As a newly Sorento SX prestige Xline buyer in the states me and my family really love it. It fits us great because our kids are at the age where they fit great in the 3rd row if we need it and they should be fine back there for the next 5 to 8 years if we need them when we have to Cary other people in our car. Love the sportiness and the look all around.
Pardon my stepping in here. For many years, I've called EVERY entry from Mitsubishi starting with "Ugly". This SUV is top class in styling; amongst the best from this Brand. I applaud Mitsubishi for the 2022 Outlander!
Looking for a 3 row SUV to move our 4 grandchildren around and were looking primarily at the Sorento and not at all at the Outlander until the launch of the 2022. I cannot believe the improvement of the Outlander and the more than competitive price point, looking forward to them hitting the showroom and having a chance to see the Outlander in person. Love your videos and your work on Motoring TV, certainly brings a more personal approach to the normal vehicle review!
Definitely the third row in each is in a pinch otherwise there is no cargo space. Between the two the Outlander wins on style but Sorento for some power under the hood.
For me it the outlander because I like the captain chairs but I would like bench seats instead because cargo won’t roll to the second row vs captain chairs.
Nice video! One thing was missed and it's the ownership costs (maintenance) A 4 or 5 years maintenance costs for both vehicle would have been great!!! Merci!
4:09 Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Nissan end their Alliance with Renault because Renault sold Nissan technology to China with no given permission? Also I choose the Outlander. The exterior is more unique and overall looks better, I like the more simple designed interior w/o too many buttons and etc. The center console of the Sorento pops out and looks disproportionate and makes me feel overwhelmed, so I hate it. The Outlander has a more flowing design that matches exterior and interior unlike the Sorento, so the Outlander wins for me (this is all purely my opinion, no need to hate)
Outlander all the way...a truly aggressive truck look on the spectacular front end. The profile is sculptured and beautiful ❤️. The back end looks like a much more expensive BMW. Outlander's diamond quilted leather - interior screams luxury! Mitsubishi is a threat in a good way to luxury brands that do not look as good and in many cases do not offer all of the features that the Outlander does! I bought the 2022 in Red Diamond in the fully loaded GT line two months ago! Love it.💕

My wife went with the outlander and she loves it. Picked it for … warranty… made in Japan… interior. The front grows on you. It did for me. Engine does need more power. Around city is fine. Bit up hills and getting on highway it struggles
you guys are really good with these comparisons I love them keep them coming. Could we see the Mitsubushi Outlander 2022 vs Honda CR-V Sport (7 seater)
The Sorento is slated to receive a hybrid and plug-in hybrid version by the end of the year or early 2022 in Canada. We are getting it later than the rest of the world because the Canadian model will come with AWD as standard opposed to FWD in other regions.
2022 Mitsubishi Outlander: A stunning 86% "quality" and "reliability" rate by "JD POWER" An amazing 47% "resale value" after 5 years of ownership by "CAR EDGE" Extremely safe car with a total of 11 airbags I am definitely buying one, great job Mitsubishi 👍 👏 👌 🙌 😀
Ihave test driven both. Both are nice, but outlander looses on third row seats space even for 5ft5. And Sorento looses on sunroof for LX premium 7 seater.
Right now, I do not find any redeeming qualities in the design of the outlander's front. I see it as bulbous, clunky and lacking harmony. The grill itself is fine, it's what's on either side of it. Then again, time will tell. I used to not care for the redesign of the Silverado, and now I would buy one!
The Outlander PHEV, which utilizes a petroleum electric half and half drivetrain and can be more eco-friendly than diesel Outlanders in urban driving. This audit doesn't cover that vehicle, as it has advanced independently to the remainder of the Outlander go.
Great job Kia & Mitsubishi, offering 3rd row seating in a compact 4 cylinder SUV. Honda & Toyota keep making their vehicles bigger & bigger. I’m on my last Toyota vehicle.
Good comparison! I really like both vehicles. The Mitsubishi has a nicer interior and a more distinctive look on the exterior. My pick is the Outlander. I just wish it had a turbo engine option with more power.
Kia pisses me off in Canada. In the US they give either a 7 or 10 year warranty and Canada gets the welfare warranty compared to the US. We get the bum's treatment in Canada.
