    My OEM Yamaha Ténéré 700 rear shock has reached 40 000km. In that time I've serviced it once at 20 000km and added K-Tech piston upgrade. I've ridden 2 Dinaric rallies with it and traveled for months on the reasonably moderate off-road in Albania while working on the reforestation project Trees for Lurë (treesforlure.org).
    Now I face a big problem with Yamaha shock because I destroyed top bushing which seems to be a bit difficult to get hold of not to mention other wear parts starting to fall apart.
    In this video I go through the maintenance and wear parts and provide a reason why upgrade to Tractive Suspension rear shock may be a good investment.

    Hi. Thanks for your video.
    Did you do the New piston in the oem shock yourself? I also want to change this on the oem schock. I can't find how to do it. Thanks and have fun driving!!

    I'm following since long time ago and don't understand why your subscribers do not ramp up man, you make awesome content, the same level of some very popular that I see. do some reviews of desired motorcycles or clickbait with the tenere tag haha or something to attract more people and then back to do the content that you like. You know what you're doing and you deserve to be seen more.

      Hi, thanks for such kind words! I'm super happy that the content is useful and I can share the knowledge. But I think the "knowledge" content has it's limit in terms of viral growth. It is not "entertainment" which you play for fun it's when you're looking for something....
      I hope to work on the Channel a bit more in 2022 with some travel content. I have to say I'm thinking a lot about the format for that because I really would like to give more than just "this is a mountain and this is a desert"... Let's see how it will go.
      I think you hit the nail on the head... click bait and I guess I'm not really trying to push it that much. One reason may be that I'm not doing any of this for money (despite there is tiny ad revenue) because I have my job which pays the party. Others may have UA-cam & Social media as main source of income and that's a different ballgame....

    Could you drill out the OEM bushing mounts and use the inserts from track active?

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  2 роки тому

      Possibly, if there is enough material for the change, but the top mount is problem as well (and bigger as the eye is quite small).... Also now you're talking about investment again into do all that work.
      Don't think that's a viable option really.

    Thanks for the video! Have you changed the front suspension? And what is your impression of stock front suspension?

    • @FARANDFURTHER
      @FARANDFURTHER  2 роки тому

      Hello Andrej, I've changed the front suspension for the Rally Raid Open cartridges, that was last year. I changed the front first because it was not handling well on the MX track and was bottoming quite often.
      The stock suspension if fine when you give it a bit care. It needs most of the time different springs front / rear and after that for normal travel it will work well.
      The problem with stock is that as one starts riding faster / harder the limit of the stock is quickly reached.

    Expensive. Did you get a pay rise at work? Looks nice though.

      :) Yep expensive, but to be honest when you look at other brands and options it's almost all the same price level. I sold a kidney... :)

      Engine is the most important part haha. KTM has a lot to learn.
