      It's ok sometimes you just have to realize what it is you want to do. If it's rock crawling these are gonna take a little bit more than a lift kit. If you want to go on an adventure where there are a few trails and dirt well they are pretty good at that. Just keep in mind the limitations of the rig and you're gonna have a great time with that Tahoe trust me.

    Cool Suburban! We have an '05 2wd Tahoe that we bought new, as a family wagon with 2 miles on it. It is still sitting in the drive with 362,000. We've only put a water pump, alternator, and a PCV valve for repairs. Great vehicles! Next we bought the wife a 2013 GMC Yukon XL 4WD, with the 6.2 as her ride. In the past year, it has been handed down to me and I am slowly building it into a "mildly capable" overlanding rig. Living in the Southeast, we are pretty limited on Overlanding locations for multi-day trips, so I really don't need to go too extreme. We did just return from a few days of camping on Cape Lookout, in the Outer Banks and the truck did great!
    Thanks for sharing!

      Yes, southeast is very limited. The best spots are out west. Which sucks, because ive only been out west in a tractor trailer.

      If you watch one of the other max din videos you may catch a glimpse of my suburban being used to test fit a unit. Trust me Damian is definitely looking into changing both the exterior of the H2 in some way and most certainly has some things in the works for the infotainment as well. These trucks definitely need it.

      @@liluncje amen to that. Between the high availability of low cost parts and the stock capabilities of these vehicles I’m surprised he’s the only one to develop stuff like this. That I’m aware of.
      I’m working on a raised (hopefully water tight) air intake that bolts up the the passenger side. It going to be powder coated steel for the prototype.

    got a 2003 trailblazer LT ext "overlanded" out on 35s over the last 2 years,
    now im working on my second tahoe z71 2002. $4k from the inlaws sitting in their yard for half a decade.
    gonna do rhino liner roll on black body, white roof, lift/35s, winch, fresh OEMish head lights, tow mirrors, some amber pods front/back, mid grade suspension probably fox and a corvette servo. done.
    gear might have a tighter fit since a tahoe isnt as long as an EXT but the little extra width should help it break even.
    essentially the same as this

    I've got myself a square body Suburban that I'm setting up for off-road and camping. I've spent a lot of time making the inside more comfortable for wife and kids to enjoy good times with. I highly recommend some added insulation as well as a insulation film that goes on glass. I spent extra time sealing the roof with a coating that provides a bit of rubberized insulation for both temperature and sound. I'd recommend setting up your winch a bit higher because when you shove it into the mud it's really hard to deal with. I'm definitely more set up for four-wheeling then I am camping in it but watching videos like yours helps me figure out what I may need. I'm looking at adding a awning for getting in and out of the rig when it's raining. It's always nice to have a dry place to get out of wet clothing before you climb into the vehicle.

      I'd like to also add that every time I have to buy a replacement part I consider the upgrade option. You have to spend some money to buy a replacement part anyway and a few more dollars for a better part is many times worth it

    I've got an '05 Yukon XL and I absolutely love it. I'm the second owner. I threw a 3.5in leveling kit and 33 1/2s on it. Bunch of interior upgrades and mods. Drawer system in the back with just the second row. Exterior lighting. I run sand dunes all the time, so I added onboard air and a tank for airing up from 8psi. I threw bigger injectors, fuel pump, headers, and a cold air intake and had a buddy run a tune on it. I'm about to swap the T case out and add a front/rear locker kit.

    I have a 2001 k2500 Suburban. One of the reasons went with the 3/4 ton was so I could safely run bigger tires and lockers. I still have the stock G80 locker in the rear and put an electric locker in the front. I rebuilt the front end using parts from Kryptonite front end parts. They are quite expensive but they are pretty indestructible to say the least.

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  3 місяці тому +1

      That was going to be my direction as well, but I ended up going H2 Hummer. I did the arb front locker, all kryptonite as well, then added a Duramax but then....it broke over something very minimal and some bad work done. Hummer videos show it

      Just get the truck and get out and enjoy it. Sounds like its already equipped to go to some places. Get a foam mattress for the back take the seats out and it's ready. Throw in some basic gear and go somewhere. Doesn't have to be anything crazy, just use it. Be safe, have fun, and share this video with someone that likes these trucks as much as we do.

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  3 місяці тому +1

      That rack has been through all you can put a Suburban through, and has never budged. The Z71 rack can easily handle a tent. I believe he has a third Z71 crossbar because he has an XL tent. Base model racks wont do it. My Tahoe has been through it as well, and Z71 rack has held the tent easily

    cb in tape deck sllot in center console
    shorty headers, cam, trailblazer ss intake, heads. (this 6.0 has been a slow dog since we bought it)
    3” RC lift
    “Vijay” 500 dollar steal offroad rear bumper with built in lights and d rings. My idea is to copy the Sub overland 2500 dolla bumper with swing away tire carrier and hi lift/shovel/jerry can mounts. 84” roof rack

Anyway, only 100k miles on it and she runs great. I am so glad i never gave in to waifu’s suggestion to sell it. Can you guys recomend a minimum lift kit that will let me run 33’s?

    The "sketch" situation is exactly why Im planning on sleeping in my burb, so i will have to figure out how im going to store other stuff. Maybe roofrack. Kinda scared, my roof rack may fall off if tested😂 i figure i could put up a light canoe and be safe. As a minority in this country where "sundown" areas exist, i have to be extremely cautious of my surroundings. It shouldn't be that way, but it is what it is.

I grew up in ghetto areas and got jumped by a gang of black kids at 6yrs old. My dad was murdered by 2 black guys (beaten to death) and I know for a fact youll be more scared camping in the hood vs the sundown cities...lets be real.
