Even though you know that Oz is a villain you're supposed to root for in a show made to pit him against other horrible mobsters: You now want Batman to womp his ass even harder because Oz is somehow an even more insidious force than typical cartel drug runners. He is in fact a Supervillain and it is an earned title, an actual polar opposite to Hero. The Anti-Batman

I gave Oz too much credit thinking he’d likely be placed in a situation by Sofia or somebody where he HAD to kill Vic. Nope, he chose it just because he couldn’t handle having someone around that he cared about who also knew his most intimate secrets. Ice cold, fit for a penguin.

    • @TheLAGopher

And also Oz had just engineered the extermination of the Gotham underworld leadership by turning trusted lieutenants who had their bosses
backs, against them. Oz had told Sophia about guys who hustle and take all the risks only to be ignored by those they work for.
Oz could not take the chance that Vic could one day grow to resent him or just "Want more" and Oz would give him a opportunity because
his love, friendship, and trust, for Vic,(who as you said..Knew Oz's most intimate secrets) would create a blindspot just as it had for the gang
      leaders he had killed.

@@onetwo-in4mhwell considering the show is about the Penguins rise to power and the mob families in The Batman, I'd say it did its job well. Batman showing up would have caved in a lot of the story because then there's the whole "where have you been this entire time?" That would just sink the story and turn it into Batman 1.5. It was smart of them to avoid Batman to keep the story grounded and believable that there's more stuff going on behind the scenes than just what you ever see from Bats POV.

What Francine said about Oz "I brought the devil into my house..." that was a gut-wrenching and for her she realized her son was gone and their was no saving for him. It reminds me of the movie "The Good Son" starring Macaulay Culkin with Oswald Cobblepot where he is literally a monster and just progressed in being a bad person, becoming the full fledged criminal. Then having Eve Karlo dress up like his mom and telling her to tell him he is a winner says he is far gone and no turning back.
