    You fail to mention that you have the fricking body off the cart. Getting those two front screws are the airbox are just about impossible to get off.

    Good video. It would have been better if you had gone through how you knew the fuel pump needed reworking and how you confirm it is working now. Thanks.

      Actually, the fuel pump was fine. Earlier I was asked where the fuel pump was located on this model, so I did a video on locating it and changing it out.

      @@diygolfcart ...and you did a good job of doing that. Thanks.
      For perspective, I am looking for videos on how to trouble shoot the fuel pump...esp the pulsar circuit.

    have a yamaha g22 that cranks good but cuts out when full throttle. Have replaced fuel filter, plug, air filter and cleaned carb nothing helped. Could cleaning the fuel pump help this issue.

    Hi, my g29 only run about 100 yards then start putting then stop. I'll sit a few seconds then it'll run about the same then stop. When I look at the site bowl it b empty. Is that the pump, carb, or what?

    Got an old 1984 columbia golf cart formally harley davidson. Fuel pump shot, so I put an electric low volume fuel pump on it, she'll start rev up good to speed and then quit. Thoughts?

    Where is the fuel pump mounted on a G14?

    Ours quit running and would not restart until we got it home and then ran fine ,could it be the accelerator pedal as it would not engage every time when attempting to start ?

      Apollo1van There is a Accelerator Stop Switch just below the pedal. Check it, it may be sticking.

    i have a G5 im trying to get running iv been through the carb already , its hard starting and when it starts there is gas spitting out of the carb and i took the air filter lid off and there is what seams to be raw gas coming into the air cleaner from the hose that runs from the air cleaner to the top of the engine , it has good compression , any ideas ?? .... thanks !

    Hey DIY,
    Will the cart run without the vent hose connected to the air cleaner?
    The fuel pump doesn't seem to be working.
    Thanks.
    Ken.

      a Bad Mojo Yes, but not efficiently. The fuel pump only utilizes 1 to 3 psi, so check for cracks in the hoses or loose connections.

      It belongs to my mother-in-law that lives about 2hrs away. So it will be a few days before I can take another look at it.
      Thanks again.
      Thumbs Up.

    I have a 2013 G29. It started shutting down, then starting back and would run a few minutes then shut down again, then start up for a bit. I replaced a dirty fuel filter, replaced the fuel pump and cleaned the bowl on the carb, now it wont fill the fuel filter, its starved for fuel. I put the old one back on but no luck, Now it just turns over and wont crank. Any ideas? Local shops are several months behind on their work so I need to fix it myself!

    Does the fuel pump control the fuel gauge ? I noticed fuel leaking from my fuel pump from behind so I disconnected and reconnected it and then my fuel gauge does not work , I ordered a new pump hoping that resovles my problem ,

    • @diygolfcart
      @diygolfcart  9 років тому

      Marko Pettit The fuel pump doesn't affect the fuel gauge. The fuel gauge has a float on it and the fuel pump works off engine compression. If it's leaking, it's either cracked hoses or busted diaphragm.

      Marko Pettit fuel pump has a small hole behind it and it drains out of it . Hoping a new one solves the problem . as for the fuel gauge im stumped ! I checked everything I think . I always hated these electric fuel gauges . better off just raising the seat ...

    I want to upgrade my Yamaha g16 to an electric fuel pump. Any suggestions which fuel pump I should choose?

      1 to 3 psi.

      Thanks. Can you tell me the advantages of having an electric fuel pump? When I push my pedal to the floor the car almost stalls out then all the sudden it takes off. Is this lack of fuel flow?

    • @diygolfcart
      @diygolfcart  5 років тому

      If both are functioning properly, they should be equal. The stalling is what concerns me. Is it the starter not turning over quick enough? It could have bad brushes if so.

    My Yamaha G29 started to smoke badly. The smoke smelled a little like oil. I checked the oil and there is definitely gasoline in it. Opened the air box and there is gasoline in there too. I was told it could be the fuel pump. The pump is working because the cart still runs. Should I change the fuel pump or just clean the vent on it. I know I will need to change the oil since it is diluted with fuel. How will I know that I have fixed the problem without contaminating the new oil?

    • @diygolfcart
      @diygolfcart  5 років тому

      This mostly happens when the governor is turned up too high. The engine works off a splasher rod on the bottom of the piston rod. If the engine started going too fast, it will cause oil to go into the air box and into the muffler. Cleaning out the air box is easy. Cleaning the oil out of the muffler, not so easy. The muffler will not get hot enough to burn it out without help.

    • @JM-bt7mb
      @JM-bt7mb 5 років тому

      I did turn up the governor about 20 hours ago. The cart only goes 13 MPH and turning up the governor did not increase the speed. Is there a procedure to find the best governor setting? Now that I have contaminated the muffler how can I clean it out? Thanks very much for your help, Jim

    • @JM-bt7mb
      @JM-bt7mb 5 років тому

      I did not find oil in the air box only fuel

    • @diygolfcart
      @diygolfcart  5 років тому

      @@JM-bt7mb There should be around 1" to 1 1/2" of exposed thread on the governor. Using a torch (carefully) and burning some excess oil out of it.