The Mitsubishi, with it’s latest front end, has managed to be quite the standout small SUV in a very crowded market. Well done them. The KIA may get overlooked. But it stands out in its own way, particularly with it’s interior finishings. Thanks for the video.
I feel like the Outlander PHEV is gonna sell like hot cakes.. if it's 75 km ev range, perfect for everyday commute and great for long road trips without the hassle of waiting at the charging stations
A lot of people already seeing close to 60KM of pure EV with the 12 kWh... that's not what Mits Cooperate is advertising, but that's what SOME customers are getting. Drop in this new 13.8 kWh in the 2021, and you're ready to rock!
Good job guys, you are a nice couple. By the way, the only way to know, which brand is the best, is on the long term (10 years or more) and is when the Mitsubishi shows which is the champ.
Although Mitsubishi finally has a game changer itself, they have lagged behind Kia when it comes to product offerings. Kia is a safer choice than Mitsubishi, when it comes to brand image and reliability. However, both brands will suffered for lackluster resale value and high parts costs, after the warranty expires.
You're looking at resale value for a 10 year old Outlander which becomes almost irrelevant at that age, the purchasing trend for Canadians is every 39 months they replace their vehicle. This make Mitsubishi an excellent value as you can sell your 5 year old Outlander with 5 years of factory warranty still remaining.
"kia is safer choice than Mitsubishi when it comes to brand image and reliability" -- umm Queue the engines exploding and random igniting vehicles burning to the ground.. Pretty Sure Kia wins that award... LOL

Sorento in the "compact" class? Is the Ford Edge in the compact class? The Hyundai Santa Fe? Is the Passport a compact SUV? The Edge and Santa Fe are each shorter than the Sorento and the Passport is less than an inch longer. The Sorento has more passenger and cargo space than a Mazda CX-9 Sorry, folks, the Sorento is a midsize SUV 189.4" in length. The Outlander, on the other hand is 185.4" long, the size of a VW Tiguan; each of which is relatively large compact crossover. The third row of the Sorento is "tight." Well, it provides as much legroom as a CX-9 (29.6") a vehicle that's almost foot longer than the Sorento. And if the KIA's third row is "best for small children," what do you say about the Toyota Highlander with two inches LESS legroom? Moreover, how is it that the Sorento and Outlander are comparable in terms of third row legroom when the Outlander (according to Car and Driver) provides only 18.7" of legroom ample room for double amputees or Munchkin cast members from the Wizard of Oz but no more. The KIA comes with a "regular automatic"? Actually, the Sorento is the only SUV with a dual clutch (i.e. automated manual) transmission. And though it's definitely a nit, the Sorento comes from West Point, Georgia not Korea.
I'm wondering if the measurements for the rear legroom is assuming the middle sliding row is all the way back, but if you're planning on using the 3rd row then you would slide the middle row to make some more room.
@@SergioSilvaBramptonMitsubishi Your point is well taken. I have owned 5 Mitsubishi s, A Tredia, 1994 Montero, Galant, 2001 Montero and an 2016 Outlander these have been driven up to 150000-- to 295000 the the big boy Monteros with excellent reliability regular oil changes and maintenance (people always talking about Honda, toyota reliability blah blah they have there reliability issues too no car manufacturer is perfect.
Panoramic moonroof in the Mitsubishi. A good reason NOT to buy it.
How come?
Sorento has the same sunroof
OUTLANDER,GOOD!
Outlander looks very much like Palisade.. lol. They copied it?
Too bad the Outlander has the “oh darn, we forgot to integrate infotainment into the dash, let’s plop it on top” look! :(
Friends, in your region USA/Canada the market is full with very nice US cars, like Tundra, RAM, Explorer, F150, and etc. i don’t understand why you buy such cheap (in quality) cars, like Kia and Mitsubishi?!
Reliability, affordability and fuel economy do not count towards junk.
Outlander wins
@ 7:48 Outlander has one disgusting-looking overhead view compared to the near-perfect stitching of the Sorento cameras.
The Mitsubishi is hideous.
Why is Mitsubishi still selling their cars in north America?
Cvt sucks
Mitsubishi 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
