I'm a beginner in crypto, so please excuse me if I ask some very basic questions. To store my crypto on the keystone via a software wallet (e.g. Metamask), does it mean I need to first transfer assets from the exchange to Metamask and then from Metamask to the keystone?
i may ask lts of quests ;) . what the difference for updating firm ware by the microSD card >< usb cable? which one is better? both of them must be update manual not automatic? @@dhoneysett
Open source allows for less trust of their company. When it's a closed sourced wallet you 100% trust the company how it works and what's in it. Open source allows the community to review it and collectively see if it is safe to use.
@@dhoneysett Thanks for the reply! Keystone is an open source , and Ellipal isn't. This means the former has less "Trust" but at the same time it's safer tu use, unlike the later?(Ellipal)
I bought the keystone 3 pro, but I couldn’t figure out how to set the as card , I think you have to know more about computers to do it , and I thought you would store the key to your assets, but it only work with hot wallets , so basically if you want to use , you have to use hot wallets and protect them with the keystone , so far I only use it for xrp , I use more the tangem , lot easy to use , I love it , I also have the ledger nano x
The problem is that Ledger is the most supported hardware wallet and can be intergraded with a bunch of software wallets and extensions including MetaMask. It does not really have a good replacement.
Hi Mike, we have integrated with 20+ software wallets in different ecos and still we are working on it. We have been working closely with MetaMask and we are currently the only one support both MetaMask extension and mobile version:)
@@josephbenyisrael1768 Open-source allows for a community-driven approach to security, where any vulnerabilities that are discovered can be reported, discussed, and fixed. Let's say, if someone wants to steal your seeds, he has to put hacked firmware into the microSD card through computer, Keystone device will examine the signature of the firmware package, and the hacked firmware will not pass the process and can not be installed into your device. By making the firmware open source, the whole community can also examine that we didn’t have any backdoors or misconduct from ourselves.
People are hating on Ledger right now because they are coming out with a feature to share your keys in the cloud with 3rd parties, this feature is not out yet. Also Ledger is only able to be used with plugging it into your computer. The Keystone is completely Air gapped.
@@TheWhiteAfghan yeah don't worry it's not out yet and you need to update it. They might be taking this feature back also. But the reality is it is a closed sourced wallet and no way of knowing if this feature is possible with current hardware everyone already has.

I would say for short-term/medium-term trading its pretty amazing. For storing long-term (vault), I would look into a DIY seedsigner
can you do video guide incase Keystone is lost or broken, how do retrieve the assets? many thanks

You can directly from your exchange to keystone!
So why do I need Metamask?@@dhoneysett
Do you know if the Keystone Pro can support multiple fingerprints for authentication?
I believe it does can set up a few.
@@dhoneysett Awesome! Thanks for the quick response.
Is there a specific micro SD card needed?
Nope!

What do you think of Trezor and the coinjoin scandal right now?
Still gotta do some research on it and see it tested. Some worried they are censoring what goes in the coinjoin. That is not what we want

This does everything a ledger does except for included Desktop wallet app. But yeah ledger is overall still strong market cap for a reason.

Personal opinion. After years of following researching other protocols. I don't think other coins are secure enough to hold up against attacks.
I have one btc only and one for my shitcoins. 🤷♂️
@@dhoneysettwhat about XMR for instance it’s literally a privacy coin
You need to review the *ELLIPAL Titan* wallet immediately! It's better than Keystone.
Thanks I'll check it out, maybe the mini? looks like a cheaper option than the keystone? OD you have it and if so you like it?
