Hey Anna, I'm Axel, the guy in the video. Thanks for the game, it was nice meeting you ! Long live the cow !
Thank you so much for the game!!
@averellgamble2130 Je pense que tu voulais dire crawl et non creep ;) pour ton ouverture. Great video again Anna!
Axel, I think the creep opening is better than the cow. Just need to find ways to develop the Queen side. Sorry Anna. In exchange, I will sub to your channel. 🎉
Yes, ma traduction était approximative, je pense en effet que crawl est mieux haha ! Merci ;) @@beastmtl
You seem like an awesome dude, Axel
I can hear Pia now: "Axel made an interesting opening. Very interesting. Not what I would do."
Exactly!
Yes, I can hear her say it
PIA FTW
That is absolutely an opening.
He put his shoulder into it.
What a flex!
Make the creep an opening
The creepy crawly is already an opening
Real chess rizzzz. Man of culture.
Not really
The first 4 comments in this comment really making a sentence😂
he is probably too shy and too humble to say it; but Axel
is one of the best poker players of his generation. This is the very first time I've commented on a UA-cam video and I wanted to say that I really appreciate your content! THANKS!
I knew he looked familiar and then it hit home. Axel is a bloody brilliant player!
If you are writing cow theory you'd better play the right moooOOOOoooves
Brilliant!
@@scubadawgy Udderly Brilliant.
Lmao
😂
I heard this in Anna’s voice for some reason 😂
We need a hybrid of the two openings here, The creeping cow would be popular just because of the name.
Nice! I was thinking creeping cow too and found you beat me to replies.
What a bizzare name.😂
it's a fun tournament idea to make a tournament where white plays the creep and black plays the cow.
I love Axel, he came prepared
He's right - he's a man of culture.
I think playing cow-cow openings was very gentlemanly to Anna. Because, if a side loses to the Cow, the Cow still wins! EDIT: Then, in the 2nd game, it became, you showed me yours, now I show you mine!
A man of cowture.
Men of culture assemble! We still want words with the cameraman from the Anna & Botez arm wrestling thing!
I choked when he said that lol
Opponent: Hello, nice to meet you! My name is Axel
Anna: *your name means shoulder in Swedish*
Could be worse though... In German his name literally means armpit :D
And in English of course, it means the bit between two wheels. And then there's Axl Rose ... well, we won't go into the origin of THAT (not with sweet Anna around ...)
No it doesn't.@@QuentinSingvogel
@@msch2229 Well, it's Achsel in German and oksel in Dutch, both mean armpit. Saterland Frisian seems to have acsle as shoulder too. The Old English version used to mean both things in the run of time...
The way to a woman’s heart is through her opening.
Underrated comment
Ayo
It’s officially an opening now
This man bringing the cow to you as his opening move is the equivalent of a chess pickup line. You are a smooth operator, Axel. 😉
He's got some competition from the Italian though ...
really loving this format with the voice over explanations. It's great. Nicely editing in the actuality as well - nice touches.
Yes, she's so polished that you seamlessly follow her games without even thinking about the production. You're right there watching the game holding a consolation pint after dropping out.
Axel is a great poker player. He's won a total of more than $1.5 million at poker tournaments, including 136,000 euro at a live tournament in France.
Shoulder with cow opening should be Eva Bergman’s next movie’s name which plots on rural Sweden
The smile when Anna saw the Cow opening, worth it. Well played sir.
He really investigated his opponent and made the game as such to a present. THAT's flirting at higher levels :D
French "ramper"
To crawl, creep, trail
Or otherwise to move out of the opening like molasses, it's like a single-sided cow.
Try adapting it to the cow double-sided style, can be "the creeping cow" with horns turned inwards
The Checkered Pasture: The Complete body of Cow Theory by Anna Cramling
clever, clever!
I think she should hire Ben Finegold to write it: "Moo like a Grandmaster"
Congrats Anna!! He played your opening! You're officially a celebrity now 😂❤
One really cool thing about this tournament is that you are meeting some realy cool people. Also I like your tournament videos more because there is more suspence in addition to the banter between players and commentary of the game.
