I would recommend Keystone. It's one of the few open-source hardware wallets on the market, which eliminates the possibility of backdoors or other shady practices. Additionally, it's very user-friendly, especially for beginners.
Ledger uses 2 chips to secure the keys. This means the chip cannot be overloaded to lever access to the keys. This is not possible with Trezor because that uses only 1 chip. Ledger supports more crypto assets than Trezor Trezor however is fully open source If you have the money, why not keep both a Ledger and a Trezor? You want the cold storage wallet if you’re dealing with tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars worth of crypto. It’s NOT a waste on any level if you’re holding a substantial amount.
As shocking as Ledger’s security breach was, I think it’s somewhat disingenuous to conceal Trezor’s recent leak of customer e-mails and the ensuing phishing attacks. The leak might have not been as severe as Ledger’s failure but it’s still noteworthy.
I dont recall ever using my email address with my Trezor, so im quite confused how there was even access to emails? Even if there was, knowing my Trezor was never tied to an email address, there's no possible data breach because it is a cold storage device.
Wait nvm, was likely emails from their order placed. Luckily I specifically made a burner email with Tutanota. Regardless, that just means that there is nothing about the wallet itself that is unsecure, just their website servers, which are inherently unsecure anyway.

Neko's hardware wallet will be an excellent defi-born alternative to the usual suspects I see here. Should be available in the fall! I have a ledger now, but will definitely pick a Neko up when it comes out.
Remember your hardware wallets are only as safe as the private companies that run their servers. The safest and most private way to store your crypto is with a core software wallet on an airgapped machine.
Greetings to you guy. By the way, I am so convinced you are a rap artist by the introduction to this presentation. You are definitely NOT a financial advisor! 😂 Thank you for doing all the research for us. I greatly appreciate your efforts. Best regards to u and your team.
For a few months now I have been searching tirelessly for information on how to start investing. I even payed $1000 for a course that I now regret. It appears that there is no structured guidiance for beginners on how to get started in this realm. I've come across several investors making well over $250k/annum and would be grateful if anyone on here could provide insights on how to get started, identify potential stocks, when to make an entry, exit etc.
Keep it simple in the beginning. Buy something, like an index fund, and hold. Educate yourself in the meantime and elevate your risk tolerance over time.
In order to make profits from trading you need loads of experience and a well defined strat'egy, which most tra'ders don't have. If you trade without the proper preparation, you're most likely to lose your money. Identify the buy/sell ratios and identify the market leaders and most importantly. Dive'rsify! This will help you spread risk.
Even with the right technique and assets some investors would still make more than others, as an investor, you should've known that by now, nothing beats experience and that's final, personally I had to reach out to a market analyst for guidance which is how I was able to grow my account close to a million, withdraw my profit right before the correction and now I'm buying again.
The adviser I'm in touch with is Rebecca Catherine Schmidt she works with Merrill, Pierce, smith incorporated and interviewed on CNBC Television. You can use something else. For me her Strategies works. She provides Entry and Exit point for my securities I focus on. Look her up on the internet
SafePla is quite popular nowadays in crypto community I would love to hear Guy's opinion on that new mainstream device. No new information in this video basically a copy of the previous Guy's video from the last year.
Great content, looking to buy a wallet, I still have some concerns however: I understand opensource is great when you want to provide transparency for a blockchain project, an NFT project, ICOs and so on... But doesn't opensource make it easier for attackers as they have the code in front of them?
I'm sure it's been mentioned many times In the comments, but the best deal of all wallets is this Ledger Nano S Plus. Surprised you omitted this from your video.
Never mind with my previous question earlier regarding Yubikeys etc! Reviewed the BC Vault presentation, which completely answered my questions as to the important use of cold wallets for cryptocurrencies! Thanks
As thefts from hardware wallets have been phishing / scams and not software/ hardware related the airlock is irrelevant and just a marketing gimmick to fool and convince the gullible, the exact people who will fall for a phishing attack as they think they are impenetrable
Doesn't matter if you use Bluetooth. Its not less safe. Nothing can happen unless you unlock your ledger and grant permission manually to make a transaction. You obviously have never used one.
