Chorus Review

- Chorus reviewed on PC by Dan Stapleton. Also available on Xbox, PlayStation, and Stadia.
Chorus does an excellent job of cutting out the dull parts of space dogfighting, getting right to the flashy fun of blasting through enemy fighters and capital ships with superpowered abilities. Its large and pretty map is filled with fleshed-out side quests, and they're varied enough that it's easy to cruise around for a few dozen hours and really get the hang of the combat system. The story behind it all isn't half bad once you've waded through a flood of sci-fi mysticism, and Nara and Forsaken are interesting characters to spend all that time with - which is a relief, because they're the only ones we ever get to see.

Just beat the game a few minutes ago, this review is pretty spot on. Took me 30 hours doing all the sidequests, amazing gameplay, serviceable story, just loads of fun
Any reply value
@@michaelschneider1365Not much besides just doing permadeath run or just max difficulty run
Any endgame stuff or does the game just end?
Just ends
yo is ign putting effort into being a reputable review channel?
Chorvs is a pleasant AA surprise. If you like games like Privateer, or Rebel Galaxy Outlaw or Everspace, definitely give Chorvs a shot. It scratches that space sim/fighter itch that's always lingering in the background since these games fell out of favor decades ago.
Reminded me of terminal velocity, a 1995 videogame produced by non other than Tom Hall.
Definitely gave me Rebel Galaxy vibes.
This looks like the next step up for space combat games honestly. The other aspects could use more work but the combat sequences are very nice.
This is the first I've heard of this game....I'm intrigued!
There's a free demo on steam, it plays pretty nicely.
Glad to see some light being shot on this amazing game. Been loving it on my PS5 since launch. And in a rare instance a very solid review from IGN.
How big is the download on ps5. Does it use the dual sense ?
Chorvs is much like the 2021 version of Star Fox 64!
Gamepass crew?
Yes baby,let's go :))
🔥
Yerrr
It's also on playstation premium
Broke crew
It does have amazing gameplay, it's a joy to play. I'd say the learning curve is three or 4 hours then you're lethal! First game I've played night after night to completion since TLOU2
Great game. and the graphics are so pretty.
As is the audio. In fact, the audio is the best part for me, the best of any game I've played (even better than Hellblade).
Nice review. May check this one out one day.
Feels alot like Descent and Colony Wars, Wing Commander. It has been a long time since something like this has been out, its badass!
It is actually a great game. People should try this
Just started playing this on the Series X and wow! It has been a blast playing and the 3 visual modes are pretty solid but stick with Performance mode for that buttery smooth gameplay.
That drift move was in Tachyon: The Fringe from 2001. A very underated game.
One Name. Bruce Campbell. Tachyon was pretty fun as its mostly an open world setup, you can get in your fighter and fly anywhere. The characters were wacky and fun to listen to. RedShip Rory. The Baron. Those strange culty wraith fighters that lived in the fog.
Its a game I'd love to see remastered, or if not remastered, at least updated so it plays nice with modern OS.
Looks fantastic and is exactly what I've wanted from a Space Aerial Dogfighting game after finishing Star Wars Squadrons. Looking forward to playing it! Thanks for the review Dan Stapleton and Timothy Weinell. Keep up the great work.
every memory whisper made me think of the "spice" dialogue from Dune
Great game, Ive been playing since yesterday and it has a very solid gameplay, beutiful graphics and very enjoyable
As a freestyle drone pilot im smashing this game it's amazing
Just finished it. Wow 10 of 10 highly recommended
gem of a game. Forsa is out of the warhammer 40k universe or something just an awesome character.
How does it run on PS4?
This game is better then other space shooters out now
Colony Wars needs to come back.
The OST is great
Reminds me of Colony Wars on the PS1
That was my jam back in the day. This one definitely scratched that itch for me. Definitely recommend checking it out if you liked Colony Wars.
This looks awesome imagine if it had a huge budget though it would be one of the greats.
It is one of the greats.
It still is one of the greats. Just my opinion.
Can’t wait to play this when it inevitably comes to gamepass in few months.
how come you are so sure, there is no confirmation it well enter game pass
@@Thomas-cr2pt it’s a deep silver game. They all do
@@EpicConspiracy what does "deep silver game" means ?
@@JAAKAP that's the company
And now its here lol
Games set in the future and horror games are my favorite
Just picked up been looking for great starfighter game hope they make more
Who else thought it was Chorvs and not Chorus?
different console, but one of my favorite space shooters on the Switch is Manticore.
I'm getting ready for a 3rd playthrough. this is worth trying the demo for. I'll try the
Stadia version.
Does it run dx11 ( gtx 750 ti )???
Looks like Colony Wars
Bought this game the first day it was out. Lovvvve it.
This game reminds of another great game back in the day starring Clive Owen called the Privateer. It's too bad that unlike that game Chorus doesn't have much of a story and what's there is presented in a very minimalist and uninspired way.
I'm in love with this game!
🤗😁
Who else played Colony Wars, back in the day on the Playstation??? Memories...
Reminds me of Project Sylpheed space fights with all the flashy powers being equipment in Project Sylpheed.
The music in this video is out of this world! Pedro Macedo Camacho did such a great work in this game...
Looks like a fun ride.
Does anyone kno if there will be an endgame update or dlc
Great game! Lots of fun. A cockpit view just like Star Wars Squadrons would've "Sealed the deal" for me. But still fun nonetheless.
that background music kept reminding me of GITS
Just started this game and I’m enjoying it. The ship AI sounds a lot like BT from Titanfall 2.
Finished the game all side quests and achievemtns on xbox in 9 hours and honestly one of the best games I've ever played
Loving this on Stadia!

