    Your skills are so impressive and inspirational). I've discovered yoga less than 2 months ago, at the age of 43 (I'm a male). The results are just crazy, my back and knee pain substantially dicreased, and my mood is much, much better now (suffering from depression for years). I can already see substantial progress in training, my coach says it too. I wish somebody introduced me to yoga earlier)) P.S. I also quit smoking, clean for 1.5 months, after 25+ years of that craziness.

      @larugayoga It truly is. You've presented this flowing yoga in a way that made me curious about what Ashtanga is. Your execution is excellent and inspiring. I'm looking forward to seeing more of you.

    As a young girl my grandmother would tell me the same thing. That my body is a temple but as a kid of 4 or 5 I did not quite understand what she meant, though I remember it quite distinctly. Fast forward to my late 20's marred by experiences I came to learn and understand that lesson. I agree and feel deeply with a lot of what you are saying, that the riches is in the present moment, timeless. The different layers of who I am and who i am at my core, creating that bridge to connect and hopefully again never the separate the two. My yoga journey is just beginning. My first video I saw of you was your ashtanga demonstration from 9 years ago. It was truly a marvel to see. This is my second video I've seen of you and I'm truly still in awe. I hope someday I'll get the chance to practice with you when the time is right. ❤🙏 thank you.

      @@larugayoga Oh yes, they do! What I'm really pleased about is that you recorded the sequence immediately without speaking, we only hear your breathing and the voice over is done afterwards. That was an excellent decision not to give already fully instructions with videos you have to repeat. Like today I'm at DAY 2 and when I had to start to repeat Step Zero, it was without bla, bla, bla so not an annoying repetition what I've already done yesterday. And because I upgraded my annual plan, I now have also access to the explanations and they are really going into depth. You cover everything and so the whole course is a complete guidance when we want to dive into Ashtanga Yoga.

    Hey, Laruga!
    I am practicing yoga since 3 years and I follow the videos of Boho Beautiful and also practice Ashtanga Yoga from your video.
    When I do forward fold a hump gets formed on my upper back (shoulder blades) when I bend down. Also, my stomach just come out when I try to suck it in while bending forward.
    And I shuffle like I have a upper body day, abs and core day and lower body day. After done with the upper body day when I have my lower body day my legs and hamstrings feel so stiff. I do stretch them enough and I get my splits but even if I would skip 1 day due to shuffle my hamstrings feel so stiff. It feels like a beginner again.

      I would recommend not folding forward as deeply for the time being while elongating the waist. Honestly, if you are doing other things you will feel it in the body if practicing Ashtanga. If it feels too overwhelming in the body you may have to choose one or the other.

    Hey Laura, This is beautiful and insightful video. I've been practicing Ashtanga on and off but whats stopped me is even if i do just 10 minutes of practice in the day, i always get a huge wave of several hours after practice of exhaustion that hits me. Can you relate to this or offer thoughts on this, i really love the practice and this has been a somewhat of block for me. Sending peace x

      * wave of exhaustion*

    • @larugayoga
      @larugayoga  8 місяців тому +2

      The practice can be very purifying so there it can possibly be due to that process taking place. Also, it activates the nervous system as well. However, it could also be due to not breathing properly. I would start with assessing the quality of the breath. Remember you can start with doing less in the practice and slowly build up the time. I hope this helps.

    Your thoughts on coming to Ashtanga in your 40s after almost a decade hiatus from the practice? It's a physically demanding practice, and I am concerned about potential age-related risks.

    • @larugayoga
      @larugayoga  9 місяців тому +3

      I really think the Ashtanga practice is for all ages. However, how it is introduced and taught can make or break someone. I think 40s are a good time to embark on the practice. Just know you can start small and gradually build up the practice as the body adapts. The "how" one practices is what it is all about.