Trezor model T guy here! Passphrase protected. The security is amazing. Sleep like a baby knowing it's impossible to wake up and realize you were robbed... not gonna happen
Guy! You totally missed a crucial hardware wallet. There is only one hardware wallet that works seamlessly with metamask mobile. Keystone! It’s excellent and was a real game changer for protected defi on the go.
Too bad it's so dang big and a battery hog. Love it otherwise. Hopefully Metamask mobile opens support for other cheaper/compact airgap wallets like SafePal.
To be compared to hardware wallet of Ngrave named ZERO. Is this first crypto hardware wallet with the highest security certification in the world (EAL7) really has better security?
I've been looking into the Arculus wallet, cause I really like the idea of a steel card & how it is 3FA, it takes a pin, the card & connection to your phone w/biometrics to unlock it. Though it is relatively new & coin support is somewhat limited, hopefully it will grow quickly. I'd like to see more on setup of some of the security ideas you mention, such as setting up a dummy account, though I get the idea & could likely figure it out, once I have a device to do so with.
I have one. The fact that it's a card makes it unsuspecting to no coiner normies. It's a rather interesting wallet that uses your phones NFC to setup, restore, unlock wallet and sign transactions. 3FA works with biometrics, PIN and the card itself; if you don't have biometrics enabled, it will still work as 2FA using PIN and card (you still need the card to sign transactions). As for coins and tokens, you are right, they are super limited, though by the looks of it, idk if they'll ever roll out support for other native coins any time soon.
@@russbilderback signing transactions is surprisingly easy since all you have to do is hold the card to the back of your device, along with PIN and biometric. As for the apps ease of use, its passable. I still have a bit of trouble when sending coins, there is no send all option so sending off the entire stack is not possible. Sending all from Exodus and Ledger can deduct from the top of the stack, Arculus needs a remaining balance. All things considered, I like it. I just received the new card upgrade (more coin support). The app itself could use more work.
Hey Guy, great video! I have a question unsolved though. Could you restore a wallet created with Trezor to a Ledger device or viceversa? It would be as easy as just restoring the wallet in the new device using the seed right? I wonder if they both use the same amount of works, though. Thanks!
Yes. With your recovery phrase in hand you could restore your wallet on any device. To build confidence I recommend buying two separate devices and practice recovering like 20$. Try wiping one with a factory reset, then recovering the wallet. Try sending coins back and forth to two different wallets. Try making the same wallet on two devices. Etc. i did all this a while back and it makes you feel comfortable with cold storage as you get really familiar with the process. Just think of every scenario in which things could go wrong and run through all the scenarios. Same with seed phrase storage. It’s a big responsibility to hold all your coins but with rehearsals like these it allows for more peaceful sleep at night. Also reminder to factory reset/wipe any device you get; even after making sure it was from a credible source. Never use a seed phrase already on a device when shipped to you. Takes 5 min to reset, throw in new firmware, and write down a new phrase.
NEKO is the best hardware wallet!!! Take a look! Also a soft wallet and all the "fees" goes towards the holders...not to a big corporation like metamask and JP Morgan. The Neko True DeFi!!!!

Nope. CC is not open source. It's source viewable. Also, no HW W with a secure element could be called open source. There are no FOSS HW W. Closest are SeedSigner and Specter DIY.

Be extremely careful where you store your USB wallet. If a magnet gets close to it, it will erase everything on that USB stick. I just tested an old USB drive I had and it wiped everything off and the computer no longer recognized it.
@@rick69va Yes think about the risk of a HW failure on the USB stick compared to the risk of storing the KeePass encrypted file in a trustworthy cloud storage. The USB stick can get stolen or lost for other reasons too. With a strong password (+ key file) I would rather store the file in a cloud service I trust. After all, even if they try they most likely would not be able to hack it.
After being a victim of Voyagers incompetence, all cold wallets are good. A 40K loss, that a few hundreds dollars could’ve prevented. Learn from my mistakes.
Very expensive schooling you experienced, and one you'll never forget. When you lose quite a lot of money in anything, that education will serve you well in the future -- but very painful to go thru.
If the wallets don’t actual hold the coins but rather is way to secure and unlock access to the coins, then why wouldn’t a Yubikey or Titian be a way to secure the coins? Really enjoy your presentations. Thanks.

