- We've made it to PEAK Breaking Bad with season 5! Here is my review. I hit record intending to review the entire season, but I just ended up talking for too long, and literally filled up my card. So it looks like this season will be split in 2.

The fact that I got invested with just you talking about this season just shows how incredible this show and season is.
"Say my name."
"Heisenberg."
"You're goddamn right."
Has to be one of the greatest lines in television history
This season solidified this show as my fav show of all time. It’s perfect.
The only show in its category is Dark
@@economicsmadeeasy5266
*Sopranos, The Wire, and Game of Thrones S01-S04* would blow Dark out of water any day
One of the best lines in the show HAS to be him saying, “WHAT THE H-LL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! WE’RE A FAMILY!!!”
I find it so hilarious on rewatch
When you were talking about laughs this season, my biggest laugh moment happened when Jesse ate dinner with Walt and Skyler, and Skyler asks "Did you tell him about my affair too?", and then it just shows Jesse's face, and idk, his face after she said that was just priceless
It’s amazing that we got this final season! Originally, they were going to end in with Season 4, I think.
IIRC they were in danger of cancellation and made season 4 a potential ending point whilst still always planning for a fifth season.
"Talking quickly......never gonna happen with me"
That was hilarious.
I've missed that you've reviewed these. This review is amazing. I'm gonna have to go back and watch them all.
Glad you enjoyed it!
“Jesse wants out because he’s not a sociopath” is a great summary of Jesse’s plot thread this season lol
That's where the bar has been set for characters on this show. Haha
Loved this breakdown and the previous ones you‘ve done! Really great
I get your point about having more space and time to explore the ramifications of different decisions/events in S5, but I think the fact that there’s less and less time for that stuff contributes to the overall feeling of accelerating tension and unease that this show achieved so well
But then again these writers are so good that they probably could have figured out a way to give those things more time without letting up on the mounting tension, so you definitely have a point
I think Bill Burr is fantastic in this series! Too bad they didn’t bring him back for BCS…
Apparently he was busy, they wrote him in but there was a scheduling error and he couldn't do it. He felt really bad about it. Quite a shame, at least he got a mention.
@@tjclarke6074 he said on a podcast that he was spending some time with a dying relative, but his manager made it seem like he's got free time
@@kevinoryon9007 very unfortunate situation
Felina is still the best finale of all time, I loved the ending for this amazing show!
Not the most well written episode but still good.
It's crazy to me, but I've heard a few people say that Season 5 (especially 5A) doesn't connect with them, because of how strong Season 4 is and how iconic Fring was for the show. Specifically, I've heard that 5A described as boring. I disagree with that, to say the least. Thank you again for these great breakdowns, and thank you for appreciating Season 5 for the masterpiece that it is.
Season 5 was really underwhelming for me after season 4 and its still in my top 5 seasons of television ever. That's how great season 4 is to me.
The final straw that broke the camel's back for me with walt is when when he not only was okay with todd killing a kid with 0 remorse and then was damn near whistling F'ing dixie while disposing of the body. Everything after that i.e. killing mike and going into buisness with neo nazi was just added hatred toward him. After that i was a okay with him dying and part of me kinda wanted to see him die in prison alone sans family.
Going through this season currently. So Awesome. So satisfying. Also loved BCS finale. Also Lmao @ Meth Damon 😂👊
I literally just finished watching the rest of your season 4 review so this was perfect timing! Cant say I’m surprised you split this season into 2 parts, given there’s just soooooo much to get into. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts 😎
Great review sean thanks for sharing buddy
For part 2 you could spend 30 minutes just discussing Ozymandias because it's the best episode of tv ever made
I only recently was able to watch breaking bad. So glad I did it was pretty painful in some areas, some early seasons hit a little too close to home but it ended in a great way that felt logical and grounded. Most of the madness and just brutal consequences tied to that lifestyle were very accurate.
Meth Damon- made me chuckle 🤣
I love how this season completes Walter being the villain and seeing him pay the price for cooking meth. He lost everything his family his friends and his empire and he has no one who's going to mourne him. Even though he left Walt Jr with money the damage he did to him and everybody else will never make up for it. I love how they have hank finding it out it was Walt cause his ego couldn't let someone else get credit for his work. Hank is one of the mvp of this season
If there WAS room for improvement, it’s that we needed a bit more info about the Madrigal company before this season.
Thankfully, Better call Saul provided more info
@@hoodiejalen366 But taking BB on its own terms, you DON’T have that info. In fact, we have to wait YEARS for it!
@@mediamaniac898 Yup I understand that I just wanted to point out that fact
Now we just need a kid named finger prequel set back in his dirty cop days. He could take Jimmy in their time machine and thus saving him from 86 years in the can. Slippy Jimmy gonna slip all over Philly with kid named finger babyyy!!!
This and Season 4 are PEAK Breaking Bad and how to do Great Television. Love the first half of this season and the way they set up the downfall of Heisenberg and his Empire. Say My Name is one of the best scenes and episodes of the series. Mike is one of the best characters of the BadVerse and Banks is so great in Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and it's sad seeing him go out like that but still a great death. Love the way this first half sets up the tragedy coming and having Walt and Jesse try to take over the Drug Cartel which goes downfall without Gus. Loving seeing great new characters like Meth Damon and his Nazi uncles doing a great job at following up an amazing Villain like Gus. The Ending of this first half is awesome sets up the Endgame of the series. Amazing first half of the final season that sets everything flawlessly and the second half takes it to another level. Can't wait to see you review the second half and talk about Ozymandias The Greatest TV Episode Of All Time.
Breaking Bad Season 5 is my favorite season of Breaking Bad & it's my 2nd favorite season of television behind Game of Thrones Season 6.
GOT season 6 is incredible.
Loving these vids sean!
Best season of breaking bad and probably the best season on television ever
I'm glad you talked too much because this season does deserve 2 separate reviews for the front 8 and back 8 episodes.
A+ all around, I remember the creators saying, regarding ending after only 5 seasons, that they wanted people to say,
"Gosh, I'm sad that show is over!"
instead of
"What? B Bad is STILL going?"
I admire that approach of serving the story and going out on top rather than milking it for 3 more seasons
I cried when Mike died 😔
Meth Damon😂😂😂
I love Todd’s character
Why?
He was *PSYCHO!!!*
Todd is one of the most misunderstood underrated characters
I love your work and your view on movies and TV shows
Best final season of television ever!
This is one of the best descriptions of the last season
13:45 LMAO
This first half of a season is excellent. It handles the difficult task of introducing, like, three great new characters and a couple different factions pretty much flawlessly. Todd, for example, is so fascinatingly sociopathic and terrifying in his initially hokey, non-violent nature and Jesse Plemons makes the character so sickening and genuinely evil. The entire arc of this season and seeing Walt completely descend into evil and making the most fatal of mistakes for both himself and others is some of the most compelling stuff he does in the show, as well as his situation in the final episodes where he's in the worst place he's ever been in his entire life. The shenanigans with Walt, Jesse, and Mike are a lot of fun, especially the train sequence. Every single character conclusion felt earned, with Hank and Mike dying because of Walt's errors, Skyler and Flynn being secure with Walt's money, even without their knowledge, Todd being killed by Jesse after all of his horrible actions, the Neo Nazis being taken out by Walt, and Saul getting a way out because of his connections, even though Better Call Saul added a much better conclusion for him. It's just an incredible season with some incredibly tragic moments throughout.
This is the best season of television hands down. It is like Godfather 1
Do better call saul waterworks review please
“Good idea, gave me some idea for future business opportunities”
Care to elaborate?
Thanks Sean 🔥💪
Landry is crazy

