It kind of reminds me of me i help others but when it comes to me no one wants to help but im ok with it im happy that my son and grandson are getting grown we are 3 for3 with mule deer for 3 seasons and hope for more in future ive been applying for elk but havent drawn for past 12yrs someday i will! This is my first hunting season ever and your videos have not only got me pumped for it, but also taught me a lot about what to expect and how to handle the work involved. Just got back last night from my Cow Elk Hunt in Ruidoso NM. On Monday, third day of the hunt, I finally spotted our first Elk bedded down a mile away. Me and 2 Cousins stomped out 5.5 miles around private land to get to her. Wind and set up was perfect! We ended up pushing up a big heard and filling three tags all inside of a minute. Tremendous experience, and delicious meat in the freezer! Just like this video shows, sometimes you gotta go where the Elk are and the people won't. Good job guys!!

For me climbing down a steep hill is way worse than the climb up. Just seems like it’s rougher in the joints.

They potentially wasted an entire bull elk
Both climbing out of a Hell Hole and descending into one are hard. I think the only thing worse than climbing out of a hell Hole is descending into one knowing you still have to climb out! But if you get into elk, it's well worth it!

It is better on my artificial knees to go up a hill, especially if there are a lot of blow downs and rocks. I am pushing 70 and still backpack hunt like you guys only at a slower pace. Shoulder replacements sent me the cross bow route I like your show because of the lack of cursing and the great sportsmanship you all display Thanks to each one of you for making a bright spot in my day.
I love the way Trevor bugles! I think he sounds so realistic. I would love to have Trevor or any of you guys hunting with and calling for me and my husband. We do mostly cow calls and raking. We hunted Oregon three years and I got one 4 x 4 Roosevelt bull in 2013, frontal shot through the heart at 44 yards, he went 10 yards and died within my view. We have hunted Colorado the last two years. Not sure where we will hunt next year, but Archery Elk hunting is my favorite hobby and I will be applying in over 5 states myself and dragging my husband along again. By the way you all met my brother Waylon who lives and hunts in Oregon, he is the one who introduced me to Archery Elk Hunting.
B-MAC depends on how bad it is.. in some situations I would rather be going up Hill.. but down hill can be really good.. congratulations guys!!
Falling going up is always better than falling going down. When going down, falling is always on your mind but doesn't cross the mind going up, usually.

Rather up. Going down is hard on the ol knees and when your going down you know your gonna have to hike back up. At least you know your getting out when going up.

Love the hunt you are on my dream hunt to get a elk I think this should be every year the day by day season I work out of town a lot over the use I watch every night in my hotel I was lucky enough to have time off for opening day in Michigan and bagged a nice 8 point buck but keep up the good work love watching

Big elk are almost always in the big hole or on top of the ridge. Don't care where they are. Up or down, no matter what hurts more, I'm going where they are or not going at all.

Ya the old man that came up with what goes up must come down was not a hunter by any means lol! Because hunting in the mountains what you go down most of the time you have to go back up in some way been there done that in Colorado! One hell of a time and want to do it again soon loved every minute of it
Up and out would be my preference because once you go down in the hole you gotta come back out anyways

I'm writing this as soon as you asked ((haven't watched the end of the video yet) Yeah I know I shouldn't make judgement yet)), but in my experience you never want to give up hard earned elevation.... but every situation is different and unfortunately sometimes the easiest way up is to go down. So ,while I loathe to give up hard earned elevation, I always consider that going down might be an easier route..... but it still sucks!