Be careful of ledger they have the worst technical support team and sometimes they take up to 15 day to reply to user and sometimes more...
Thank Guy !! This is great info to create. I’ve had people ask me for help and either I’m not explaining it correctly or people have a hard time grasping… perhaps a lil of both lol 👍👍
Would recommend Trezor instead of Ledger since Ledger has backdoor
Your opening disclaimers are hilarious. Always good stuff in the videos.
Good going Guy. Spot on. ...especially with bankrupcies. Staying alive, staying alive...
Very thorough from the Beuro.
Neko's hardware wallet will be an excellent defi-born alternative to the usual suspects I see here. Should be available in the fall! I have a ledger now, but will definitely pick a Neko up when it comes out.
Looks like a good pick indeed
How do I find out more info about this wallet?
@@CIK360 The Neko!!!
Yes, patiently waiting
I'm also waiting for Neko's wallet 🙌🏼
Always love your content. Would love your thoughts on ARCULUS. Love the concept. It’s newer and has limited coin support.
I have one, it's awesome.
Don’t have any wallet and have considered ARCULUS because I only have my iPhone and no computer. Does ARCULUS support QNT ?
Have you guys heard about the NEKO wallet? Looks like a runner up competitor against these current hard wallets
Thanks for the Video, although, i was also expecting you to have included the ELLIPAL TITAN cold wallet...?
How about Safpal
Don't hardware wallets require someone to give some of their info to hardware wallet companies? How is this more secure than a software wallet?
D'cent hardware wallet is an excellent choice. Surprised it wasn't on here with all the features it has.
Thats the one I want
D’CENT is the best one in my opinion. Ledger NANo is wayyyyy overrated
Can it store XRP XLM XDC ALGO HBAR and FLARE?
@@SolidGeddoe everything except algo
Love the shirt, love your videos! I guess no one can claim you were their financial advisor.
Remember your hardware wallets are only as safe as the private companies that run their servers. The safest and most private way to store your crypto is with a core software wallet on an airgapped machine.
How do you do it? Explain pls
Exactly. Seems more centralized than software wallets. Hardware wallets = more security = more centralized control?
Can you name one?
Greetings to you guy. By the way, I am so convinced you are a rap artist by the introduction to this presentation. You are definitely NOT a financial advisor! 😂
Thank you for doing all the research for us.

