I am using Ledger but really concern about the Recovery thing, so I also ordered Tangem as a second wallet. This is so easy to use. Beginners will love this.
Great channel. Regarding this wallet, I really don’t feel comfortable generating seed phrases online. The biggest benefit that a HW wallet must offer is this step totally offline.
Would have been nice if they made a premium version with metal cards similar to Arculus. I would also like a larger number of card you could tether to the address.
Security issues with Ledger then my first choice was Tangem but since it was sent from outside EU i was concerned about tax so got an Trezor i dont like the desin but it's secure like Tangem.
The only issue I have with new wallets is the security exploits are never discovered early. It takes years and usage and eyeballs to stumble across them.

That really depends on where you're going to buy your coins. It makes sense to use the networks that have lower fees. But not every exchange supports every network. So for example, if you want to store USDT on your Tangem, It wouldn't really make sense to enable USDT on the Tron network since. you can't buy US tether in Tron format if you're using Coinbase. Of course, if you were using Binance you could. So it's really a matter of which exchanges you have access to. The simple answer to your question is you should enable the networks that have the lowest fees, so you'll save money. But you need to be aware of how to use each network as well. The safe bet is the Ethereum network. It's supported almost universally, even though the fees are slightly higher

Always appreciate your content. Keep up the great work. I have noticed that there is a disproportionate number of videos on how to setup wallets and move digital assets into wallets. What is needed are videos showing the proper way to take profits from a wallet and move them into fiat in a bank account. If you would create a video showing how to do that, that would be a must see video and possibly a first of its kind.
Great point! Over the last year or so, I've always tried to make it a point to show not only how to fund the wallet, but how to transfer crypto out of the wallet. As far as when to take profits, that's more of a trading issue. I try to stay out of that kind of advice.

If you’re looking to cash out, your best option is a cryptocurrency exchange like Coinbase or Kraken. You can connect your bank account to those exchanges so that when you make trades for cash, you can withdraw directly to your bank.
Also not mentioned in the video, very important information: your phone needs to have the capability of communicating with an RFID chip. It is a functionality not available in all phones.

Using their phrase seems OK to you - but I really REALLY do NOT want a seed phrase chosen for me!! I just yesterday got my new new Tangem 2.0 3 card wallet yesterday and sent my first transaction off the CEX. Went very smooth, and feels great to be holding it myself for the first time. How do you visually see your UTXO's on Tangem though? I haven't seen a video on that yet.
New subscriber here. Just got my tangem wallet and will be setting it up. My question is, do I also need an exchange like Coinbase? Or can I bypass any exchange and do everything from Tangem? So if I have Tangem why would I need a coinbase account or any other? Also, how often do you back up the cards?
This really depends on your individual needs. I personally have several exchange accounts. They really don't cost you anything to maintain. And they generally give you better trading fees and transfer fees. However, you could simply rely on the Tangem card for all of your swaps. However, you are using third part services under the hood. So you are in effect using an exchange. I haven't done the math, but my guess is in the long run it would be cheaper to use a centralized exchange like Coinbase or Kraken. You would just have to learn how to do trades and transfers back and forth between your wallet. But that's entirely up to you.

You cannot create multiple accounts within each crypto. There's only one account for each crypto. When you set up the seed phrase it's very similar to the non seed phrase setup. You simply sync the cards up. You don't have to enter the seed phrase. You simply write it down when it's presented to you. And yes, you can see the total value of your portfolio at the top.
Do you know if there is anyway to track your Tangem wallet in a crypto portfolio app such as Delta? I really wish they would just add a pie chart section to the Tangem wallet so that you can see your overall portfolio percentages

What about fees on erc20? Every time I swap an erc20 token it will give me a fee sometimes higher than other times. But on tangem I didn't see any fees.

Your existing amounts are accessible when you import a seed phrase. You've basically just created a mirror backup of the original device that generated the seed phrase. However, the existing accounts are not always created seamlessly. If you import a seed phrase from a different hardware wallet, you may not see all of your accounts because of the way different hardware wallets interpret the derivation path.
Since you can set up seed phrase, can you only use one card for a wallet? And use the 2nd card as a completely different wallet? So you have 2 seed phrases/wallets?