I swear to god, when I saw it I thought it was a reference to how Better Call Sauls theme became so bad that in the end we just see a blue screen.

Easily the best shows oat. Only tv show that has and ending that compares is Mr. robot.
Any word on when part 2 is coming out??
This is answered in the beginning of this video
@@SeanChandlerPlus omg im so sorry, totally glossed over that. My bad. Thank you
@@SeanChandlerPlus im listening back and im not hearing any info about your part 2 review?
@@CaliKidHooligun Whoops. You asked this comment right after I posted my El Camino review. In the intro of the El Camino review I explained I reviewed it before season 5 part 2 because of a time crunch.
You left this comment right as others were asking the same question on the el Camino video. I didn’t notice where you asked the question and gave an answer which was not true or helpful. Sorry about that.
It might be filmed tomorrow…or I suppose today since it’s after midnight
@@SeanChandlerTalksAbout its all good, thank you so much for your time and your answer. Cant wait to watch the next one ☝️
I'm obligated to say that I hate Todd
This might be me but I’ve always preferred Season 4 because this season, while a masterpiece too, was incredibly emotionally draining.
Agreed. It’s incredibly difficult to watch dead kids, Walt destroying his family, etc. Besides, no villain can fill Gus Fring’s shoes and I personally enjoy the big chess match between Walt and Jesse.
Hey Sean chandler you may enjoy an action blockbuster like Armageddon but do you think it’s actually a good movie
I've answered your question. I don't know what you're digging for but you're not going to find it.
You may enjoy crystal meth, but do you think it’s actually good for you?