Neko launched by Yasha is my go to they’re launching soon 2FA will be the best software/ hardware wallet
SafePla is quite popular nowadays in crypto community I would love to hear Guy's opinion on that new mainstream device.
No new information in this video basically a copy of the previous Guy's video from the last year.
Please cover the Safepal S1 Hardware Wallet. Would love to hear the coin bureau opinion!
ELLIPAL is air gapped would love a review on that
Great content, looking to buy a wallet, I still have some concerns however: I understand opensource is great when you want to provide transparency for a blockchain project, an NFT project, ICOs and so on... But doesn't opensource make it easier for attackers as they have the code in front of them?
I'm sure it's been mentioned many times In the comments, but the best deal of all wallets is this Ledger Nano S Plus. Surprised you omitted this from your video.
Wee need you to revisit this list...
GREAT and MUCH NEEDED video, Guy!! Can you still receive REFLECTIONS for unstaked Crypto stored on Trezor or Ledger wallets?
Well done Brother ,Thnk You for taking the time !
Thanks Guy for another reminder that if its not your keys its not your coins!
Amen!
No no no! Not your keys, NOT EVEN coins. The exchanges are probably "selling" more coins then they have in reserve.
Never mind with my previous question earlier regarding Yubikeys etc! Reviewed the BC Vault presentation, which completely answered my questions as to the important use of cold wallets for cryptocurrencies! Thanks
Thanks for this great video.
Can you explain the “seed redundancies “ on the Trezor T?
Air Gap is the only safe hardware wallet
No Bluetooth no cable #SafePal 👍🏻
😄
As thefts from hardware wallets have been phishing / scams and not software/ hardware related the airlock is irrelevant and just a marketing gimmick to fool and convince the gullible, the exact people who will fall for a phishing attack as they think they are impenetrable
There is also Keystone
Doesn't matter if you use Bluetooth. Its not less safe. Nothing can happen unless you unlock your ledger and grant permission manually to make a transaction. You obviously have never used one.
.. also nano S plus
A video about the Ellipal wallets would be interesting
To be compared to hardware wallet of Ngrave named ZERO. Is this first crypto hardware wallet with the highest security certification in the world (EAL7) really has better security?
I’m ordering the Trezor Model T thanks Guy!!
QUESTION: can I replace the original USB cable for my Trezor Model T with a longer USB cable? Thanks!
yes
You have a very professional operation. TY
Be careful with biometrics. Cop wants to unlock just tries a facial unlock and then accidently presses a finger to rtc. Etc.
@@chuchinboots how do you like it? And how easy to use is it?
@@russbilderback signing transactions is surprisingly easy since all you have to do is hold the card to the back of your device, along with PIN and biometric.
As for the apps ease of use, its passable.
I still have a bit of trouble when sending coins, there is no send all option so sending off the entire stack is not possible. Sending all from Exodus and Ledger can deduct from the top of the stack, Arculus needs a remaining balance.
All things considered, I like it. I just received the new card upgrade (more coin support). The app itself could use more work.
This was a great video! Learned so much more about the hardware wallets.
Ledger for the win
Just last week, Ledger said they will soon stop offering support for Ledger Nano S.
Dcent is the best by far, I have ledger too
Nice and informative vid as always! Coin Bureau gang! Just an FYI the ledger discount code doesn't work
Hey Guy, great video! I have a question unsolved though. Could you restore a wallet created with Trezor to a Ledger device or viceversa? It would be as easy as just restoring the wallet in the new device using the seed right? I wonder if they both use the same amount of works, though. Thanks!
As far as I understand, yes you can. Never tested this tho 😀
As long as they us a standard BIP-39 passphrase, yes
@@ps_83 indeed
I'd argue elepal titan or Cobo vault is more secure than ledger or trezor since they use QR signatures and they're airgapped

I’d pick Ledger over any other hardware wallets and Atomicwallet as my favorite software wallet.
Security is at its peak here.
Peak? Their software is not even open-source !!
I personally used to store my USDT in Atomic Wallet and it suits me fine
TLDR; Ledger and Trezor, so nothing new here.
For BTC specifically, ColdCard has some excellent security features, and both hardware and software are fully open.
Nothing beats a paper wallet, esp a BIP38 one
Nope.
CC is not open source.
It's source viewable.
Also, no HW W with a secure element could be called open source.
There are no FOSS HW W.
Closest are SeedSigner and Specter DIY.
Thanks big man, another killer video. Very much appreciated.
I made my own hardware wallet with USB stick . Not a smartest move, but fine for me.
First i put KeePass portable on it where i then noted my mnemonic phrases and individual private keys(only use them for
Be extremely careful where you store your USB wallet.
Bought a nano x with ur link just now, thanks Guy. Now to set it up when I receive it :(
After being a victim of Voyagers incompetence, all cold wallets are good. A 40K loss, that a few hundreds dollars could’ve prevented. Learn from my mistakes.

you lose quite a lot of money in anything, that education will serve you well

If the wallets don’t actual hold the coins but rather is way to secure and unlock access to the coins, then why wouldn’t a Yubikey or Titian be a way to secure the coins? Really enjoy your presentations. Thanks.