I love that he says he knows it because he is a man of culture! haha
“DO YOU KNOW WE NAME PEOPLE SHOULDER IN SWEEDEN?”
Lmao. Had a couple of pints in ya I see! 😂
Well plaid. You bring a smile to my mornings. Love the actual plays with commentaries. You do it very well.
Enjoyed cordial interaction between the players. Good sportsmanship.
In Fact, Axel in german means Shoulder too. Well, actually it means armpit, but i wouldnt have said that one either.
It's spelled differently though. But you are right, if you just hear it spoken, you can't tell the difference.
I've been working on the Black Knight's Tango lately, and seeing this game of Cow, I imagined a push in the center followed by a knight manoeuver Nd7-Nf6, wich could give a nice position attacking on the king side and could be called the Cow Tango variation, or the Mexican Cow.
Cow ain't no joke. I got beat by the Cow yesterday in a frustrating locked-down position. Think it was the first time I lost against the Cow but certainly could tell that opponent knew some theory and had been playing it for quite awhile. The Cow ain't no joke.
Thanks Anna, so glad u won. Looking forward to the next game and you up on the podium.
what a gigachad, just feeding the content for us. what a guy
The king/queen fork was a thing of beauty.
Epic battle between shoulder and inventor of the cow.
Great match and narration. Thank you Anna & Axel.
2:26 NO WAY
Congratulations!!!! That's actually awesome
It is always a pleasure watching you:
.Play chess.
.Talking.
.smiling.
.joking around with other people.
.having fun.
Love and good vibes from holland 🇳🇱
You have to like how the winning line began with B:f2, which was the essence of "La Rampant" (the creep). Very nice combo with the rook sac - great game Anna - enjoyed
la rampante, don't call it the creep opening 😂
If she wants to use the English at least call it "creeping" instead of "creep" -- there is a huge difference.
This is chess history. Axel has brought us the paleron de boeuf variation of Anne’s opening.
This is great! Been playing the cow with friends and have had pretty good success with it.
Awesome Anna ! fascinating games. The cow Trumps the creep. I think I was playing the creep opening back in the day too. BTW got my favorite colors down to 3 . Sky Blue, Sunset Orange, or Sunrise Yellow...... Love ya Anna !!
I have yet to try playing the cow 🐮, but I really like watching it. Great job winning that round!
Beer was almost spit on the chess board there when she saw the opening. What a fun game! I get stressed thinking about both the cow and creep openings, not in my wheelhouse at all, but it was so fun watching you two play them!
Truly enlightening when you bring you own art in to change the playing field.
My own example is Smite and the Goose Chase to maneuver an entire team like a shepard without "boots" , a staple item. Did it so many times, they took boots out of the game entirely and made a new game mode.
Every time friendly team OCD for their own strategy had them screaming at me to buy boots, I was way ahead of them, and they never knew why I was running like a mad hatter when they couldn't see on the mini-map with what I saw with my own eyes. Very few saw the opportunity of time and placement, using the definition of speed (distance over time) to line up everything like a good shephard. There were other items for speed that scaled damage off the bat that made me faster with the same amount of gold.
Axel is such a good person! Dream to had him as a friend!
In Game 2 Axel's opening is unfortunately old news as creative/prolific GM Duncan Suttles often played the KIA with Nh3, and then many times followed with f3/Nf2/e4 (60's 70's), including Suttles vs. Hort Polanica Zdroj 1967, Suttles vs. Polugaevsky Belgrade 1969, Suttles (2470) vs. Keene (2435) Skopje 1972, Suttles (2425) vs. Andersson (2595) Thessaloniki 1984. Because of his influence I have tried this in a couple of serious tournament games, as well as speed chess in the 80s.
I also get excited when a guy says he's gonna show me his opening 😂
Congrats, Anna and Axel
Cow vs cow! That's almost as epic as hikaru's and magnus' double bongcloud
I never thought I'd love watching a chess match until I discovered how entertaining and skilled you are at chess. You are the Chess Princess.
5:05 I feel he was doing an impression of the great carlini lol
Brava Anna, è sempre bello vedere ragazze allegre e cordiali. Continua così!
That was so cool that he opened up with the cow. I did that today as well. I got killed.
