbs meals with much fat, just a minimal fat but inc some omega3s
Whole milk defeats the purpose of carnivore
how? it comes from an animal
@@dlnoir5960I’m assuming because you don’t want the sugar or carbs but rather stay on ketosis
@@wethepeople8280 Ketosis has nothing to do with the carnivore diet, its just something that comes with it, from what I understand
@@dlnoir5960 um yeah it does? Ketosis is when your body is in a state of using fat for energy rather than carbs. Thats the main reason carnivore is so great for overweight people to drop so much weight so fast
what is the best lean cut of beef steak
If i try carnivore diet
1.reduce man boobs
2.improve eye vision?
Perfect video I was looking for explained great thanks a lot buddy
Just do what i do! your carnivore high fat ground beef and lamb + eggs then every 4th day drop the fat and have carbs with lean protein its more of a cyclical carnivore diet really.
Well spoken and informative. Thank you
Thank you
Fat goes Up, protein goes Down for bulking.
Started carbs again, and yes you are right, gained 5lbs right away. Is the vertical diet better to do as far as working on strength gains and power wad training? I feel my instinct is telling me to stay on the meat based diet. Thx
You were meat based before adding in carbs right?
@@marksmellybell448 yes,and it was great
You gained water weight from the carbs, not muscle though
You ain’t cracking the sidewalk without carbs.
Great info thank you
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video
What kind of Test are you on? I like test c
I've been doing carnivore for for about 3 days now but I'm bloated and gaining weight. I thought this was for weight loss.
Your body didn’t adjusted yet.
Just stay no carb don't cheat with fake sugars water only it'll kick in soon
Sports performance at higher levels and health often conflict.
Great info!
400 G of protein? Every day, how???
That's 14oz. Eat one 20oz steak.
Probably the most asked questions.
Yes 💪🏽
Is that 1 gram of protein of what you want to weigh or of what you weigh now? I’m 440 pounds and looking to lose fat but gain muscle
Now.
Mark Smelly Bell thank you brother, you are a huge inspiration to me.
BigMex777 I’m here for you guys 💪🏽
Mark Smelly Bell that’s why I truly appreciate you. I’m on day 8 of carnivore and I’m loving it.
Doesn't whey protein make you feel bloated?
Try whey isolate
Whey is junk
The whole point of the video was to help us that are on carnivore bulk while only consuming the foods we want to consume. One of the first things he says is eat rice and some carbs lol come on man. Not the point
No roids at all
I have been wanting to try the carnivore diet but was wondering how it would affect my gout do you have any input on this it can really bring a guy down when it flares up
I can’t remember which podcast(s) I listened to that discussed carnivore and gout, but the answer was that meat is not the cause (contrary to traditional medical advice). I want to say it was a podcast between Dr Paul Saladino and Dr Kevin Stock. Here is a start - www.kevinstock.io/health/high-protein-diets/
Man just keep the calories high then the bulk should work :D
How do I keep the carbs from turning into belly fat
By not eating any
You need more fat. Butter, cream, animal fat. Add some honey to yogurt for some energy carbs.
Answered what I needed to know in 2 minutes 🙏
I say this with no disrespect but you have obviously never done carnivore if you believe cutting fat is how you gain muscle on carnivore. Fat it not only essentially but necessary to gain weight.
He's got no idea what he's talking about
Ok so the question is can you bulk on a carnivore diet and the answer is absolutely...just add some carbs...ok lol
"Can you build muscle on a vegan diet?" Mark: "Absolutely! You just gotta add some meat and eggs!"
Mark Belly Smell is one of the best fitness youtubers.
Can you have one cheat meal on a Carnivore diet? Maybe once every 2 weeks or once a month?
Yes I allow for that. Follow my new challenge on this channel. I’m doing weekly updates with tons of info
Lean meat on carnivore? How ignorant that sounds.... Funny
Luke 15:23
KJV Bible
And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
CARN4LIFE
He mentions the milk and all that. Thats not carnivore thats more keto than anything else
So the answer is you cant bulk of a carnivore unless u stop carnivore and start a high protien with carb diet.
that was basically his answer however it was the wrong answer
Do you use caffeine on carnivore ? From preworkout?
Then it wouldn't be carnivore.
Best way to bulk on the carnivore diet is Deca….. lol
I been doing 300g of protein, I'm 165lbs
If someone wont eat meat, they don't deserve to be jacked if you ask me
How do you feel? I'm about the same weight but I'm eating around 170-185g of protein and the rest fat. I was consuming like 220 but I bumped it down. What's your macros look like for protein and fat?
Can you tell me what you eat?
so not carnivore? got it..
How can eating rice still keep you on carnivore diet?
It doesn't
I eat carnivore but b4 my workout I eat a banana and that helps a lot,. I drank cranberry juice b4 my last workout and yes it had sugars but it wasn’t the same.
I don't think this guy understands what bulk means. First thing he tells you to do (after saying not to do carnivore) is to increase protein and lower fat. Bulking requires energy surplus, and the only way to get that on carnivore is through fat.
