Same. I was 5 when this aired. I've never forgotten it. It has always had a special place in my heart. It's one of my favorite versions of Cinderella. Whitney Houston is my favorite fairy godmother. And, here I am at 29, introducing this to my almost 2 year old daughter
There's definitely parts that seem a little cheesy and it isn't as polished as other versions, but you don't think about any of that when you're watching it. Everyone is just so good and so committed to their parts. It's just so much fun and everyone just seems so nice. When she says he doesn't know how a girl should be treated, he says like a princess, and she says, "No, like a person with kindness and respect." I was just like, "Yes!! This is my Cinderella!"
I LOVVVVVVE THIS MOVIE! IT HAD SUCH A BEAUTIFUL CAST AND IT WAS A RAINBOW OF COLOR. I THINK THAT'S WHAT I LIKE THE MOST. PLUS HELLO IT HAS WHITNEY HUSTON!
I love it beautiful Rest in Paradise Whitney Houston & Natalie Deselle - Reid our beautiful angels 👼 👼 Shout out to the cast of Cinderella Brandy did an amazing job playing Cinderella. I love the 1997 Film I was 5 when it came out
Ahw the memories of this film. Whitney Houston was amazing as the fairy godmother and Pablo by god his singing voice was dreamy.Such a feel good movie I loved it.Bernadette Peters was really good as the stepmother Its a pity this movie is so underrated all because of the different races involved. The songs are so memorable. I love the sweetest sounds,in my own little corner, stepsisters lament, the list goes on.
Correct but I prefer the 1999 version where Lily was played by Kristin Chenoweth who was fresh off her Tony win as Sally in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
honestly, I'm not a fan of Cinderella and used to think this version is a bit cheesy when I was little, especially when I watched this on disney after i watched the drew barrymore's badass cinderella . but now I appreciate this version more. i mean, the dance production was fun to watch, the singers in this cast, the way cinderella wanted to be treated... plus let's face it, this version has more race diversities than any other movie version of cinderella yet 😀
Bernadette Peters have to honor to the Disney Legend award and handprint for The Carol Burnett Show, Muppet Show, Broadway musicals, United Artists & MGM's Eileen ("Lulu"), Lily St. Regis from Columbia's Annie, Faerie Tale Theatre, Stepmother from Disney TV Movie version of Cinderella, the Rosie O'Donnell Show, The View, The Wendy Williams Show, and the voice of Angelique from Disney's Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas, Sophia from Twentieth Century Fox's Anastasia, Rita from Warner Bros. Family Entertainment's Wakko's Wish, Sue from Universal's The Land Before Time X: The Great Longneck Migration, and Glinda from Clarius Entertainment's Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return.
Hang on. At the end of this 'Making of' special, after the closing credits it had the Zaloom-Mayfield Productions. When this airs internationally, the Walt Disney Television logo follows?
Even though there isn't someone of Hispanic descent represented in this film, I liked the casted stepsisters. I think just because people have often neglected people of color in many productions still doesn't mean white people should be nearly fully excluded whenever colorblind casting is done. That goes against the point of diversity. Besides, Camila Cabello is about to become Cinderella in the new version of the Rodger and Hammerstein movie, anyway. Then this movie will become even more forgotten. *sighs*
Brandy was perfect for the role.
...especially because Whitney chose her.
BEST Cinderella story ever. I loved the cast. Truly a childhood classic
I remember this so well from my child. "Something they'll remember forever" - Whitney. Couldn't be more true! A classic

You mean Whitney Houston as the Fairy Godmother
Bernadette was the the evil stepmother
Paolo, not Pablo. 😉
Bernadette Peters (playing Cindrella's stepmother) also played Lily St. Regis in the 1982 'Annie' musical film!
Correct but I prefer the 1999 version where Lily was played by Kristin Chenoweth who was fresh off her Tony win as Sally in You're A Good Man Charlie Brown
@@manuelorozco7760 you always prefer something else.
TS D'aishia Mind your own business
@@manuelorozco7760 my mind is my business
And she also played sleeping beauty in fairytale theatre
Who's here from the release on Disney+?
Me 🌹❤❤❤
We missed You, Whitney, 10 years passed…
The greatest remake and cast of All Time !!! Nippys visión for this turned classic 💜
Can’t believe Bernadette is 72 now! Which means she was 48 here!
...the 25th anniversary of this production is in 2022; how about a remastered rerelease, Disney?
I lov3 the sound of 3:19's voice.
Beauty knows no pain girls!!!!!!
i love rodgers and hammers cinderella
My favorite version of Cinderella
The only thing I'd change is Cinderella's eye shadow for the ball. Otherwise? Amazing!
I'd probably redo her eyebrows as well.
@@redglasses33it was the late 90s. Thin eyebrows were in 💀
I remember this movie and it's on Disney plus.

I love the movie and music ! i watched this as a small child
May Natalie Dessele Reid aka Minerva REST IN HEAVEN. Another talented actress gone too soon
I would have liked to see her in something with timing like she shows as Minerva
I remember when this came on the Sunday a week before it premiered
What a Disney Live Action should look like
I prefer the 2015 Cinderella but I strongly agree on that. Especially in terms of musicality, artistry and casting
Holy shit I'm now Whitney's age

@@hellopumpkin86 no Camila Cabello is going to be Cinderella in a new musical version of Cinderella but not the Rodgers and Hammerstein version.
wtf "creative casting"
