This is an 18 month ownership review and opinion, not 1800 miles like the old guy says at the start of the video. Sorry for the audio quality. Not a Go-pro Pro
Thank you for the excellent review, I'm picking up my S next Monday. Hey, I am so sorry to hear you lost your wife recently, my heart goes out to you Dana, God bless her and care for her. ❤
Just stumbled upon your video, so darn sorry to hear about your wife. The video caught my eye because I just bought my 2023 Sportster S and wanted to learn a little more from a veteran. Stay safe good sir!
I’m glad to see you back. I was waiting on a new video from you. I’m sorry for you lost, you are in my prayers brother. Always very informative videos that you bring to the community. I wonder if you can bring more details on that usb port installation that shows on the video. I hope to see you soon.
Thank you for the kind words. The USB-C port is installed from the factory and can be used to charge a cell phone or other device and is also to upload software data updates. It's only powered when the ignition is on or in accessory mode and you can't use it to play music stored on your device. Hope that answers your question. Have a fun day!
@@Danasmith2816thanks for the information. Mine was behind that plastic cover. I had to go inside there get it out like the way you have it as factory. My Sportster S is 2023 and for some reason the USB C plug was not installed outside like the rest of the bikes out there. Thanks for your help. I hope to see more videos from you.
Thanks for the kind words. I saw, looking at your bike, you still have the stock style seating with the part that overhangs the muffler. That may be where the heat difference is coming from because that part is removed with the Corbin seat. The heat is not unbearable just annoying when sitting at a long light. Have a great day my friend.
I have been watching your videos and have finally stumbled onto this one I’m so sorry to hear about your wife! I hope you are doing okay Thank you for continuing your content and all your information on the sportster S. Best of luck with all of your future endeavours! Just subscribed to keep up to date!
I have a 2024 sportster s and i had done 1253 miles so far and i love it yes i do agree about the travel on the shock it is a hard ride but it a beautiful very quick bike great video i really enjoyed it
Sorry to hear about the missus. You picked the bike up in April 2022 you mentioned, but there was a "starter clutch" manufacturing issue with the 2021 models. Mine was replaced. You might be on the cusp of that one. The bike was throwing codes and not starting cleanly when I hit the starter. After they replaced it in mid 2022 the bike fires up every time on the first press of the starter. I am personally not a fan of the indicator choice, I like mine as stock, but to each their own. Glad to see you back online. Stay well and stay safe.
Thanks for the info on the starter issue, i was not aware of that. I'll keep my eye on it and see if that may be related to my battery losing power. I like my turn signals on the front better than the stock but honestly don't like them as much as I thought I would. There may be a change in the future. Thanks for looking at my video.
Sounds like you need extra ground wires. The frame design don't ground like it should. And it's not just Harleys. Blowing starter relays is a sign. That hesitation on starter too.
I had a check engine light come on and had engine power loss on 95, the rear tire locked and I ended up laying it down, Harley is acting like it’s not their problem the whole thing has been a real headache
@@Danasmith2816 I think the tranny locked up but I’m still waiting to hear what the check engine lights were from, there were 11 all together. Could you tel me more about your software updates? Harley never told me about any when I told them about the check engine lights previously
I'll look in the paperwork. and see if there is any info. When I went in for the 5000 service they just mentioned that they also had several software updates. When i had check engine lights it was always different things, just random, but never affected the running of the bike. If i find anything interesting i'll let you know
@danasmith2816, how are you doing? Love your videos and just checking in on you. Have a Sportster S and also live in Florida. We are kinfolk and I care about you.
Thank you. This month has been tough. I year she is gone and today is our anniversary. Really miss her. Thanks for your kindness. hope to make a video soon.
Thank you for the kind words. I had the microphone inside of my helmet to try to cut down on the wind noise so that also helped baffle the muffler sound. It's quite a bit louder in person than it is on the video, especially right now because I have the baffles out
there's a gap just behind the rear cylinder head where hot gas from the header comes straight up to my inner thigh. I bought some thin insulating material on Amazon. I slid it under the heat shield all the way forward until it covers that gap and i let a little of it overlap the seat frame. When i put the seat down it holds the insulation material in place. That's what worked for me. Hope that helps
I don't have any problems with it anymore. Sportsters and vrods are my favorite. I've had five Evo sportsters, 2 vrods and a Streetbob. This is a Sportster size bike, in fact, lighter than most of my Evo sportsters, with a vrod horsepower engine. I don't care what it sounds like, it's fast
I apologize. I'm not a go pro expert and this is just a video on my experiences over the past 18 months. I have several other videos showing motorcycle only.
@Danasmith2816 np bro just thought I'd point it out. Anyway, first time saw your video. I read in comments the loss of your wife. So sorry n my condolences

I traded the one in the shop for a 2024 hope I have no problems
you would think that after 3 years on the market they have all the issues worked out. Best of luck and let us know how it goes, good or bad.

wow, sorry to hear that, hope you're okay. Did the rear wheel lock up like a bearing failure or did the tranny lock up and cause the wheel to lock up?

Поездка выходного дня.)))
How bad is the heat coming off the exhaust onto your inner leg? Especially when waiting at a long drawbridge stop.

hey, looking to buy one of these, mine comes with a corbin seat, but you back end looks clean, what mods have you added to the backend ?
go to Corbin website and look in Harley-Davidson Sportster S and they have the tail sections like mine
I like your mirrors, could u share the model? thanks.