I was reviewing my banks transactions and I noticed that the payment was made to a TANGEM SINGAPORE bank account, does that sound right? I mean isn't Tangem located in Switzerland?
Once you add tokens on a new card, it comes only with ETH and BTC you have to scan the card every time you add a token witch I did. Now the question is there is no prompt to scan the other 2 cards so how will they know you have say now 4 tokens in my case SOL and XRP?
The reason the app needs you to hold the card up when you add a new token is so it can export the public information of the new token wallet you're creating. You could actually use any of the three cards to do this. The other cards really don't need to "know" about the new wallet. They can generate authorizations on-the-fly by using the master private key when you're authorizing transactions.

One of my concerns with setting up tangem with 3 cards is being able to actually test a scenario where I would have to use my backup cards. Would you be able to create a video showing how to replicate a scenario where for example one loses or has the their primary card stolen and now has to use their backup card(s) to actually get back to their crypto currencies. I personally don't use the new optional seed phrase with the 2.0 but I am presume the two different recovery scenarios (with seed phrase & without) would be similar . If you have chosen to use the optional backup mnemonic seed phrase, then you wallet backup is compatible with a whole host of other companies and wallets. You'll be able to use your card(s) for day to day access. The seed phrase is only a backup in case you lose your entire card set. In that case, you'll buy a brand new set and use the seed to restore.

True. They are forced to display the seed phrase on the app, since the device has no display. The app is open source on Github. github.com/tangem So you can confirm that there are no back doors in the app. If you wish to increase your security, you can also turn off your Wi-fi and wireless data while you're generating the seed phrase. You could also remove the sim card if your phone has a removable sim card.
Yea if you wanted to you can buy a separate phone with NFC and just use it over wifi like a tablet and not ever pay for a phone carrier. I may do that. Then when not in use put it on airplane mode and no communications will go in or out. Very safe. Just make sure the phone is clean and not infected from years of use or something. be safe

what does tangem use to connect between the phone and the card? It's not bluetooth? Also can someone steal you Tangem card - then set up the app an steal the crypto?
Tantum card uses what's called NFC or near field communication. It's the same signal that you use with Apple pay on your phone. If someone finds your card, they cannot sync it up to their phone without the passcode that you created. So no, they cannot steal your crypto if they find your card.
If you have lost your seed phrase or accidentally transferred your crypto to the wrong address, there is no way to retrieve it. depending on your situation, it is very rare that someone is going to be able to help you retrieve lost Crypto. Most of the people claiming to be able to do this are scammers who are going to want you to give them some sort of upfront payment. And they will keep stringing you along until they can squeeze you for as much money as they can get before you finally realize that they're just leading you on.

You can easily test out your backup card simply by using one to authorize an outgoing transaction. They will work just like your primary card.

You'll be able to use your card(s) for day to day access. The seed phrase is only a backup in case you lose your entire card set. In that case, you'll buy a brand new set and use the seed to restore.

Sure about Casper, but I know you can store Hedra. on a ledger.

True. They are forced to display the seed phrase on the app, since the device has no display. The app is open source on Github. github.com/tangem So you can confirm that there are no back doors in the app. If you wish to increase your security, you can also turn off your Wi-fi and wireless data while you're generating the seed phrase. You could also remove the sim card if your phone has a removable sim card.
Yea if you wanted to you can buy a separate phone with NFC and just use it over wifi like a tablet and not ever pay for a phone carrier. I may do that. Then when not in use put it on airplane mode and no communications will go in or out. Very safe. Just make sure the phone is clean and not infected from years of use or something. be safe

How did your transfer fee in ethereum network cost that low? I did my transfer on binance or bybit but it cost me around 6UDST as a transfer fee
what does tangem use to connect between the phone and the card? It's not bluetooth? Also can someone steal you Tangem card - then set up the app an steal the crypto?
Tantum card uses what's called NFC or near field communication. It's the same signal that you use with Apple pay on your phone. If someone finds your card, they cannot sync it up to their phone without the passcode that you created. So no, they cannot steal your crypto if they find your card.

Only the new card supports the backup and restore feature with the seed phrase. The older cards don't have that feature.

If you have lost your seed phrase or accidentally transferred your crypto to the wrong address, there is no way to retrieve it. depending on your situation, it is very rare that someone is going to be able to help you retrieve lost Crypto. Most of the people claiming to be able to do this are scammers who are going to want you to give them some sort of upfront payment. And they will keep stringing you along until they can squeeze you for as much money as they can get before you finally realize that they're just leading you on.