Enjoyed this more than Starfox 64 and reminded me of the excellent Crimson Skies.
Bout this game, LOVE IT. Damn, worth the money. 30 hours doing everything?! Yes
Sounds like Nara's ship did the review
this is what star wars should have been. outstanding game through and through.
Is it like freelancer gameplay wise?
Do you only fly or can you get out the ship and fight on planets
It’s only flying but imo it’s well worth it
Give these people the attention to work for Nintendo to make a new Star Fox game with large funding.
Yes, please gaming god's above, here this man's grand suggestion and make it so!
This game is really underrated ive been playing it alot and its incredibley fun
need to play this in vr and barf after 15 minutes
Such a great game
Just picked it up. Ultra fun. The voice work slays! Such a great job keeping it intriguing and fun. It''s whimsy, it's dark. Open world quest adventure fun times with a great ost. 9/10 check it out
1:44 the Kessel run
Fantastic game awesome controls
Will IGN ever upload 4K reviews?
They don't have enough space, they are a little game review channel trying to get by /$
Ooh the ship is like EDI from Stealth
Can you imagine if they made this into a duo or multiplayer space warframe esque
Hmm this game could be interesting and I'll might check it out maybe next month after getting my money
ITS A 8!!!
Always is.
Can you play it on your cell phone
The ship forsa reminds me of the AI plane in the movie “Stealth”
GET this in VR PLZZZZZ
Dose any one know if this game is compatible with a flight stick controller????
Not compatible
You said, "blowing them off" at 35 seconds
How does this compares to everspace 2?
Is that even out yet ??
Just got this game on sale, thoroughly enjoyed my time. It took me 12 hours to complete everything, not sure what you meant by 30 hours.
Downloading atm 3.9% excited
This is a one of a kind amazing and revolutionary game altogether it looks outstanding on ps5 and series x as well like wow the styling the mechanics it's pretty badass !
This looks like a fun game.
Love it when this guy does the reviews
Amazing game, just 90% of the enemies are so small.
This game is worth the price tag, my only compliant is the combat was 2 easy (Iplayed on the hardest mode).
True successor of galaxy on fire series
Is there a cockpit view?
Part two will have a bigger budget just watch
Most underrated game in 2021
Master piece. Game play, graphics, controls, story, everything is top notch. Playing 1440p, 120hz.
Why does ign thumbs down not show any numbers?
That's on every video on UA-cam now, they changed it
Guardians of the galxy had a few space battle fights that were really dope and visually nice af
To any1 whos hasnt played it go do urself a favor and go play it
Soooo it's everspace 3?
Or Galaxy on Fire 4
LOL Haven't even seen Everspace 2 yet...
This game is better with Keyboard and Mouse. After unlocking the Drift mechanic, it becomes very obvious that you need to do some precision shooting.
It's again on a great sale at GOG, 6 .29 euros only.
Gameplay feel is 9/10! story and world building...eh. if only the narrative and characters were as compelling as the drift mechanic!
Could you imagine if this was paired with destiny? Almost like a no man's sky type thing. That would be siiiiick
Warframe

Doesnt work with flight stick what a shame...
8/10
Makes you feel like starfox
IT'S ON GAME PASS
thank you, buying Friday, payday!
My pet peeve with space fighters is when the ship is designed like a plane. If you where going to design a vehicle specifically for space combat you would make it fast in all three dimensions of travel.
They might be needed to go into planetary atmospheres sometimes.
@@Etheral101 That is actually a very nice point, I've never thought of that before
