When I was 7 or 8 years old I watched this one once in a while mainly because I was in love with Paolo MONTALBAN and we ended up having 5 kids together in real life. We're childhood friends and lovers as well. It was magic coming to life. This was one version that was more, MODERN based of course, but enchanting just the same I give it 5 Stars and 2 thumps up.
Brandy's innocent look and childlike voice was perfect. I loved this version the best (and I saw the 1960s version.) I just read that (at her insistence) ALL the jewelry Goldberg wore was real, from Harry Winston, worth 60 million dollars! RIP Houston and Desselle.
I'm in tears! I love this movie. I saw it when it first aired on TV years ago. It was one of the first things I looked for when Disney+ first started. I'm so glad it is available now. I miss Whitney Houston so much. I love the music and costumes. The entire cast was fantastic.
I love this movie! It has such a play feel to it and all the designing is on point! I also adore how there is no boundary of color, people are all just people! 💘
All the commotion over the new version of the little mermaid cause Arial is black is ridiculous. Remember the amazing Cinderella staring Brandi and Whoppy Goldberg. What a legendary movie.
I did not get the change to see the move when it first aired. I came across the movie in 2012. And every since then this is the only Cinderella movie I watch. None of the Cinderella movies compare to this Cinderella 1997 movie. My daughter and I knows the songs by heart. The cast is amazing❤👑🌹🌻🤗

There was a man who was on set in the pumpkin carriage in front of the stepmothers house and he spoke about the history of Cinderella and how the story has been told in different variations through all cultures throughout history. They showed photos of moccasin shoes when talking about the Native American version. I’ve been trying to find this intro for probably 15 years 🙃 Does anyone else know where to find it or who the narrator was?
I know this was a bonus feature on the DVD, but I think it could be a good thing to place at the end of the VHS too. This way, I would show a still image of Cinderella in her ball down with the Join Us After the Feature text on screen as the Disney video announcer says "Be sure to join us after the feature for a very special program, 'A Cinderella Story' hosted by Burnadette Peters!" before showing the Feature Presentation flashbang screen. Do you think this could have been good to use in the VHS at the end? Be honest, please.
They took an American classic and turned it into something else go get your own movies make up your own Disney princesses. Only thing you can do is copy what we do get your own stuff. This is a disgrace. Copycats.
I don’t know I just think they could’ve had a sweeter looking fairy godmother. Brandy wasn’t too bad as Cinderella in my opinion I was just expecting a sweeter type of girl but the prince not too bad I just wish they were a lot sweeter looking for this fairytale which I would expect now Goldberg as Queen hands down, yes gold but overall, this movie isn’t bad at all for the diversity it’s ok
They are adorable together such a cute couple and beautiful fairy godmother. But many don't think your pretty and sweet looking if not the type promoted by mainstream advertising and media ie blond with blue eyes. Or anime looks picture of innocence and cute. Most handsome live action Charming Prince and age appropriate Brandy was 15 or 16 and Paulo was 23 showing basically that the princes parents tried to marry him off for years. But he looks age appropriate for this live action. Until Brandy no one playing Cinderella was under 18.
Brandy and Whitney Houston were essentially rock and rollers, not musical theatre performers. They simply could not do justice to the beautiful melodies and poetic lyrics of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Why did they had to make the prince an asian man i dont get it couldn't they keep the cast all black i mean good god the producers are white the directors are white half the Extras are mixes shit!
