There is no worse feeling than putting in so much effort and also caring so much about the animals you hunt to not make a perfect kill shot. Keep your head up and hope that that bull clotted and healed up and will live another day. And thanks for the videos very informational for someone that has never hunted anything more than whitetail. No matter how many times I hear those close bugles (even on video) still makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. It’s absolutely impossible to explain unless you’ve experience it. Awesome guys! Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work! PS...he definitely jumped the string. I swear to god I watched a bull 3 years ago actually squat down on the string and right over his back. Ive seen it on a mule deer as well.

I lost a bull early in September this year not a great experience for sure, I really feel for Trevor. I was sick to my stomach looking for him and I am sure you had the same feeling.
Hopefully we get to see Logan get a chance to have bow in hand and get a chance at something.

Eric.....keep them vlogs coming man! I like the breakfast and dinner shots....LOL. its always fun to see the camp shots believe it or not. I think for us hunters, its simply because camp is inviting. its where you end up (hopefully) to get food, sleep, drop the pack, and get comfortable. that's probably why I like seeing the shots of them, the meal prep, etc.
I seem to remember during the fire bull hunt Eric shot his bull the first time and it didn't die. He kept at it and ended up getting it some time later. If he gives up and punches his tag as someone suggested he won't see it again for sure. Keep up the vids!

Eric-I’m in love with pancakes/French toast/waffles and syrup. However, I’ve been eating a keto diet for the last two months. So no sugar or carbs for me. I have the odd cravings when I don’t eat enough. But so far I have managed to drop just under 30 pounds. So right now, I’m a bacon and eggs and avocado kind of breakfast guy. Also add salad to my breakfast lately too!!
Not the best angle but it happens. The ones who say it has never happened to them are either relatively new to bow hunting or just flat ass lying. Really enjoying the series and the way you guys are always carrying on with one another. That's what hunting is!

Dude I'm not gonna rag on you for the shot. I am going to make a suggestion though. The heavy bone threshold for arrow weight is 650 grains get above that and stick with a single bevel and that becomes a higher percentage shot

Fantastic videography as usual. I feel bad for Trevor. It's EXACTLY like Brian said, that bull was on top of Trevor in a few seconds. Elk hunting is like that. Until any of us, are there, at that exact moment with bow in hand, I would only hope that sooner rather than later, that bull can be recovered. I'm most certainly, not going to get critical and be an " armchair elk bowhunter" and begin to tell all of my fellow subscribers "I would've done this or that" We weren't there, so for all of the critics maybe rein it in a bit.
Lastly, I'm glad to see both Hush and BRO crews, leave this footage in. There are huge takeaways from this hunt scenario. Lessons to be learned.

Good luck boys! Finally made it come together on my first bull this year and hit him too high. Followed blood for about a half mile until dark and ended up finding him the next day walking and feeding just fine. I ended up shooting a six 45 min after I found that bull alive on the way out. Glad I got to kill my first bull with my bow/ever this year but I’ll always have that thought of what I could have done differently on the other bull in my mind. Prayers definitely coming your way guys, all I know is that feeling sucks pretty bad

Pretty good chance it got into that shoulder and he will make it. I know that is a sick feeling, though. I have never shot an elk, but shot plenty of white tails.
Couldn't believe the arrow was sent, that was a quarter sized target , down to the width of a dime when he turns.. both bad shots of mine, I went back to first peep of him, and it turned out he bedded down where he first came from. His first bugle is where you find him...

Wouldn't it be much easier to find a wounded animal if you had a tracking dog along with you? I know it might be difficult to keep the dog quiet while you are hunting, but if you kept the dog at a distance and only used it for finding a wounded animal, it might turn a lost animal into a found one.
Not every state allows you to use a dog to track a wounded animal, and it's been a looooong time in coming to PA ...... this spring, the PA House unanimously approved Senate Bill 135 - which had been approved by the Senate last September - and passed legislation to allow the use of leashed tracking dogs to recover big game in all black bear, elk and deer seasons.
Gov. Tom Wolf signed the bill into law, making Pennsylvania the 37th state in the country to legalize the use of leashed tracking dogs.

John Dana nailed it extremely irresponsible shot low ethics for these boys cut your tag and go home. Learn some patience wouldn't you rather hunt him tommorow than know he is dead and you wont find him? Just more ammo for the anti hunting community seeing way too much of this behavior. Good thing none of your buds have ethics either or you might be short a few teeth.
