The reason Jesse has his “weird morales” (despite always having a soft spot for kids) is because he’s seen what having meth head parents does to a child from the episode “peekaboo”, the one with the atm machine. It’s examples like this that prove both BB and BCS have A+ attention to detail.

Half Measure and Full Measure were the episodes that took me from “this is a great show” to “this might be one of the greatest shows of all time.”

I felt this is where the show really started to peak after two seasons of buildup. We were introduced to Gus, Saul and others, now in season 3, it was how were they going to tie into Walt's story. The plot, writing, directing were all top notch
The scene where Jesse is in the hospital talking to Walt saying he’s lost everything is one of the best scenes in the whole show. So well acted by both of them
I agree season 3 is when it kicks into high gear with everything with gus and the cartel. The last two episodes and one minute in particular are up there with some of the best in the whole series
Love this season! The scene with Hank vs. the twins from the cartel is so intense!
I sort of disagree with the point you made at 8:35 about how the Walter/Gus partnership feels like a ticking time bomb from the get go. I've always felt that the initial stages of the partnership were the most stable Walt's conditions/working life ever was in the entirety of the show, since he for the most part had Gus's trust and resources to protect him from Hank/the DEA. However, I think the point where the relationship goes downhill is ironically after the fly episode, as that's when Jesse starts to cross the boundaries with the sellers and Walt sort of starts to lose it in the lab, showing how the fly episode is in a weird way the turning point of the show.
Is there any chance we could get an El Camino spoiler review? The review you put out three years ago was six minutes long and you were in a hotel room. It would be nice to hear your more fleshed out thoughts.

Even the more ‘mundane’ stuff in the show had me fully invested, the character work is that good
Loving this series. Every season moving forward gets so insane
What this show does so well is always have the next villain be worse than the previous, and it uses the danger posed by the previous villain as a contrast to see just how bad the new guy is.
Tuco is way worse than Crazy 8. Then the twins show up to avenge Tuco and they're super scary.
But when they're dispatched about halfway through the season, it comes as a shock, since their introduction really framed them as the main antagonist of the season! But instead they were just there to set up how dangerous Gus is - he is much worse than anyone we've met so far.
And then of course, by the end of Season 4 to mid Season 5, we realize that Walt is even worse than Gus, and somehow our protagonist has become the villain.
Truly one of the greatest seasons of Television of all time. Cannot wait for the S4 review 🙏

Man I love how you review tv shows I wish you would review more shows like this both new and old
I can’t really do more than I’m currently doing. A season of television takes MUCH longer to watch than a movie. Right now I’m spending 3 hours per night to watch through these seasons to do these reviews. That’s a HUGE commitment.
When is your next video
This is the Season when the main story of the show begins after 2 great season of set up. This has the intensity, drama, emotion, depth, and high stakes that had been set up. Gus is alongside Lalo is the best villain of the Badverse and Giancarlo is amazing. One Minute is one of the best episodes of the show and the shootout with Hank and The Cousins is some of the most intense/best stuff the show has to offer. This really shows Walt transforming into Heisenberg and the cliffhanger in the finale is about as good and intense as any cliffhanger to any other show. This Season is fantastic and take the series to another level, And the next 2 seasons take it to a whole another level.
This show being what it is to me, I can't tell you how much I look forward to these reviews. Thank you so much sir.

I don’t think I addressed that specific episode. I don’t think I have much to say about it. I suppose I appreciate the desire to do a very character centric episode to establish their working relationship. But I totally get why it has a questionable reputation

Breaking Bad was much more than your giving credit for. Beside action spectacle and HOLY SHIT MOMENTS, the shows writing and character work has always been top notch! Seasons 1-5

I love this season. I really loved the show up to this point and found it nearly flawless, and the beginning of this season was a tiny, tiny bit slow, but this season really got into gear. We get more of Saul, Gus, and Mike, all of which are great characters, and all of Walt's hijinks with trying to appease Skyler are both compelling and hilarious. One of the big reasons that this show works for me is that it's really, really funny, and a lot of that comes from the simple interactions between the characters, and I think that aspect of the show was always there and always great. You also get the twins as these essentially faceless hitmen who are incredibly intimidating and intense to watch. Overall, it's a phenomenal season.
Gotta disagree with you when you said the day to day stuff is not what we tuned in for. I loved all of it. The only thing I can say wasn't what I tuned in for was the fly
Why? If you’re tuned it for all of it, the fly is the episode most dedicated to the Jesse and Walt relationship
@@SeanChandlerPlus because its the only one that felt like a filler episode, which it kinda was. They ran short on the budget and had to do the best they could. I don't hate the episode, I like how they show the relationship between Jesse and Walt but it just felt like tier below the rest of the series.
And I think the episode most dedicated to their relationship is 4 days out, the one where they got stuck in the dessert when the rv battery went dead

The most stale and overrated season of Breaking Bad. Saved by some episodes, kind of runs in its place too much without any change when there clearly should be some. Overall, I... liked it.