Should’ve played a vegan
Killed or grilled?
@@dougjustdoug6391 that would’ve been better
I did too. h5 is so annoying.
@@dougjustdoug6391 or smoked?
Guess it was only fitting how the Cow vs Cow game ended. The Creep (as in creeping up, not creepy person) opening is a bit like the King's Indian but with a knight in place of a pawn. Between the two, I like the Cow more because that doesn't feel as awkward to set up as The Creep. Looking forward to the next video!
That makes sense. Your shoulder joint is an axel of sorts.
Axel (aka The Shoulder) was such a great sport! First he played the Cow opening! Then he showed you the Creep opening which he invented when he was 12! Hard to say which is better since the time allotment was so short in the Creep game. But both are part of chess history a la Anna now!
@AnnaCramling I learn a lot from watching your videos, been gaining a lot of confidence in my own moves from watching you make the same kind of moves that i would always disregard because i always presume “well the internet would think there’s a better move here.”
I guess my main question is where would i go to learn more chess theory?
anna so nice to opponents she has a great greeting smile
This is wonderful, a good man :) Well done, Anna.
I love this series!
"The cow needs some center too"
Ahhh, come on Anna, what a cliffhanger!... Laughed heartily when the two cows meet on the battlefield, both smelling the flowers. Brilliant 2 games. Hoping you get the 3rd place spot.
This is the reason we love Anna. ❤
Looks like you had fun with this match, I hope you win the next match. 😊
Tyler1 is writing most of the cow book moves at this point xD
Anna, you have the BEST sense of humor playing chess that I have ever seen on You Tube!!!
The sisters can't hold a candle to you!!!
anna basically did to his opening what her parents did to her. pia’s critical ‘it’s not very good’ and juan’s supportive ‘i will play it in a game’
GM Duncan Suttles was known for many creative ways to play on the kingside with the KIA, including other ideas after Nh3.
Now Anna knows how Goku felt when Cell tried a Kamehameha on him.
Goku didn’t create the kamehameha .
@@songoku-jx3cbno, but he made it famous
Anna, watching you is better than not watching you, good luck in all your games 😄 and Axel shouldered his responsibility playing the Cow.
There is a book on the cow! It's called "The defense game" from pafu, someone show this to Anna
Actually, the interesting part about the Cow is that if you both play it, it’s like a mutual handicap
15:30
Smash the french creepy opening😂😂
Experimental Openings AND it's an Anna video--I never stopped smiling!
Hi Anna! I just started playing the COW, and have won every single game in a row. I did not think it would be a good opening, but now I have changed my mind. At least people are not booked up on it. Thanks for showing it to us. I am shocked so far.
nice of anna to let him play white again after he played cow in the first game
That was such a fun video thank you 🙂
The people who come third in competition are often happier than the people who come second.
I’m so glad Anna didn’t lose to the cow opening
Such dramatic music - I hope it is reserved only for Cow opening games! I am mesmerised
Thats how i played when i was a kid, i thought i was so cool didnt know it was an actual opening i always called it my "castle defense" even though castle is an actual move haha
Cowabunga! It's Cow vs. Cow! And that's no bull! 🤣
That openening with Nh3, Bg2 and Nf2 isn't new. It's called the Paris opening IIRC. It's mentioned in BCO.
need to try the new drake opening for sure
The french dude seems such a nice guy. Overall a tough competition. ❤
"maybe i'll play your opening sometime"............yeah right lmao
the cow's gotta graze the center
I'm going to London and try my luck together with the Cow. And tell them who invented it.
cowtastrophic opening !
Axel Hallay. He's a legit pro poker player, nice.
you made him nervous
That's a good game right there.
A new video?!? Sweet!
😃
How are all the players in this tournament so good looking?! In my area all the board game players are swamp goblins.
All people in your area are
Ouch. That's harsh
like way you look in there eyes yet they dont
You can call the book. “Chess dairy”.

Love this
ohhhh...I feel some chemistry😅
That guy has game.
Wait, his 2nd opening is actually known as the "Block opening" as much as I know.
My friend taught me this around 20 years ago..
Very interesting
