Two things to think about that also helped you not win. You thought your opponent was weaker than you when you started the game. That was a strategic weakness on your part and made you play unfocused. A person does not get to that point in a tournament without having strengths to get there. You underestimated your opponent. Because of the underestimation you played slower in the beginning which assisted in causing you the time issue. You lost because of a mental lapse in strategy. You are very good, however, you must never overestimate yourself. It is a consistent tragic flaw for most who lose in situations that require strategy. At 10:59 you had him...you should have played Qf3X, when he retreats, take the knight on f6 and continue with Kf3. There a bunch of possible attacks from that position. If he retreated to g1 you have check again while forking the h2 pawn, or if he retreated to f1, you're attacking the h2 pawn while threatening check again and a chance to move the queen closer. Good game though!
My thoughts exactly, I really hate the addition of a timer, urgency has no place in chess, you should be absorbed in the game not distracted by a clock, I mean I get it they need to get through the games quickly to cram a tournament into the alloted time but no-one there's going to take 'that long' about it, it just feels like a cheap addition

They both took turns beating the little girl
It may have been he wouldn't have faced her if she had won against Anna, or if she had won earlier she could have lost to him and still been in? not sure honestly lol
Great game! Love your channel. It has inspired me to get back to playing chess. Just today, for the FIRST TIME, I beat the computer on the "HARD" level. Loads of fun!!!! Thank you for sharing so many great videos on Chess. I always learn something and I love watching the strategies involved.
OH! Loved the "Anna, stop drinking beer and look at the board." Hahahaha!!! So much fun!
Anna, do you lose to the clock more than to the opponent?
That was super kind of you to go along with your autograph as one of the prizes ❤
Please don’t resort to click bait. He clearly wasn’t angry. I’ve seen this in other thumbnail photos of yours, but this is the most deceptive yet. You can do better.
Congratulations on winning 4th! 👏 I love watching your games! And i love how you edit your videos! I love how you find a way to keep things private while your there but having your own commentary over the game! You've definitely made chess very fun to watch! I'm sure you'll also achieve your goal at getting faster this year and I'm sure your learning lots from watching the game being played again now you can reanalyze your strategies. Keep doing these videos! They're so fun to watch! I hope you never give up and you always grow!
Love how deeply unimpressed you are with the ‘bottle of wine’ and ‘signature’ prizes!
5 minutes is not long enough for a game of chess.
Hello Anna. I love your videos. Your attitude and personality is so engaging. I played a lot of chess long ago, was in the school chess clubs etc. But then I grew up and life got in the way. I raised a family, had a professional career (well, several in fact, including being a musician, being a business owner, it's quite a resume) which took up much of my time, and now that all of that is behind me, I'm reengaging.
Anyway, Anna, wherever you go you are always the winner in grace, wit, humor, beauty and sympathy
Every time , she loses time, aiming zeitnot for her. She is more powerful than any of them.
Such great stories are part of WHY your content stands out!
Don't drink beer while playing chess; just a thought Anna.
Italian guy seems like such a catch tbh. Idk how old either of them are tho but they both look mature/adult enough.
i know this is about chess, buyt i have to comment: The cute Italian guy can't stop looking at Anna even while he plays another game. adorable!
happy you switched from shaked hands to shook Anna haha--your videos are great keep going, you gotta hit 1M subscribers soon
shes playing in england and in the collins dictionary shaked is an accepted word. go cry about it.
@@standardtuning4guitars423incorrect--no crying required
anna's smile and friendliness is so contagious ❤❤❤
I'm with ya Anna! I hate time constraints. I have never played with a clock in real life and don't want to... but, you (and other ChessTubers) have inspired me to maybe sign up for a tournament.
Italian guy was low-key flirting but she didn't even both to learn his name aha. Poor dude, she was having none of it.
" i have lot more time of my opponents (65 seconds), I start to feel really great, looking around smiling, feeling amazing"
Anna, you are amazing
She's such a great chess player and isn't afraid to show an "L" every now and then. That's what makes her so great! Great match!
I'm happy to watch these, and I enjoy listening to you discuss the game! :)
like the internal byplay - "stop drinking the beer!"
